This Day in (Totally Made Up) STAR WARS History: 18 BBY, Dips Raymus graduates from Jedi Academy, benefiting from the lower testing standards in place as the Republic was in desperate need of Jedi for the Clone Wars. Ok, I think I finished that short graphic novel “experiment” I was working on. I spent a little more time on it than I thought, so I’m still wondering how my process would scale up to something with more pages. And, I’ve already learned a ton and would do a bunch of things differently were I to do it again. But, that’s the next step … tackle something a little more ambitious. I think I may stick with these same characters too. There’s more story there to tell and this was really just a glimpse. I went to Disney World with the family over the holidays, and I had a chance to build an astromech droid at Droid Depot at Galaxy’s Edge. It kind of made me realize how much of a nerd I am about astromech droids. I just can’t get enough of them. All the different models, variations, etc. I wanted to do a drawing of it – and I actually did – but I thought that was kind of boring … just a drawing of a droid. So, I drew me with it in the Star Wars universe. I found a Star Wars name generator for me, and I designated the droid “R0-4A7”. (Yes, I actually looked up the “R” series prefix for the style of droid I made, and realized it’s a post-ROTJ era “R0” series droid. Also, I guess that makes me a Resistance character. Or, perhaps something a bit more shady?!
