Touya had been walking aimlessly not knowing for how long. Everything was dark around him and this heavy silence chased after him no matter how many steps he took away from it. He could tell that something was wrong but he couldn’t quite put a finger on what exactly. He could feel his heart hammering in his chest as his anxiety grew. He didn’t realize when his pace increased and he was running; running away from something he did not know. He stopped only when his hands hit something solid in front of him. He couldn’t see it but after feeling it with his hands, it seemed like a wall. He was now breathing heavily as he looked around him but all he saw was complete darkness. He could barely see himself in this darkness and the floor felt cold under his bare feet.
He was startled when he felt some vibrations in the supposed wall causing him to look at it but failing to see anything. He let out a gasp when he felt this wall pushing against him. He took a few steps back, only for his back to hit something causing him to stop. With a panic-stricken face Touya looked behind him to find nothing again. His breathing was beginning to get uneven and felt like he was surrounded. He tried to move left and right but was met by more walls. His hands clenched in to tight fists as he lifted his arms to slam in to these walls but to no avail. Touya was covered in sweat as his whole body started shaking. He couldn’t breathe. He tried to swallow the lump forming in his throat but was unable to. He felt so helpless and suffocated in this place but he didn’t know how to get out of here because no matter how much he walked, he was only met by darkness. He hunched over and circled his arms around his legs while hiding his face in his knees. He thought maybe, just maybe all of this will disappear if he looks away for a while. He was trying to count slowly and trying to match his breathing with it but he was too scared.
He was startled when he felt something warm on his arm and fell back down with wide eyes. He blinked a few times when he saw a blob of bright light floating in the air. It was the only light he saw in his surroundings. He flinched when this blob came closer to his face and instinctively moved back. On close inspection he realized that it was a butterfly and it was glowing. It had a beautiful pattern on its wings, a mix of chocolate brown and black. He could not bring himself to say anything as he stared at this beautiful creature wondering what it is doing in a place like this.
The butterfly made another attempt to come closer to his face but this time he didn’t shy away from it. He held his breath as it decided to settle on the tip of his nose. He didn’t know how much time passed by until the butterfly decided to fly away. His eyes widened because he didn’t want to be alone in this dark place. He tried getting up, only to trip on something but he broke his fall with his hands and stood up quickly. He felt his heart sink for a moment when he didn’t see the glowing butterfly but as soon as his eyes met the floating light, relief washed over him. He started walking after it, completely forgetting that he was surrounded by walls before.
He could see the butterfly just suspended in air when he would be left a little behind. It was as if it was guiding him somewhere. Sometimes when he was close enough, he could tell that the butterfly had turned around to look at him, waiting for him to follow. It wasn’t long before he began to see some light faraway. It was as if he was walking to the end of a tunnel. He felt so much relief wash over him as he followed it. “Hey…” He stopped causing the butterfly to stop and turn towards him. He blinked a few times, wondering if the it could understand what he is saying. “Who…who are you? And why are you helping me?” He waited for a reply, somewhat expecting the butterfly to talk but it remained quiet. He shook his head calling himself an idiot for expecting a butterfly to talk and began walking which caused the butterfly to move forward as well. Soon he was engulfed in the bright light, so blinding that he couldn’t see anything. “Thank you…” Just as he said that, the butterfly transformed in to a human. It was hard to make out who it was, but for some reason he had an inkling who it might be. Just as he hit the realization of who it was, he woke up.
Touya was startled as he looked around. His ears caught the beeping of the monitors causing his eyes to follow that sound. His eyes were wide when he saw Y/N lying in bed, looking sickly. She looked so pale against the white hospital sheets. He remembered how warm she looked the day they went to Sekoto Peak under the orange rays. He stood up from the couch he had fallen asleep on after the doctor told him the operation was a success. His legs felt jelly and he was sure he would fall before he could reach her but he made it to the bed. Her eyes were closed and she looked peaceful. He lifted his hand to place on her cold cheek which was once so warm. He rubbed his thumb over that plump skin as he leaned down and left a feathered kiss over her forehead. She seemed so fragile but resilient at the same time.
“It was you all along.” His voice was hoarse as he watched her with a sad smile. “You saved me unknowingly from the darkness that was creeping over me. You made me realize so many things that didn’t even cross my mind before. Helped me cope with my shitty old man.” His voice was wavering and a lump formed in his throat making it hard to speak. “Thank you for everything you have done for me.” His thumb now brushed against her delicate lips. He still remembered how soft they were and how perfectly they fit against his. “Now, let me make things right for you. Let me create a world where you can live freely without being afraid of getting hunted down. A world where you can treat people unbiased. Let me help you flesh out the world you have envisioned for so long.”
He leaned down once more, close to her face. His voice was wavering but he continued, “But for that to work out, I can’t let you be close to me. It will be too dangerous for you because everyone will be coming after me. I can’t be with you because I am just like my father. I lose my temper easily and the last thing I want is to hurt you when all I see is red.” He joined his forehead with hers and closed his eyes. He could feel his heart beating in his ears. He was extremely nervous because he had never been this honest about his emotions with anyone before. He was scared that there would be another rejection. Scared that she would be disgusted by him after what he did last time. Terrified that he would never be able to see her again or that warm smile or those big expressive eyes when she finds something interesting. Funny gestures when she would be describing something to him, her displeased face when he was annoying her, her dusted cheeks when she gets embarrassed. Oh, she would get embarrassed so easily. She had slowly become such a huge part of his life that he could not bear to live with all the emptiness that would be left behind if she walks away. He was ready to give up chasing her to love him back because just her presence in his life was enough. If only he could watch her from afar living the life she had dreamed of, would be enough.
“I don’t want to lose you, Y/N. Try not to be so reckless until I am done with this work, eh?” He finally opened his eyes and leaned back. He didn’t realize he had tears rolling down his face so he wiped them away with the back of his hand. He let out a long sigh, trying to make his breathing regular. He looked at Y/N one last time before he turned around to go and begin his plan. Last thing he expected was a sudden grip on his wrist from the back causing his breath to hitch and his heart rate to increase.
Note: Hey everyone. I haven't posted any chapters in a long while because I just couldn't bring myself to write something good. Even though I have a rough sketch of the whole story and had some nice ideas, I didn't like the way it was written. On top of that I had been busy with finals of the last year of Uni. I have finally graduated but now I am working along with studying for an exam (medschool is grueling) so I barely get any time and I feel like I have lost the creativity with which I had started writing this story. But I really wanted to continue writing this story. So, I decided to post this chapter. It is too short for my liking but I think this was a good place to end the chapter. I apologize if this chapter isn't very good and for taking so long to update this story. But I hope you enjoy it.
@archive-network I joined you guys months ago because I had been planning on writing and reading so many things but ended up not doing any of that, so I apologise for that. But I'll try to be a little more active now because I feel like if I stay away from writing and reading, I lose my creativity slowly and I don't want that to happen.

Parts: |Part 1| |Part 2| |Part 3| |Part 4| |Part 5| |Part 6| |Part 7|
He was walking towards the house he spent all his life in, with clear determination. He didn’t need to ring any bells because he had a spare key to the house. As soon as he walked in, he heard hurried footsteps and Fuyumi’s voice asking, “Oh Father! Did you find anything related to Tou-” but she stopped midway when her eyes met his. They were so wide as she froze in her spot, her hand clutching the shirt in front of her. After the initial surprise, the hurt was clear on her face but she still ran over to him and wrapped her arms around him. Her grip was tight around him and he could feel his shirt get wet from her tears but he didn’t raise his arms to hug her back. He didn’t want his filth rubbing on her.
The amount of guilt he felt for being the cause of that expression on her face was immense. He never thought it could be enough for his determination to waver but here he was, contemplating the decisions he made in the past two days. It didn’t last long because Endeavor flashed before his mind and all that hatred came back followed closely by the phony hero society. He gritted his teeth and his hands were clenched beside him. He was glaring at the wall in front of him, not realizing that his whole body was shaking from anger. He finally lifted his hands and pushed Fuyumi back gently. He looked down at her with darkened eyes. “I’m leaving.” Before taking her reaction in he decided to walk past her to visit mother before he left.
But Fuyumi had other plans. She grabbed his arm tightly, preventing him from walking away. When did she get this strong? Had she been training? But he pushed those thoughts out of his head. “But why…? Touya, what happened? Everything was going so well. It seemed like we were like a normal family!”. He let out a low chuckle when she said that. “Keyword: Seemed. We never really were and you know that better than anyone else.” With that he pulled himself out of her grip and went to the lounge where he found his mother placing her tea cup down on the table. He heard Fuyumi running after him but stopping at the lounge entrance.
