Look y’all, the the parte más difícil de speaking multiple languages ain’t the “hablar muchas lenguas” part, కాని “the keeping them separate part, కాదా?

Me taking German all the way up to German V in high school after a lifetime of knowing English as my first language: what the FUCK is a direct object???? What does past participle mean??? You mean to tell me there's a whole new conjugation depending on the TENSE???
My teacher: You know, English has the same stuff-
Me, who never understood it in my elementary & middle school English classes either: WHY DO LANGUAGES HAVE SO MANY RULES????? Who invented this shit????? I quit!
[to all the people who have the patience and effort to learn a new language, you are my heroes bc I'm still lost to this day 😭]

Lyrics on screen in German and English. Properly edited closed captions in Estonian, Indonesian, Italian, and Turkish. Auto-Generated closed captions in Dutch.
Vintage video (early 20th C.) of pedestrians in a crowded city during the instrumental bridge. May be incidental eye contact.
I thought of this song when writing about the private aspect of parasocial relationships for disabled folk, in my previous post.

Tung Wah Group of Hospitals CEASE Crisis Centre provides crisis intervention and support which aims to serve victims of sexual violence and individuals/families encountering domestic violence or other family crises.
Harmony House is a one-stop anti-domestic violence service agency, with a wide range of preventive, therapeutic and developmental programmes to help families affected by domestic violence.
Rainlily Covid Joint Statement
“Between January and March, Harmony House had a 25% increase in the use of its hotline to report instances of domestic violence. In April, their shelters marked the highest number of occupants this year. One fourth of their occupants over the past year identify as ethnic minorities. RainLily reported a 30% rise in sexual violence hotline use in March. Increased stress levels, being forced to spend prolonged periods with their perpetrators, and limited access to support services all contribute to the increased vulnerabilities victims face. This phenomenon mirrors the situation in other parts of the world from Europe to the Americas. In Asia, Malaysia reported a 50% increase in calls to its domestic violence hotlines and frontline organisations in Mainland China reported three times as many domestic violence-related inquiries than before quarantines were in place.”
“With the increased use of hotlines, greater publicity is needed to provide information about social service hotlines and available support services in multiple languages to ensure universal accessibility. This information can empower and provide support to those at risk of domestic and sexual violence.”

Random idea but what if Waving Through a Window from Dear Evan Hansen sung in lots of languages where it starts off in one language and then another joins in until the end where you have multiple languages all singing together.
The message being we are all human, we all have this need for connection and that traverses the language barrier.

Love is like a spinning wheel. Turning like a tumbleweed. Burning like the cobwebs in my heart. In the end, I am yours. No matter the language, no matter the worlds we live apart. In the end, you are mine. Wrapped in a warm embrace of love and protection.

The many languages of Sky
Hi all! I have a project that I hope to try. One thing I love about sky is meeting people from all over the world. I have been trying to learn different languages and also inspired by the qsmp. Thought it would be cool to do something like that in Sky! Get togather people in Sky who speak different languages and try and learn from each other! We could get togather to do activities and create group projects This is still a working idea so I would love feedback and to know if anyone is interested! You know what here a discord server for it https://discord.gg/JRMpkqzP let's do this!
