Dear tumblr,
Please stop showing me the zit popping game ads. They are constantly on my dash.
I report them as seen too often because they are usually the ONLY ads I get.
They are disgusting and I really hate them.
Please do what the fuck I am asking and STOP showing them to me.
It's bad enough that I have to see ads on this hellsite (affectionate???) constantly without also having to worry about nearly vomiting from one.
And before you say I can pay to go ad-free, we just got quoted FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS MINIMUM to replace our roof because of underlying damage due to all the rain we've been getting the last couple of years.

pregnancy not being considered a temporary disability literally haunts me. it's ignored in so many disability spaces and so many feminist spaces fail to properly address accomodation for pregnant people because they don't have the knowledge of disability justice to discuss it.
but if you look at pregnancy in the light of disability justice, it clears up so much. there are so many types of accomodations that should be accessible for pregnant people, so many changes to the system and ways to implement them.
it also brings to light the ableism pregnant people often face while pregnant, from the frequent claims of "lazy pregnant people" to the lack of accessibility and options to deal with side effects like pain and loss of mobility.
the lack of intersectionality in both disability and feminist spaces leaves things like pregnancy slipping through the cracks and it's so painful to see.

* A foreign language is any language that is not your native language(s)
** Example "genres": 2d art (oil painting, collage, digital art); fiber crafts (knitting, crochet, spinning); music (playing three different instruments); writing (poetry, fiction prose, blogging); gaming (video games, board games, ttrpgs); use your best judgement idc.

terfs keep mentioning the % of autistics who are trans/nb and that we're 'brainwashed'
and because i'm an asshole, i decided to look into why so many autistic folks are trans/nb. it's not an inaccurate statement, at least the first half, but terfs lie through their teeth so i decided to get to the scientific root of it.
the answer blew my fucking mind.
the study on gender and autism i found said two very specific things about autistic people: we are more mentally resistant to things like social conditioning and binarism. we like our secret third things, y'know.
an excerpt:
“The finding that non-binary identities are most elevated seems to support hypotheses focussed on autistic resistance to social conditioning, which are consistent with existing evidence of the same effect with respect to self-description of sexual orientation. Perhaps elevated rates of trans identity in autism might result from a rejection of the binary cisgenderist norm, which combined with a below-typical concern for social norms could promote the disclosure of the identity.”
94% of autistics surveyed for that paper identified themselves as non-binary.
other studies have found autistic people have higher levels of critical thinking, and require more evidence to maintain or convert to a belief system (hence why many of us eventually fall away from religion) than allistic people.
which means, at least from my perspective, that:
a) the 'brainwashing' terfs are accusing the trans community of inflicting on autistic folks would likely not even work if they tried.
b) the current binary definition of gender flies directly against embedded autistic modes of thinking to begin with.
you cannot brainwash someone into thinking something they already believe.

A large portion of my job is formatting things in Microsoft Word. Reports, proposals, other random documents.
I am more or less regarded as the go-to expert at my company if you have a question that basically amounts to "Why is Word doing this?."
But sometimes, something comes in for formatting/edit, and I am just like

Legit, I am on drugs now so that I can sleep. My natural rhythm is about...2am to 11am, I guess? When I was freelancing, it was the best. But I have an office job now, so I gotta basically drug myself to do 9-5.
Also, fun fact: I can go a long time on just 1-2 hours of sleep a night! Related fun fact: if you tell a medical professional that you're only getting 1-2 hours of sleep a night, they will ask you how you're still alive! And not find it amusing when you answer with "spite"!
This happened 3 times in one week! Hence the drugs!
delayed sleep phase syndrome sucks in 2024. it wouldn’t be a “syndrome” in 20,000 BCE. I would be wet nursing fussy babies while I stood watch against saber tooth cats. and now? not even melatonin can save me