He slowly walked towards his mother but stopped when she spoke. “So, you decided to leave.” Her tone suggested that she was not asking a question. He hummed in return. “Stay safe out there and know that you can always come back here in the future.” She added right after. All he could do in that moment was nod. In the past few years, he realized his mother had been so accepting of everything he did, no matter what Endeavor or anyone else had to say. She was always there, rooting for him. He had misunderstood her in the past but he understood the situation much better now. “I will try.” His voice was low as he started to turn away from her. “Oh, and Touya?” He turned around when she called out his name and saw her head turned to look at him with a sad smile on her face. “I’m sorry. For not doing enough for you.” His head shook before she could finish her sentence but he couldn’t say anything to stop her because it seemed like there was a lump stuck in his throat.
“You’ve done enough. I’m not leaving because of you.” He couldn’t believe he was saying these words just now because Touya in the past would never. All of this, he learnt from Y/N. He let out a shaky breath when her face crossed his mind so he shook his head and saw tears in his mother’s eyes. She had completely turned towards him with her arms wide open, waiting for him to come forward so she could embrace him in a tight hug. He stood there for a while but he finally took small steps forward until his mother’s arm could easily wrap around him. He let out an oomph sound because Fuyumi jumped on to them, putting all her weight on him, crushing him between her and mother. “I’ll miss you, Touya.” Fuyumi finally spoke. All of this seemed so foreign to him but he didn’t hate it. Although the timing just wasn’t right.
He left the house with a heavy heart. Those two managed to waver his determination so much that he was about to quit and stay home but he knew he had to do what he decided to start.
He spent the next few months collecting all the evidence against the hero society. He had to go through private data after infiltrating different buildings to get the CCTV footage. The number of crimes he committed in the past month was probably more than the number of days he had spent in this world. He hadn’t killed any more people since that one accidental murder. He would just stun the people on his missions. He hired a hacker to collect more data as well. It showed him how dirty the hero society actually was. He was so disgusted that he blindly followed his father to be a part of this hero society. That he even burnt his own wings for it. His jaw was clenched as he watched a group of heroes partying on some island drinking and getting high while balls deep in young girls sold to them. It was so hard for him to not just break the laptop. He was censoring the faces of the girls to keep their privacy. All of it seemed like he was watching some movie but it was reality, the ugly truth.
He was nearly done compiling the video which he was planning to broadcast to the whole world. He knew very well that a lot of people would come after him with the intent to kill. He also knew that once the video is out, he won’t be able to go back to his old life. But after watching all those heinous crimes, there was no way he wanted to go back. He could finally see the world through Y/N’s eyes and it was sickening. He wanted to protect her from all that but in order to do that, he needed to stay far away from her because he was about to become the most wanted man in the country.
He put the laptop away after finishing the video and uploading it on a USB. He stood up from his working table after putting the USB in his pocket. He realized in the past month that he couldn’t cook to save his life. The number of times he had to change apartments because of fires was embarrassing. So, he depended on take-outs completely. He realized that everything tasted the same, full of chemicals and dull. His take-out was waiting on the table which he forgot to eat because he was really busy. Today was his deadline and he had a lot of work to finish. He just opened the boxes and started eating the cold meal. He realized it was pointless to heat the food because it would just go down the drain in the end anyway.
After eating half of that repulsive food, he threw it away. He went to the bathroom to take a quick shower. He stopped when he saw his reflection in the mirror. His hair was a complete mess and the white roots had grown out a lot. He really needed to get a haircut and dye his hair but he didn’t know how to and he had no time to go to a hairdresser. There were dark circles under his eyes, making him look like a panda except that he had lost weight. The clothes that fit him perfectly before were loose now. The most prominent difference was the presence of small patches of purple on his skin, including his face due to overusing his quirk.
After a quick shower, he dried himself up and wore his usual white t-shirt with black pants. He saw the sun peeking from the horizon from his window so he wore a black leather jacket which had a silver spiky design popping out of it. He also had a dog tag hanging around his neck. He checked himself out in the full body mirror for his piercings and to see if any of his tattoos were poking out of his clothes. Endeavor hated tattoos and he always wanted to get them but was unable to until he left the house. He walked over to the doorway and put on his combat boots and a black mask to hide his face.
He checked his pocket once to make sure the USB was there and walked out of the apartment. The hacker had given him some dirty secrets related to a news broadcasting company which agreed to post his video after he blackmailed them to show it on their channel without having a look at it.
He needed to be careful about appearing in the public after what happened last month. All the people who once looked at him with admiration looked at him with disgust now. There were a lot of search parties still looking for him. He took a deep breath as he got out of the apartment. He hadn’t gone out in a few days and the fresh air felt good. There weren’t a lot of people outside at this hour, at least not in the sketchy area he lived in. This area was filled with drug addicts and people who either didn’t have a job or were barely making it through the day.
He took the sub-way and waited for his station to arrive. He was staring at his hands which were covered in scars as well. Living among the thorny flowers can end up with small injuries like these. At the back of his mind, Y/N was there fussing over his injuries and taking care of them, telling him to be careful, giving him advice on how to prevent his body from deteriorating from his quirk. He let out a sigh and clenched his shaky hands in to tight fists. His vision was getting blurry so he blinked back the tears. He knew that he won’t ever have what he really wanted because he did not deserve to have her nor was she safe with him around. She was strong enough to survive on her own especially being involved with villains for so many years. He knew that she knew ways to get out of bad situations because she still had her wings. She had made it clear to him as well that she didn’t want to be with him the way he wanted to be with her. He could tell that his end was near. He was blessed with another life eight years ago but he wanted to return it to whatever gods were up there after fulfilling his duty.
He heard the announcement for his stop so he got up and walked out of the subway. The broadcasting company’s building was just five minutes away. There were way more people in this part of city because it was the working-class people who lived around here. He had just taken a few steps when he noticed some unrest. His body was conditioned to pick that up from years of training to become a hero. There were subtle signs you needed to look for. He saw a sudden increase in people speed-walking in a specific direction. It meant the unrest was happening in the opposite direction. Without thinking much of it, he started going in that direction to see what was going on.
What he saw there was not something he expected to find. Before he could stop himself, he ran towards the scene. Y/N was lying in the middle of the road in a pool of blood. He was hoping it was not hers as he activated his quirk and aimed it at the man looming over her. What he did a month ago was repeating itself. All he could see was red as he kept punching this man with his brilliant blue flames covering his fists. “Don’t you fucking dare to lay another finger on her or else you won’t get to see this world again.” He growled out in anger as he stood up and kicked him. He was about to kick him some more when he heard a wet cough coming from behind him causing all his anger to melt. He could finally see again.
His eyes widened as he turned around quickly. He rushed over to her and was on his knees. His hands were trembling as he tried to reach out to her. He didn’t want to touch her in the state she was in. It seemed like if he touched her, she would break. She had a deep wound on her stomach which she was clutching. Her face held a pained expression. Her eyes were closed and she wasn’t moving except the irregular breathing. He finally gathered his courage enough to touch her. He noticed her eyes twitching. “Y/N…” His voice was shaky. He saw her open her eyes slightly. “You are a fucking dumb-ass.” His voice was strained as he was trying to hold his emotions in check while picking her up. “Can’t even climb a fucking cliff without rolling down it.” He spoke as he quickly took her to the nearest hospital. She let out a chuckle and tried saying something but he couldn’t understand. As long as she was speaking, it meant that she was still alive.
The people on the reception were being a total bitch because she was not allowed to get treatment from any hospitals because she was labelled as a villain so she was lying on a bed bleeding to death. It was really hard for him to keep his cool in a situation like this. This was exactly what Y/N always talked about. This difference in treatment of heroes and villains. He gave them a manic smirk as he took his phone out and played a video for them. “You know about this by any chance?” He showed them a clip of a hero bringing in a young girl he had assaulted. All her lab reports were present in the video but they had decided to stay hush hush about it because the hero bribed them with a lot of money.
“You wouldn’t want people finding about this now, would you?” He pulled his phone away from them after taking in their horrified expressions. He saw the receptionist quickly typing and telling another person to go inform the doctor to start the treatment. He quietly walked away from them. The doctors told him that she needed emergency surgery because there was a lot of internal damage and bleeding which required fixing. So now he sat in the waiting area, anxiety-ridden, thinking of all the horrible scenarios.
He realized that she needed to be more careful if she was going to be on her own especially when he won’t be available to protect her. He needed to do something about it before he died. He saw the red light turn off. He felt his stomach doing flips in his stomach. He had his hands clenched tightly in fists beside him causing his knuckles to become white. The door finally opened revealing the doctor so he stood up immediately and closed the distance between them.

