Warhammer 40k Rogue trader is wild.

So many bonkers and annoying things happen to me. I run my spaceship loosely, everyones fed and healthy and happy... so the lower crew decide to coup me 3 times and lose all 3 times.

I kill a planetary governor and replace her with an alien governer.

I save a religious colony from disaster... I give them autonomy instead of ruling them ... they immediately start in-fighting

I save many civilians from a warzone, they all go insane and die.

I take a bath and relax. Local mutants decide to dump vats of blood in my bath while im snoozing.

Crazy game.

Hopefully these companies get their shit together and actually produce quality content again. They have decided that half baked plots and shoddy mechanics are fine as long as the player base feels 'represented' enough to buy the game. Its the ultimate and most offensive form of baiting.

A reminder that game companies DO NOT care about you, or what you look like or who you love. They want your money and are willing to sell you product, and tell you to get excited for next product, and laugh behind your back for being gullible.

Demand quality, not representation. Demand respect, not pandering.

I often find that reality truly is stranger than fiction. Many people complain that they wish to be in a fantasy world, discovering treasure or exploring and solving ancient mysteries.

Yet they gloss over how incredibly mysterious our world already is.

Lost artifacts from ancient times, secret cults trying to bring about armageddon, lost civilizations buried deep below the dirt, monsters lurking in the forests just waiting to be found and so much more.

While many just wave away these away as conspiracy or myths, I can assure you that they are very real, and a much bigger adventure than whatever penny dreadful story you happen across.

Get out there, take chances, and have an adventure :)

I have decided on a cool 125 pages for my first book, it will give me plenty of room to develop as the series continues. It has been taking a toll on me to hammer this out, and my prose has not been the most consistant. But overall I think the first book will be a cult classic at least within my circles.

Writing is hard

I spent a good hour writing today, got 4 pages written and then realized I would have to go back and re-do them because I broke the canon by accident. Oh boy I sure do love being the big dumb.

The peer reviews for my latest chapter in my book were mixed, I need to go back and change a few lines and some pacing to raise the quality of the work overall.

I was personally ok with most of it myself, but some 'meh' parts did detract from the chapter, so I will be fixing those before progressing further.

Ive decided to get into card collecting. Pokémon and Magic mostly, in fact I have some magic cards from 2018-2019 and I went and priced them this morning. $50 worth of cards. Mostly made up of .20's and .15's but also a few dollar cards here and there. A few foils in the mix.

I beat Metro 2033 today, very good story, very irritating mechanics.

The plot, lore and world building are peak and are based on a book series (I have yet to read it). Which overall without spoiling it, I will give it a solid 8/10.

But the early 2010s enviornmental asset snagging, clunky hit boxes, and the sometimes confusing map layouts paired with the primitive-to-modern-standards textures lead me often to disorientation. The button layout and controls for machine gun turrets was akin to tank controls circa PS1. Overall though mechanics get a 5/10. It was not the worst but not perfect either.

Final score: 6.5/10 (Very good but missed the mark)
