after an hour of arguing with your boyfriend you're still going over the same issue.

"you don't get it. i do trust you, i just don't trust other people." your boyfriend sighs as he looks at the floor, avoiding eye contact.

"no. you decided to listen to what someone accused over listening to me. i'm your girlfriend riki! where is the trust in that aspect? i didn't kiss sunghoon." you raise your voice in arrogance.

you and riki just left sunghoon's party, you parted ways because he was with his friends and you were with yours.

while you were playing some party games with your friends, you got a text from riki.

my riki 🫶 ; "y/n i need to talk to you cause seriously what the fuck is wrong with you?"

you gasped at the message, you felt your heart sink because he's never spoken to you like that before.

"i'm trying so hard to believe you. it's just that you're being difficult right now-" he tries to put the pieces together.

"i'm being difficult? are you kidding me? i don't know who told you those rumors but i never would betray you like that. i hope you know that." you argue.

"baby there we're so many people talking about it." he groans.

"who cares about that? i'm telling you right now, i never did anything with him. you know i wouldn't do that, so why are you accusing me all of a sudden?"

your boyfriend has been blabbering about this topic the whole night, and he won't let it go. he won't even tell you how he "found," out about this. but you know in your conscious you did not kiss him. so who were the bitches who spread this fake rumor?

"then why was everyone talking about it? it was almost like they witnessed it or something..." riki rambled on and on about it but you lost interest.

"look at me, i don't care who said anything, you need to trust me and believe me, i didn't do anything with him. why can't you just believe me and we can drop this? riki i love you so much. i would never ever do something like that to hurt you. i tell you this everyday, i love you riki. why do you find it difficult to trust me when i'm right in front of you? i'm with you riki. i'm not with sunghoon or anyone else, why can't you just believe me?" you wince because saying this is starting to make your hurt ache. you feel your head start to pound as you see the boy you love in front of start crying.

"riki, i need you to trust me." you finalize your response.

"i hate the fact that i'm not letting myself trust you. you showed me what love is, you helped me become a better person. i just can't get too attached like this, because i end up hurting the other person." he warbled. holding back everything he has.

"i am willing to take that chance for you, riki why won't you let me just love you?" you cry, moving your hand to caress his.

"i love you but i don't want you to love me. so i think we need to take a break." he pulls his hand away from yours.

"you're right, let's just get some water and just cool off. we're too angry right now and we need to just relax. let's go to sleep baby, it's late-"

riki cuts you off, "no y/n, i mean a break. like from each other."

"what?" you blurt, feeling your nose heat up, your eyes start welling up with tears.

"i'm sorry." he apologized.

"fine. leave. i won't wait for you. take your car and don't even come to bed tonight. find somewhere else." you pace quickly and walk away before he sees you crying. you strut to you and riki's bedroom and just sit on the bed.

next thing you know you hear the front door to your apartment open and close. he really left.

your boyfriend has struggled with this before and he told you. he doesn't deal with things like this well, especially since you're his first girlfriend.

he constantly fears that he will hurt you on accident, so he tends to avoid conflict. you two don't argue a lot so this is pretty easy, but this time he let it get the best of him. he loves you so much and he can't help but feel jealous and leave. which is toxic for the both of you.

staring at your phone, seeing the time as 1:24 am. glaring at your wallpaper that has an image of you two hugging on the bed that you're laying on. you slowly drift off to sleep.

time; 2:48 am

he unlocks the door, disobeying everything you said. coming home anyways. he's holding a packet of ramyeon, eyes and cheeks puffy from crying.

taking off his coat, he looks around the room and sees the tissues laid across the side table in the living room.

he starts to feel his heart pound, seeing his girlfriend in this state because of him hurts him more than anything.

he didn't mean it when he said he wanted to take a break. he never wanted that from you.

"love?" he mumbles, looking around for you.

"i'm sorry i didn't come sooner, i know you don't want to see me but baby i can't last without you." riki starts to tear up, his eyes wandering to the tissues again, making him fill up with guilt.

he realizes you're probably sleeping, judging by the time. as he enters the bedroom his eyes soften at the "you," shaped blanket.

"love. i'm so sorry. i didn't mean anything i said. i let my emotions get the best of me. i love you so much, i never want to leave you. you're the only one for me." he rubs your shoulder, waiting for a response.

noticing that you're deep in slumber he decides to change into his pajamas and get in bed with you.

he peeks at your red flannel pants, wanting to match.

"how could i hurt someone so precious to me?" he thinks as he slips into the sheets.

every night before bed you two usually cuddle to sleep, basking in each others embrace. but tonight was cold, you had your hands wrapped around a pillow and he was just facing you, waiting for you to turn around towards him.

"baby, you might get cold." he says as he stares the your legs outside of the comforter.

he tugs the blanket, cuddling you both in it.

"i'm so sorry, i should have trusted you. i don't know what was wrong with me. i love you so much." he hugs your back, eager to see your face.

"y/n. wake up. i'm home." he softly taps your shoulder.

"riki?" you question rubbing your sore eyes, slowly turning your body to face him.

"i'm so sorry. honey i know i messed up, but let's talk about it in the morning. i didn't mean to hurt you like this. go back to sleep i just want you to know i'm here though." riki wraps his arms around you as you rest your head on his neck.

"do you love it?" he smiles widely knowing you're ecstatic about his gift.

"oh my gosh are you kidding? of course i love it. thank you i love you so much." you kiss his cheek nonstop waiting for him to pull away.

"okay, i know it's not much. and i'm kind of bummed you got me such a great gift because now i feel like my gift isn't enough." you frown, but he puts his hand on your cheek and smiles at you in the softest way possible.

"anything is fine i swear. if it came from my girlfriend then i love it." he tears the wrapping paper, exposing white tissue paper.

niki gasps as he sees his favorite football players jersey, but instead of neymar it says nishimura. his eyes light up and he looks like he just got the world in a present. (he's so cute help.)

riki wants to always be with you but he's also always napping on your bed.

dates usually occur at the arcade, at either of your homes, or at the mall.