A Little Death- The Neighbourhood
I just realized how this is such a Touya song like wtf?
Like imagine, Touya has been out on missions for days. He is so absorbed in his hatred for Endeavor that he forgets he is human. But then he comes to your place and you pull him in an embrace and it reminds him that he is a living breathing human. He realizes he was touch starved and one touch from you is enough to dispel all those intense negative emotions he had regarding Endeavor and dying along with him. It reminds him that now he has a purpose in life which does not revolve around his dear old daddy. His newfound purpose is to protect you, live for you, live for that touch of yours and to keep you happy.

“Touya?” she repeated his name in that soft concerned voice of hers but he just couldn’t bring himself to say anything. He let out a sigh after a few seconds of silence and ended the call. He put his phone away and laid in fetus position. He was staring at the dark wall in front of him. There was a pattern of branches and leaves along with silver light bouncing off of the wall that was coming from the window.
He was thinking about every single time his father forced him to continue training no matter how exhausted he was. Endeavor would say that he was nowhere close to being All Might’s equal and that he needs to work way harder than he was right now. That part of his life seemed endless. Everyday was the same grueling routine that he had memorized. During those training sessions all he learnt was how to make his fire even stronger and during the process he ended up burning his body but he didn’t let his parents see those burns. Last thing he wanted was for them to find out that he was even weaker than they thought. Hiding the burns was not an easy task and they were bound to find out eventually.
Just when his father was about to give up on him, he found out how his red fire changed to a beautiful blue depending on his emotions. He still remembered how happy and relieved he was that day. He told his father to come see him train on the Sekoto peak. He had low hope because his parents found out about his burns and told him there was no need to compete with All Might.
That day he felt completely useless and helpless. It was as if he had only one purpose in life and he failed it horribly. He was desperate to hold on to this little purpose his life had. He didn’t want to give up on himself so quickly and he wanted to make his parents see that as well. That he was not as worthless as he seemed. That his birth had a purpose. That he didn’t want them to give up on him.
As he waited for his father to show up at Sekoto peak, he slowly started losing hope of him showing up. It seemed like his life had ended before it even started properly. It was as if he was stuck in a cocoon unable to break himself free and fly out with brilliant wings in to the sky. Being stuck in this small place was suffocating and as he tried to break free, his quirk got out of control. He managed to burn through the cocoon but at what cost? Before he knew it, his bright blue flames burnt everything including him. He had no memory of what happened after that. He had woken up in the hospital after being in coma for three years. Fuyumi and mother had tears in their eyes and Endeavor had disbelief in his eyes. They all rushed over to him. Fuyumi and mother hugged him.
Endeavor had apologized for being late that day. He said he wanted to give Touya a chance to continue being a hero. That they will figure out a way for him to use his quirk without having to hurt his body. But his eyes darkened when Endeavor mentioned All Might. When Endeavor looked at Touya, it seemed like he was invisible, a ghost. All Endeavor saw was All Might and how far away he was from achieving that goal. He realized that day that no matter how brilliant his flames shone, Endeavor would never look at him properly because he could never be enough.
He didn’t realize he was grinding his teeth as he thought of the day he woke up after the fire. He decided to become a hero nonetheless, thinking that maybe, just maybe Endeavor would look at him but as the years passed by, he realized that day won’t ever come and that he had been giving himself false hope for all those years. It was a complete waste. After-all, what can a butterfly achieve after it burnt its own wings? He was nothing but a failure. But before he dies, he wanted to prove at least one thing. The weak foundation this hero society stood on, he wanted to give it a little push and watch it all fall like jenga. He wanted everyone to see the duality of this hero society through their own eyes.
He was pulled out of his thoughts by the loud knocking on the door but he made no effort to open the door. He didn’t care about anything at this point. He didn’t expect the person to break open the door and march in. His unfazed eyes found Y/N standing in front of him with her hands resting on either side of her waist as she stared at with anger clear on her face. He just turned his gaze back to the wall. The gentle moonlight was gone now, replaced by soft but brighter sun rays.
“Touya! What the hell was that? What were you thinking when you pulled that feat?!” She was making all sorts of gestures with her hands. He noticed her frustration but didn’t respond to it in anyway. “Oi! I’m talking to you!” She tried to gain his attention but failed because he turned his back to her. He heard her sigh and felt the bed creak and the mattress dipped when she sat. He felt her hand on his arm but he still supported a monotonous expression.
“Just apologize to your dad and continue working with the agency. Your rating will slowly go up because you’re really strong.” His blood boiled when she told him that and he could no longer hold himself back from speaking. “Apologize? To that piece of trash? I did nothing wrong.” He scoffed and roughly pushed her hand away from his arm. “Just fuck off.” When he said that, a heavy silence fell over them but he could tell she was still sitting there.
“To-” Before she could say anything else he cut her off. “Don’t concern yourself with me anymore and go patch up those poor unfortunate souls.” Even though he said that, he could feel a pang in his chest. He knew exactly what he was doing but this was necessary. He told her exactly what her father had said to her when she expressed her dreams to him. He thought she would distance herself from him if he hurt her enough.
He felt the bed creak and the dip disappeared suggesting she had stood up. “I am worried about you, Touya! That doesn’t have anything to do with the facility.” He could hear the waver in her voice and the way her voice broke slightly but he needed to hit the final blow. “I didn’t ask you to come and give me one of your pep talks.” His jaw was clenched and his eyes were squinted as pain spread over his chest. He didn’t dare turn his head to look her way because he knew that if he did, the burning in his eyes would convert to blood seeping out from his eyes.
“What has gotten in to you?! I am only trying to he-” once more he cut her off before she could finish her sentence. “Do I look fucking helpless to you?!” He couldn’t help himself as he sat up violently and turning towards her. He glared at her. “If you think you can fix me like one of your patients then get the fuck out of here. I don’t ever want to see your face again. Go play doctor at your facility.” And that was the final blow.
He saw how red her face was. Tears daring to spill from her big expressive eyes, hurt clear in them. Her brows were scrunched up and her lower lip was quivering. He saw the way her hands were clenched in fists beside her as she trembled. He was counting the seconds, waiting for her to walk away because he didn’t know how much longer he could hold up this façade.
“Fuck you.” Her voice was low, shaky and he could tell it was hard for her to speak right now. He watched her turn around and walk away. He let out a shaky breath as his shoulders fell. He stared at his lap as he felt warm liquid sliding down his cheeks and staining the shirt red. He grabbed his head in both his hands as he hunched over. His whole body was trembling and the pain radiated from his chest to the rest of his body, reaching even his fingertips. He kept telling himself that this was necessary and he was just protecting her.
He is the last person she should be wasting her time on. She still has wings and she should fly while she has the chance. He is bound to burn her wings away if she stays with him. That was the last thing he wanted. After-all, he only knew how to burn everything around him, including himself. He could never be a butterfly with big colourful wings soaring in the sky. That was never his destiny. He was a butterfly with no wings and he lived among the thorns of beautiful radiant flowers. No matter how much he dreams of flying, he would never be able to. Once the wings of a butterfly are burnt, they don’t ever grow back. He didn’t want her to hold herself because of him. He knew how bad it was to live among thorns and he would never wish for her to live a life like that. Ever.

Synopsis: Touya has become a hero, fulfilling his father's wish. He wanted Endeavor to be proud of him. Then why is this emptiness chasing him everywhere? Why can't he fit in with everyone else? Is this really what he wanted? All his thoughts and concepts about the hero society are left in chaos when he meets a certain villain.
Note: There is just Fuyumi in this story because Touya has achieved what Endeavor wanted.
Word count: 1.9k
Parts: |Part 1| |Part 2| |Part 3| |Part 4| |Part 5| |Part 6| |Part 7|
Touya had been working non stop for the past few days. The day he was rejected, he stayed at Sekoto peak for many hours. The sky was completely dark and covered in stars with a bright moon peeking from behind the clouds. He was surrounded by fireflies but his mood did not match with his surroundings and he hated that. So, he stood up and went to a dingy bar close by which was mostly empty and drank the night away. He woke up the next day with a splitting headache. Fuyumi and mother tried asking what happened but he didn’t want to talk about it so he would just shake his head keeping his lips tightly shut.
He hadn’t slept a wink in the past three days and his vision was beginning to get blurry along with a constant static in his brain. He wanted to forget that day and he wanted to forget about her completely and this was the only way he knew. He had been switching between fighting villains and chugging all kinds of alcoholic drinks at the bar.
He had realized that his attacks were becoming clumsy and his planning was not his best right now but it didn’t matter to him. He was gripping on to the same beer bottle he used to have with her as his eyes burnt. He gritted his teeth as he stared at the bottle in his hand, resting on the wooden table. He chugged the rest of it and threw it on the ground beside the stool he was sitting on breaking the silence with a loud breaking sound of glass. He placed his tab on the table. “Keep the change.” His voice was deeper than usual but monotonous, just as his facial expression.
He walked out in to the small dark alleyway. He took in a shaky breath and began his night patrol. His hands were stuffed in his pockets as he slowly walked around the busy streets now. For some reason he didn’t find a single villain to fight today and that had him on edge because his feelings were bubbling, about to spill over. He needed something to stop this bubbling before he ended up doing something stupid.
He froze in his steps when heard squeals from his right. He blinked and looked to the side and saw a flock of girls waving at him. He had a disinterested look on his face as he turned away from them and kept walking. He never really had to deal with these fans because they kept their distance from him. But this time was different. These girls were daring enough to approach him even though he was known for being unpredictable. “Touuyaaa! Please wait! We want a picture with you!”
He let out a sigh and stopped as the girls surrounded him. “OMG! He is so much hotter in person!” He heard a voice among the crowd followed by, “Damn look at those piercings and the scars peeking from under his shirt!”. Touya felt like he was in a zoo and all these people were getting excited about taking pictures with some exotic animal which is usually not found in this part of the world. Suddenly it seemed like there were bars surrounding him as everyone took his pictures. His eyes squinted at all the repeated flashlights hitting his eyes.
He growled and held the girl’s wrist which she “accidentally” placed on his ass. “Get the fuck out of my face.” He was glaring at her for a moment and shifted it to everyone else. They all were quietly staring at him now, fear clear in their faces. “All of you, Fuck. Off.” He spoke firmly and separated himself from the group. Just as he did, he heard commotion close by which caught his attention.
His eyes were focused on people screaming and running away from a spot close by. Before he knew it, he ran towards it, dodging the people running in a direction opposite to him. He didn’t realize he had a huge smirk plastered on his face, as his hands started smoking. He attacked the little fry head-on without any plans or previous knowledge about the villain’s quirk. All he wanted was to take all his frustration out on something. One punch followed another as his hands shone blue from the brilliant flame of his quirk. All he saw was red and there was no stopping him. All he remembered was someone pulling him away from the body that lay unmoving on the ground now with blood pooling beside it, face unrecognizable. “Touya! What do you think you’re doing?!” A booming voice finally reached his ear and that was the last voice he wanted to hear right now. He pulled himself out of his father’s grip and glared at him. “There comes dear old daddy to save the day! Being all righteous, fooling the world in to thinking of you as a hero.” He was seething and he didn’t realize his whole body was quickly overheating, even burning through the supposedly fireproof hero costume.
His father just stood frozen in his spot with eyes so wide that his eyeballs would have fallen out if they weren’t connected in the back. “What…what do you mean, Touya?” Endeavor finally spoke after the initial shock passed. “Everything I have done until now…it has been for you.” Touya let out a chuckle at that as he swayed in his spot. “What a joke! For me? You only ever cared about yourself. Just because you couldn’t get better than All Might, you threw all that responsibility on me!” He was patting his chest with both his hands now with a crazed grin on his face. “Everything you have ever done has been to fulfill that selfish dream of yours!” Touya chuckled facing the sky with his eyes closed as his arms lay limp beside him. All the resentment he had towards Endeavor was coming out of him right now. The father he was once proud of, to such a point that he wanted to become him had melted in to thin air when he realized that Endeavor never really looked at him properly. There was always this comparison with All Might and how he was failing at becoming the number 1 hero. No matter how much he tried to improve, All Might would always overshadow him. “You never really looked at me.” He was staring in to his father’s eyes with a blank expression on his face.
He walked away after a while because he knew Endeavor wouldn’t have anything to say to him. He didn’t go home after that. He had been staying at a rundown motel. He had switched his phone off because he didn’t want to deal with anyone right now. It was like an endless tsunami going on in his mind. Nothing was making sense to him anymore. He plopped in to the mattress with his head buried in to the pillow. He was quietly staring at the ceiling which was covered in stains with paint chipping away at many spots. He didn’t know when his eyes closed or his racing heart slowed down.
He groaned while sitting up, holding his head in his hand. It seemed like he slammed his head in to a wall repeatedly. His eyes fell on his clothes which had multiple burnt patches, showing his skin underneath which was red and painful. He clicked his tongue in annoyance. These would leave a scar because he didn’t cool them down on time. He stripped out of his clothes and went to take a cold shower. That soothed his burns for now. He was washing the dried-up blood on his knuckles when he remembered what he had done to that villain. He wondered if he was still alive. His eyes widened when a similar image crossed his mind. But in this image, it was Touya when he was young, collapsed on the ground with his father shouting at him to get up and continue training.
He gritted his teeth and looked down, with his bangs covering his eyes. His knuckles were white now as he realized that he was no different from his father. Touya was as destructive as him and there was no doubt about it. He was just a filthy hero and Y/N deserved someone better. Not a nut case like him. It was better if he forgets about her and move on.
He stood in the shower for longer than expected because he was lost in thoughts. His skin had gotten wrinkly now. He grabbed a towel and dried himself up. He had gotten a simple T shirt and trouser on his way to the motel so he wore that. Water was still dripping down his hair as he sat on the bed with a towel around his neck. He grabbed his phone and switched it on. Just as he thought his phone started vibrating as soon as he turned it on, all the notifications piling up. He saw missed calls from Fuyumi, mother, Endeavor and his agency. He just swiped them away. That’s when he noticed a missed call from an unknown number. He didn’t focus on it much and surfed through the news articles. His hero ranking had dropped painfully low. He was no longer in the top ten heroes because the villain he attacked had died by the time he was taken to the hospital and the public didn’t approve of the way he handled the situation with his father or with the fans.
He growled as the grip tightened on his phone. That was all it took for them to discard him, all his hard work over the years. The hero society was severely biased and the heroes were only after the fame and money that came with the job. The society foolishly continued to support such heroes but that was because the ugly truth about the heroes was kept hidden from the public. He made a promise to himself that day, to unveil all the ugliness these heroes have been hiding from the society with their apparent courage and chivalry they showed by risking their lives. All of that was one big joke.
He threw his phone on the bed when he heard a loud growl from his stomach demanding food. He stood up and rummaged through the shopping bag where he had taken his clothes out from. He made himself cup noodles and ate them on the small kitchen counter. He discarded all the waste and went back to bed, turning off all the lights. It was still dark outside. He wondered how much he slept. He checked the time and date on hid phone. Turned out, he slept through the whole day after the drama with his father. He laid down with a sigh after drying his hair with the towel one last time and discarding it on the floor. He noticed that unknown number from before. His number was highly protected and no one could easily get it. He rarely received calls like this so he decided to call them back.
He sighed after a few rings and realized the person probably isn’t going to pick the call. He was about to end the call when someone picked the call on the other end. He decided to remain quiet and let the other person talk first to see if he knows the person from somewhere. He really didn’t want to deal with his family or anyone from the agency right now. “Touya?”
His lips parted at that familiar sound that he thought he would never hear. He swallowed hard and took deep breaths to calm himself down. There was a big lump in his throat that prevented him from speaking. His heart was still beating crazily in his chest at Y/N’s voice.
Note: I hope ya'll like this chapter. There isn't much about Y/N but Touya dealing with his feelings. There will be more of Y/N in the next chapter. I'd love to hear your feedback on how the story is turning out to be. If you have a different interpretation of Touya in this alternate universe then do let me know!

“Eh?” She was staring at him with wide eyes and parted lips. She had dropped the pen she was writing with. “What do you mean?” Her voice seemed unsure and he could see her red ears peeking out of her hair. He swallowed hard as he weighed different options to answer that question. He could hear his heart hammering in his chest. A minute passed by as they quietly stared at each, awkwardness blanketing them.
“This…this place I found. Thought you’d like it.” He finally managed to say. In the last moment he decided to change the meaning of what he asked her. It was too risky and he didn’t want whatever they had between them to completely disappear because of his stupidity.
“Oh?” It seemed like her voice had calmed down from the high-pitched voice before and he saw her shoulders sag. “I’m afraid I have decline. There is a lot of work I need to do.” She gave him a sorry smile. He shook his head immediately and he took a step towards her. “Ya gotta stop overworking your ass. Your progress will get affected.”
She shook her head at that. “I have been taking breaks. It’s fine.” She looked down at her work and picked the pen. He clicked his tongue out of annoyance and walked over to her in large strides and grabbed her wrist. “When was the last time you went out of this building?” He demanded. She was looking up a him with surprise. At least she wasn’t pulling herself away from him. “I went to the bank…” She gave him an awkward close eyed smile. “That was ages ago.” His grip tightened as he pulled her out of the chair. “You’re coming with me.”
“W-wait…” Her voice was hesitant and she halted. He looked back at her over his shoulder with a questioning look on his face. “Are you sure…about this?” Her voice was meek when she asked that and looked down. He gave her an incredulous expression. “I wouldn’t be here otherwise!” He let out an exacerbated sigh at that. He turned to face her completely, her wrist still in his grip. “What is it? I know you got something cooking in that head of yours.”
She finally looked up at him with wide eyes. She was shifting her weight from one foot to the other. “Well…you’re a hero and a lot of people know you. And villains come after me so I have to be careful.” He blinked at that. “Well, I don’t care what random ass people have to say about me hanging out with someone. As for your safety, you’ve got number 2 hero accompanying you. I’ll beat them up.” He had a slight pout on his face as he stared to his side while rubbing the back of his neck. He only looked her way when she giggled. He was stunned at what he saw. Her cheeks were dusted red and her eyes were closed with a cute smile on her face. He was taking it all in, burning it in to his memory, not realizing his cheeks were tingling.
She looked up at him with confidence swimming in her now bright eyes. “Okay.” He didn’t realize he had a huge grin on his face as he turned and started pulling her along with him. They were now walking side by side. After a while he realized he was still gripping her wrist and just thinking about it made his cheeks burn but he didn’t know what to do. It would seem weird if he suddenly removed his hand so he just kept holding it.
“So…what’s the special occasion today?” He heard her say beside him. He looked her way once and then forward “Hm?” He didn’t understand what she meant so he asked her to elaborate. “You seem to be in a good mood. Did something good happen?” She was looking up at him curiously and he felt himself slow his pace. “E-eh?” He internally facepalmed at himself stuttering so badly. “Is there anything wrong in that?” He was pouting now and looking to the side, not realizing his grip tightened around her wrist. She laughed at that and his eyes automatically shifted to her face. “No, silly. I was just curious what made you so happy.” He raised his eyebrow at her. He thought about what could have made him so happy and the only thing that came to his mind was the fact that she agreed to hang out with him. Just thinking about it made him embarrassed. There was no way he would agree to that outwardly.
“Ya gotta figure that out yourself.” With that he looked at the front. They finally reached the train station. They both got tickets and he didn’t let her pay no matter how much she protested. Once they settled in the train, she turned towards him with curious eyes and a small pout on her face. “You always tell me what’s up but why aren’t you telling me now?” It was his turn to be surprised. That was followed by a snort. She was fuming now and had her hands clenched in fists. She looked so cute right now, he could kiss her. His thoughts halted there as he stared at her quietly.
“Didn’t think you cared so much about me, Doll.” He had a soft smile on his face. He saw her halt and drop her loosened fists in her lap. She opened and closed her mouth like a fish as she tried searching for a way to answer. She finally let out a shaky breath and spoke something in a meek low tone which wasn’t audible to him because of the loud sound of trains and people chattering around them.
“What? I couldn’t hear ya.” He placed a hand behind his ear and leaned forward so that his ear is close to her face. He saw her stiffen from his periphery. “I do…care about you.” Her voice was low but this time it reached him. He stayed in the same position for a bit because his face was burning from what she just said and how close her voice was. He finally looked up when he had composed himself, with a smug grin on his face. “Awee. Was it that hard to admit, Doll?” She let out an exacerbated sigh and covered his face with her hand, pushing it away. He let out a chuckle at that and grabbed her wrist to pull the hand away. He saw her looking away from him but her ears betrayed her by poking out of her hair showing the red dusted over them.
Just them he heard the announcement and he realized it was their stop. This seemed like the quickest train ride he had ever taken. “That’s our stop.” He told her while standing up. He led her through the crowd, still holding her wrist.
They kept bickering back and forth for the rest of the way until they reached the foot of a hill. “Hiking?” She sounded unsure. “Just a little bit. But there’s a little surprise on top.” He told her while taking a step forward. She hummed in response and followed him.
They hadn’t even covered half of the hill when he heard a sound beside him causing him to look. He saw her slipping over a stone and was about to take a tumble. His body took action quickly and his arm was under her before he could think properly. Her body was pressed so close to him and he could feel her breath hitting his face. He was staring in to her wide E/C orbs. Her hands were gripping his shirt over his chest. He was hoping she wouldn’t feel the hammering of his chest. He snapped out of the trance when he heard her calling his name. “Yeah?” He didn’t realize his voice had deepened. “I…I’m okay now. You can…you can get up.” He nodded when she said that. He pulled her up with him, his arm still looped around her waist. He was a bit disappointed about how short this moment lasted but he didn’t let it sour his mood. “You’re such a klutz.” He gave her a disapproving nod. “You should come out more often.” Saying that he grabbed her hand this time, intertwining their fingers. She froze at that and gave him a questioning look. “To make sure you don’t tumble down.” He made an excuse because he was caught in the moment and didn’t think before grabbing her hand.
Soon they reached the top of the hill and heard her breath hitch beside her. This was the first sound he heard her make since she nearly tumbled down the hill. The top of the hill was covered in a lot of plants. It looked like a mix of green, purple, yellow and blue. There was a tree in the right which was covered in moss and there was an old swing hanging from it. The sun was beginning to set, casting orange shadows everywhere. “It’s so pretty.” She spoke while taking a few steps forward. She did a little twirl and she looked breathtaking as her white dress floated along with the wind and she seemed to glow. She was now looking at him, her head slightly tilted to the side with a closed smile and hands behind her back. She looked heavenly.
Before he knew it, he took his phone out and took a picture. The loud shutter caused her eyes to open wide and he cursed himself for not keeping his phone silent. Her eyes were wide as she rushed over to him with her hands out in a demanding way. “Give it to me.” Her cheeks were puffed up. “You looked nice. I can send it you…if you give me your number.” He gave her a smirk. Her mouth opened and closed like a fish as she pounced on him, trying to take the phone from him but he easily raised his hand over his head so the phone was out of her reach. “You can’t take it from me by force, armrest.” He chuckled as he rested his elbow on her head. She was fuming from anger at that and finally gave up. She pushed his arm away from her head and turned away. He watched her stomp away as he covered his mouth watching her being cute.
He saw her squatting down and touching the flowers with a gentle touch. He closed his eyes and imagined himself as that flower but his thoughts suddenly halted and he opened his eyes. What was he thinking just now? He shook his head and walked over to her. “You can take some to keep on your desk.” He squatted beside her. “I can?” She asked with a hopeful look in her eyes, the anger from before already melted in to thin air. He chuckled and nodded. “Why not? It’s free property.” He shrugged. She tilted her head out of confusion. “Oh? I thought it was someone’s property. It seems well kept.”
“I come here to train everyday so in my breaks I take care of these.” He saw the surprise on her face. “Oh? That’s nice.” She turned back to the plants and stared at them for a while. Then she stood up. “Eh? You’re not gonna take em?” He was confused as he stood up along with her. She shook her head. “They’ll die if I pick them. They are better taken care of here.” He shrugged at that. “Suit yourself.” He knew what kind of person she was by now and this response made complete sense to him. She has always been caring when any life is involved and that was the motivation behind the facility as well. He admired her for that. He was so lost in thought that he didn’t realize she wasn’t beside him.
He saw her beside the swing so he walked over to her. “Need my help, kiddo? How will you take the swing with those short legs?” He saw her cheeks puff up and she hmphed while sitting down. He chuckled and stood behind her. Her back was so close to him, he could feel the heat radiating from her body. She held on to the ropes and just sat like that, admiring the sunset, maybe? But then she looked at him over her shoulder. “Well?” He gave her a questioning look when she asked that. “Why aren’t you pushing me? You said you were gonna help.” He stared at her as he felt fire rising in his body and burning his throat and cheeks. He didn’t expect her to actually agree. He shook his head as he let out a chuckle. “As you wish, My Lady.” He bowed and then proceeded to grab the rope from both sides. He heard her chuckle at this response as he pulled the ropes back and let it go. He could hear the branch creaking as the swing moved.
She took a deep breath followed by a relaxed sigh. Her shoulders weren’t pulled up and her face didn’t have the stress lines anymore. “Thank you, Touya.” He heard her voice coming close and then moving far from him. “For what?” He genuinely didn’t know why she thanked him so out of the blue. “For bringing me here. I feel much better now.” He shook his head as he smiled wide while pushing the swing. “Told ya so.” He could never have guessed what happened in the next few seconds. He heard a snap and the swing was coming right at him. He heard her yelp as he tried to grab her. She collided with him as they both fell in to the ground, surrounded by the soft grass.
He finally opened his eyes after the impact and he felt like someone took his breath away. His hands were resting on her waist as she was sprawled on top of him, her back facing him. “Shit.” He finally spoke as he turned her towards him with slight worry. “You good?” He scanned her face, not realizing the proximity as he leaned further. Her hands were resting on his sides and he brought his up to cup her cheek and turn her head slightly. Then he grabbed her hands and examined them. It was now that he realized she was stiff and staring at him quietly.
He looked up with a worried expression on her face but before he could say anything, his voice was caught in his throat because he finally realized the proximity of their bodies and her lidded eyes. They were staring at each other quietly. He felt his head inching closer to her face and he saw her coping his movements. He could feel his cheeks burning and it seemed like his heart would come out of his chest. He saw her eyes closing and that was the last thing he saw before he felt her lips over his. He could feel their lips move in sync as he raised his hands to cup her cheeks. She was putting all her weight on him as she tried to lean closer even though their bodies were touching. It seemed like there were fireworks going on in his stomach. For a moment it seemed like it might finally work out between them, that their difference didn't matter. That she liked him as well. His tongue finally reached her lips as he tried to gain entry but he felt her halt.
Just then she pushed herself away from him. She was staring at him with wide eyes as she breathed deeply. He looked breathtaking. He smirked at her as he brushed his fingers through her hair. “That was unexpected, Doll.” His voice was soft and his eyes were lidded as his hand moved from her hair to her cheeks and he caressed that soft plump flesh. He saw the surprise on her face shift to horror as she shook her head. “No…I…it’s…I didn’t think. It was just a stupid thing I did in the moment.” She was pushing herself away from him while shaking her head. Her body was trembling and her voice was breaking. He felt something crack inside him as his face became sombre. “What do you mean?” His voice was heavy as he sat up. “I’m sorry.” With that she stood up and started walking away at a quick pace. He didn’t have it in him to follow her or ask anything further so he just saw her receding back, jaw clenched tightly. His eyes were burning as he let out a shaky breath while plopping back down in the grass when he couldn’t see her anymore. He covered his face with his arm and stayed still.
Note: I had promised that I was gonna post regularly but then disappeared. I didn't exactly have the motivation to continue plus I have a hectic schedule so I just pushed it aside. I apologize for that. I hope there are still people here who would read this and I hope you enjoy. Feedback would be nice.

As It Was
Dabi x Reader Angst
Warnings/tags: angst, hurt/no comfort, brief mentions of burns, major character death, pre-established relationship, reader cares for flowers
Synopsis: Dabi returns to you after completing his life's mission, his body now badly burned and damaged. He wonders, will you accept him with open arms? Will you take what is left of him?
Author's note: I've been on a Hozier binge. "As It Was" from Wasteland, Baby! was giving me major Dabi vibes. This is kind of different from the content I usually like to write and read, but I felt so inspired I just had to write it.
Word count: 1.1K
He’s now thankful your home is on the outer reaches of the city, tucked in a secluded pocket between the border of the forest and the concrete hell of the city. After what he’s done, there’s not a person in Japan that wouldn’t recognize his face. Had you not lived in the middle of nowhere, he’d already be arrested by some weak police officer or jumped by some rookie hero.
It’s ironic, the thinks, that his opinion has changed. He hated it, at one point. You lived so far away from his shitty apartment at the time, meaning that every time he wanted to see you, he had to take the agonizingly long train rides. It was like you lived in a fucking retirement community since all the elderly would take the same train, giving him judgemental stares all the while. It pissed him off to no end. And if that wasn’t enough, being in the forest always reminded him of Sekoto.
But still, he bore it all for you, back before he let his rage consume him.
Before he devoted himself entirely to revenge.
Before he started burning himself all over again.
Before he fucked it all up.
Despite the way he left you, he hopes you’ll be kind enough to him to accept his return, to not instantly slam the door in his face. If he even makes it to your doorstep, that is. Each step he takes feels like a battle between life and death. These heavy and labored movements exhaust him, made worse by the state your driveway is in. Of all the days for it to rain, it just had to be today. The torrential downpours make the path harder to traverse. Mud clings to his boots with every trudging step he takes, threatening to suck him into the earth, burying him at his final resting place.
The puddles of water settling in the tire tracks of your car show him grim reminders of his appearance, showing him glimpses of just how ghastly he’s become.
He’s a burnt husk of what he once was.
Nothing is left of him now that he's achieved his life’s purpose.
The only thing that remains of him is this homing instinct to return to you. To go back to the start.
To give you what’s left of him.
To feel his final sensation of comfort.
To feel loved again.
He’s faced with the reality of how long it’s been when he finally catches sight of your home. In the year he was by your side, he never saw those Foxgloves bloom once, as he met you in the late summer. But now, judging by the towering violet, bell-shaped flowers framing the sides of your window, it’s been three years. It’s in this moment that his mind replays the memory of the following summer, the one in which he noticed you agonizing over the flowerless plant beds. He remembers it, with surprising clarity amongst the mental fog.
“Why do you bother taking care of those stupid flowers if they never fucking bloom?” He asked you, critically.
“They’re foxgloves,” you answered.
“So?”
“So, they do bloom, just biennially, and their flowering season just passed. You’ll see why I keep ‘em around in another year,” you explained. The fact you even implied he’d still be in your life a year from then filled him with a sense of security. Whether you meant it or not, he took it as a promise, and kept it tucked in the darker reaches of his heart.
Three long years have passed since he left you, since he abandoned you without a word. But he has known you have a patient side to you, he’s seen it in the way you always gave him space in his darkest days, how you allowed him the time to come back to you when he was ready, how you never took his frustrating habit of pushing you away to heart, weathering his toxicity with love and carefulness. Maybe, since you’re so patient, you have been waiting for him. If you welcomed those flowers despite their long absence, maybe you’d accept him, too.
Normally, he’d sneer at the thought of you turning him into such a hopeless romantic, a weaker version of himself, but considering how there’s nothing left of him anyways, he’s fine with the idea. Maybe the positivity you give him would turn him into something beautiful again.
He finally climbs up to your doorstep and stumbles against the door. When his shaky and weak hands turn the knob, expecting to be met with a locked door, it turns easily without resistance. Your door is unlocked, which in his state of hopeful delusion, he interprets as you waiting for him. Maybe you knew he would come back. You had made it easy for him to crawl back into your life.
Or maybe you just forgot to lock it.
He swings open the door as he leans against the door frame. Any other time, the sound of the groaning hinges would grate at his ears, but right now, the sound feels familiar and comforting. It feels like nothing has changed, everything is as it once was. He trudges deeper into your home, shambling past your living room and tracking mud all over your floors. There’s a pit of anxiety forming in his stomach the longer he walks through your home without seeing a glimpse of you. It’s when he approaches the kitchen that he hears you humming, the sound calming his mind.
His boots thud on your tiled floor, loud, and uneven. He sways as he walks, bumping into one of your dining chairs, the movement scraping the chair against the floor. Your humming abruptly cuts off at the sound and you turn to the source, on high alert, only to see him propping himself up against the walls. A sharp gasp escapes your lungs.
All he can see is you as the edges of his vision grey out. Against your better judgment, you rush over to him as his legs start buckling underneath him.
He starts to collapse on the spot. You close the distance and open your arms around him, catching his fall and attempting to bear the brunt of his weight.
Despite what he’s done, despite how he left you so suddenly, he can still feel your love for him. It’s in the way you try to make sure he doesn’t fall, despite tripping being the least concern to him given his injuries. It’s how your voice sounds frantic as you ask him if he’s okay if he can hear you, if he’s still in there. It’s how you start to sob at seeing the state he’s in.
You’re so worried about getting him to lie on the ground safely and checking his pulse that you fail to see him softly smiling at how you fuss over him, what’s left of his burnt face forcing out a peaceful expression.
The last thing he hears, the last thing he feels, the last thing he thinks about, is you.

Perspective | Part 3
Warning: It has spoilers from manga so don't read it if you aren't caught up.

Word count: 2.2k
Pairing: Touya Todoroki x Reader (Female)
Synopsis: Touya has become a hero, fulfilling his father's wish. He wanted Endeavor to be proud of him. Then why is this emptiness chasing him everywhere? Why can't he fit in with everyone else? Is this really what he wanted? All his thoughts and concepts about the hero society are left in chaos when he meets a certain villain.
Note: There is just Fuyumi in this story because Touya has achieved what Endeavor wanted.
Parts: |Part 1| |Part 2| |Part 3| |Part 4| |Part 5| |Part 6| |Part 7|
It was a normal day for Touya. He woke up earlier than everyone as usual. He went to train at his usual spot, the Sekoto Peak. It had gotten much prettier than the last time he completely destroyed this place as a child. His quirk had gotten out of control, burning everything to ash but now this peak was completely covered in grass and some pretty looking flowers and lots of trees. The only flowers he recognized were the ones his mother always has in her windowsill, Rindou.
There was a swing attached to one of the trees. He had decided to build one in his free time. That’s where he used to take short breaks between his gruelling training sessions. He was rubbing his jaw between his thumb and index finger as he walked away from Sekoto Peak, deep in thought.
Like usual, he was walking the streets, looking for any trouble that needs solving. Around this time, he could hear his stomach begging for food so he stopped at a café to get a coffee and ham and cheese croissant. When he got out of the café after eating, he saw a few thugs pushing away a girl, way smaller in size than them, in to an alleyway.
His eyes narrowed as he slowly followed them without making any noise. As soon as he entered the alleyway, he could hear those people speak. “You have any idea how hard it was for us to cause all that damage to that man?” one of them spoke while the others chimed in with their approval. “You just had to go and save his life! The person who is going to kill our whole gang. Where is your self-righteous proclaim of saving all, huh?”
Touya blinked at everything he just heard. Everything was going over his head. He didn’t understand what was going on. The only thing he understood was that the girl was in trouble and those men were up to no good. He saw those men grab her collar and lift her up in the air. He was waiting for an opening because the girl was too close. He didn’t want to injure her with his quirk. As soon as the guys threw her on the floor in front of them, he activated his quirk and burnt those men enough to neutralize them.
Touya ran towards them as the three men fell back from the girl, still trying to process what was happening. He was now standing between them and the girl. “What the hell do you punks think you’re doing?” he spoke with a fighting stance. “Stop…” He heard a weak voice behind him. He felt someone pull on his long coat from behind. His face scrunched up and he looked back at her. “What are you talkin-”
He wasn’t able to finish his sentence because of a hard blow on his face. He fell back but he tried to break his fall because he didn’t want to flatten the girl under him. He growled as he faced those men again. Before he could punch the daylights out of them, he felt a strong grip on his wrist. With a loud whoosh of wind their surroundings changed. Touya looked around and realized he was standing on the entrance of the same alleyway. He looked down at the girl who was now pulling him along. “Hurry up! Before they catch up.” He heard her speak. Touya was too lost in trying to understand the situation so he just did as he was told. They stopped outside a building with old architecture. They were surrounded by woods with no proper roads leading to this building.
“What the hell was that?!” Touya finally spoke. The girl finally turned around to face him. He stared in to the E/C orbs. “Your nose is bleeding and there’s a cut on your cheek.” She pointed at his face while saying that instead of answering his question. “Let’s get you fixed up. I owe you for saving my life.” She turned around while saying that and entered the building.
Touya stupidly followed her inside. The first thing he picked up as he entered the building was the sharp distinct smell of disinfectant that you usually find in a hospital. His brows furrowed when he saw a big hall filled with lots of beds and curtains for privacy. He had the urge to go out and look at the building properly because it didn’t look like a hospital from outside but he held this urge. Instead, he followed the girl inside a room that looked like an office. He had seen people lying down on two beds with curtains pushed away. One of them was asleep while the other was awake and coughing loudly. Both of them had drips attached to their hands. Other than that, it was eerily quiet.
Inside the office, he saw a table in the middle with a revolving chair behind it. There was a wooden bookshelf on the right wall which had lots of books. The table was mostly empty except a writing pad and a pen holder which had different kinds of pen in it. There was a photo frame but it was turned down so he couldn’t see the picture. Instinctively, his hand went to grab it but before he could, there was an iron grip on his wrist. His eyes widened and he looked up to see a completely different person. The girl wasn’t supporting the soft expression from earlier. It was like a switch flipped and she was glaring at him. “Whatever you do, don’t ever touch this.” Her voice was so much colder in comparison. His voice was caught in his throat and all he could do was nod. She let go of his wrist and pointed at the revolving chair. “Sit.” That was all she said and he obliged.
He watched her rummaging through the drawers in the table. She pulled out a box which contained gauze and some ointments. She turned towards him and kept staring at his face. He felt slightly uncomfortable under that gaze. It was different from the ones he was used to. All the girls looked at him with adoration and here she was examining his face closely with a critical look on her face. “What?” He finally spoke. She hummed at him questioningly while cupping his cheeks in her hands. He froze at that but this wasn’t the end of it. She was leaning down, closer to his face. Instinctively, he pushed her away and stood up, towering over her easily. He could feel tingling in his cheeks. “What do you think you’re doing?” his voice came out, accusingly. Touya was sensitive about the scar around his jaw. It wasn’t visible from afar but she must have seen it, considering how close her face was to his.
“Eh?” Her face scrunched up. She was looking up at him with a confused face. “I was looking for any other injuries I might be missing out on.” She placed her hand on his shoulders and pushed him down. “Your nose is bleeding a lot. We need to stop it quickly.” He realised that her tone was back to normal. He sat down and she told him to bend forward. Then she pinched his nose and told him to hold it in that spot until she tells him to stop.
She turned away from him and produced a cotton ball held by forceps. He could smell the spirit all the way here. “This will sting a little.” She told him and slowly rubbed it over the cut on his cheek. He could tell she was good at all this because he has been treated by many medical specialists but none of them treated his wounds as gently as she was. He was used to the sting and he was sure if this continued, he would fall asleep. The cotton was replaced by cool ointment. He didn’t realize when he closed his eyes until he felt her shaking his shoulder. He hummed and looked up at her. She was pointing at his hand pinching his nose and telling him to remove it, so he did. “Did you just fall asleep? You weren’t responding.” She asked him.
“You’re good.” He smiled up at her. He saw her eyes widen and she took a step away from him. “You’re weird.” Touya chuckled at that and leaned back in to the chair with a sigh of relief. “You can leave now.” She told him while packing everything up after throwing the trash away. “Don’t forget. You owe me.” He had a lopsided grin on his face as he rested his hands behind his head.
“Excuse me?” She turned towards him with a questioning look on her face. “An explanation. What is this place? Who were those guys? Why are they after you?” He let the curiosity get the best of him and bombarded her with these questions. She raised her eyebrow at him. “Hold your horses. You can’t expect me to tell all this to a random stranger.” She put away the box and closed the drawer.
“Ouch.” Touya placed a hand on his chest. “If you tell me all that then we can file a report and get rid of those men once and for all.” She shook her head at the idea. “No. I can’t do that.” Touya sat up in the chair. “Why? I can keep you safe if you are worried about any of them blackmailing you. I am one of the top heroes. They don’t stand a chance!” He noticed her look change as soon as he mentioned heroes. She blinked at him and it seemed like her face was slightly pale. “Top hero…?” Her voice seemed distant and unsure. “Leave. Now. And don’t ever come back.” Her voice held finality in it.
Touya’s brows furrowed and now he was standing. He grabbed both her arms. “Tell me exactly what this place is or else I’ll notify the authorities and find out myself.” He saw the colour drain from her face completely. “It’s nothing you heroes would ever understand.” Her voice was low and icy. Her face was tilted downwards. “You heroes are nothing but fake.” She finally looked up at him and he was taken aback by all the emotion swimming in her eyes. “You people only care about your image, being famous and getting all that attention and money while others suffer on your behalf.” She pushed him away from her. “You have any idea how many people suffer because of you people? Health facilities should be providing care for all but these people…” She pointed at the door outside which was the makeshift ward he saw. “They have no where to go as they slowly die because of diseases and injuries. There is no one to take care of them. No one to provide them with a proper burial even. Just because they are villains or labelled as one.”
Touya was taken aback by all that. He never even considered all of this. It was like he was being introduced to a whole new world. Everything he knew and believed in was being proved wrong to him and he seemed to have no way to defend it. “Those men…why were they attacking you then?” his voice was sombre now. “Unlike your facilities, I provide care to all without any bias.” Touya finally understood what had happened. She unknowingly saved a man who was a part of some yakuza feud and now they were after her for saving a guy they thought they had killed who planned to ruin their gang.
“You got what you asked for. Now leave and never come back.” She turned away from him with her hands on her arms. “Aren’t you being a little biased here?” He spoke with a sad smile on his face. “Anything that can be a threat to this facility will not be tolerated.” He saw her grip tighten on her arms. “Well, you don’t have worry about that. I won’t tell anyone.” He spoke with a sigh. “You want me to believe you? A hero?” She scoffed in return and turned towards him. “Tell me a better joke.” Her voice was bitter. Touya took a step forward with a determined look on his face. “Then tell me. What can I do that would make you believe that I am not lying?” He could tell she was taken aback because of her wide eyes and parted lips. The step she was about to take back stopped and she stood still. “You…you’re weird.” Her voice was low and unsure as she turned away and walked out of the office.
Touya was thinking about the first time he met Y/N. It was a roller coaster and it seemed like he got a slap of reality that day. His vision had broadened that day and he realized that it wasn’t as simple as heroes and villains. Just as there is no black and white. There is sometimes a grey patch which is neither black nor white.
He sighed and got out of bed. Today, instead of going to train like usual he went to the facility. He found Y/N in her office. The photo frame still on the table with the same mystery surrounding it. But this time he knew better to not touch it. She looked up when the door opened suddenly. Her confusion melted away when she recognized him. “Let’s go out.” He spoke with a soft smile on his face.
Note: I apologize for the late update. I had lost motivation to write anything but after reading the recent bnha chapter I got the motivation I needed. I will try to update the next chapter as soon as possible. I hope you all like this chapter. It will take a while for the next chapter because I have night shifts these days but I will definitely post it.

Parts: |Part 1| |Part 2| |Part 3| |Part 4| |Part 5| |Part 6| |Part 7|
Touya was mopping in his room with his face covered in bandages. His face was turned towards a wall as he let out a frustrated sigh. He couldn't believe he was on house arrest. His family, especially his father was worried sick of his disappearance after he ran into the bank which had now turned into ashes. He hit his forehead lightly against the wall a few times. He stopped only when he heard a knock on the door. He sighed as his shoulders dropped. “I said leave me alone. How many times do I ha-“ He didn’t get the chance to complete his sentence because his father barged in. He was surprised that his father even considered knocking this time. “Touyaaaaaaa!” Yelled his dear old daddy as he stomped towards him.
He remained quiet and didn’t make a move to turn towards him. “Your house arrest ends today thanks to my connections! So get up! We have a lot of work to do! You’re the best one at my agency and in the past week, the ratings have dropped. We have no time to waste right now!” He felt his father’s hands on his shoulders. He gritted his teeth and pulled himself out of his grasp. He turned around with a glare. “. It is always about you and what you want! Leave me the fuck alone for once.”
With that, he stomped out of the room. Fuyumi and Mother came rushing towards him as he walked towards the main door, trying to stop him but all he saw was red. He grabbed Fuyumi’s wrist to push her hand away from him but he didn’t realize his quirk activated because of his unstable emotions. He saw her eyes widen and pull away from him. He quietly but swiftly walked out of the house. He was staring at his hand which he used to burn his own sister, guilt creeping inside him as he walked away from the house. He used the same hand to push his bangs away. He ended up lighting a cigarette as he beelined to the same facility. He felt at peace there. He didn’t have to force himself to act a certain way. He could say or do whatever the fuck he wanted without any consequences. At home and in the hero world he had to walk on eggshells.
He slammed his foot on the main door and walked in like he owned the place. Every time he came here before was in his hero suit. This was the first time he was wearing casual clothes. A simple hoodie with jogger pants. He sauntered over to her room and opened it without knocking. He saw her stiffen and look up from the drawer. “Yo.” He watched the expression on her face get sour. She slammed the drawer shut and glared at him. “You’re supposed to knock and didn’t we agree that you won’t come again if I stay with you?” She scanned his face with narrowed eyes. He just shrugged in response. He was surprised even now that she agreed to stay with him that day he got a injured while saving her but placed a condition which he knew he won’t ever fulfil. He sat down on the revolving chair with his feet on the table. He blew out a ring of smoke on her face when she walked over to him. He watched her cough and wave the smoke away from her face. “What do you want, Touya?”
“You.” He said simply and watched her stiffen. He smirked at the response he got. “What do you want me for? Your wounds are already treated.” He watched her avert her gaze while saying that to him. “Won’t you ask where your dearest Touya got them from?” He watched her face scrunch up in disgust initially. “I was wondering why you didn’t show up in the past week. That’s the longest you’ve been gone.” She asked while turning away from him. “Awe, you really missed me, Y/N?” He made sure to use her name. “You’re high.” She said simply and started walking out of the room. Like a baby duck following its mother duck, Touya stood up and followed her.
“I was on house arrest after my feat at the bank. I fought back and tried to get away but I ended up with this.” He pointed at his face. He watched her nod while wearing gloves. She was getting ready to check people in the ward. That’s how he spent many hours with her without realizing it and completely forgetting all the worries at home. He stretched his back even though she should be the one doing it after checking countless patients but she seemed fresh and active. “How long do you plan to stay?” She asked him while sanitizing herself. “For as long as I can.” He replied with a shrug. He watched her turning towards him with a knowing glint in her eyes. “You know you could have just said you had a fight with your dad.” He blinked at those words. He didn’t expect her to guess this but then again he has done this in the past too many times. For her to acknowledge that and see the pattern meant she thinks about him and that made him happy.
He was too shocked to reply so she gestured with her head towards the stairs that lead to her place. “Wanna talk about it?” Those four words had a lot attached to them. She would pull out two beers from the fridge and they would go to the balcony. They would talk about their worries while drinking away the night. That was when he had nearly kissed her. Since then, she stopped suggesting that and he was too scared to ask her about it. So, he was surprised when she suggested it this time. Without thinking things through he nodded and followed her up the stairs. He waited for her to take out the beers from the fridge and they made their way to the balcony. He was done with his cigarette hours ago so he pulled out two this time. He handed her the second one and lit her cigarette with it. He then pocketed his lighter and leaned forward after placing his cigarette between his lips. He touched their ends and inhaled causing his cigarette to light up.
He had seen her wide E/C orbs shining in the moonlight. She nearly dropped her cigarette because of her parted lips. “Careful,” he said while holding the cigarette for her. He saw her delicate hands take it from him while firmly holding it between her lips. He leaned away from her and they both stared at the night sky quietly.
“It was the usual. That man thinks this world only revolves around him.” He heard her scoff. “That’s nothing new. Heroes need to come down from their high horses.” He watched her turn her head to look at him. She flinched suddenly and waved her hands in front of her. “I didn’t mean you…or you being the same as other heroes.” She seemed flustered which made him smirk. “Oh? You think I am different from other heroes? Better, I suppose? Considering your reaction.” He received a deadpanned face in return. “Worse.” She turned away from him while saying that. That made him laugh out loud. He flinched as a light gasp left his mouth. He glared at Y/N who had touched his neck with the cold beer bottle. Even though his body had more durability for cold, he had been in much higher temperatures because of his quirk so he still wasn’t used to cold and she knew this weakness of his which she exploited every chance she got.
He pouted while taking the bottle from her. He hit it on the railing and opened it easily. He handed the open bottle to her and took the other one from her. He opened it for himself and took a large swig. “This time was different.” He looked at his empty hand and clenched his fist. “I hurt Fuyumi out of anger.” His shoulders dropped contrary to all the emotional baggage he dropped on her. “I don’t know how to face her.” He looked back up and chugged the rest of the beer. He looked at her only to find a frown on her face. “What?” He asked out of curiosity. “That’s it?” She countered him. “What do you mean?” He saw her shaking her head with a sigh as if he did something dumb. “Just buy ice cream and soap operas. Then apologize to her.” He watched her with an incredulous expression on his face which turned into a scowl quickly. “Ice cream and soap operas won’t fix those burns on her wrist!” She shook her head. “It won’t fix the external injury but it will fix the internal one.” She said while placing a hand on his chest which caused him to freeze. “And that is more important. You can help her ice the burns later too.” He blinked at those words. Before he knew it, he had his arms wrapped around her tightly. He buried his face in her hair only to be met by the familiar scent of cocoa butter. He was lost in that scent and familiar yet unfamiliar touch to realize what she said. “Oi! What do you think you’re doing?” He felt her hands pushing him away. “I ain’t helping her ice the burns. It is already embarrassing enough.”
He finally let her go but his hands still rested on her shoulders. He looked right into those familiar E/C eyes that held so much warmth in them that he could feel it melting all over him. “Thanks, Doll.” She shrugged in response. “Thank me once it actually works.” That caused his eyes to widen enough for them to fall out of the sockets if they weren’t connected in the back. “There is a chance it might not work?!” He was louder than usual as he shook her. She swatted his hands away from her. “Nothing has a hundred percent probability of working. Even if your sister is so caring and kind-hearted.” He groaned at that and turned away from her. “Just give me another beer. I’m crashing here.” He was surprised that she remembered everything he told her about his sister.
“No, you’re not. You’re gonna buy what I told you to and go back home. Trust me. Has anything I told you to do gone bad till now?” He shook his head. She was correct about that. Every advice she gave him, no matter how ridiculous, worked every time. It was like she had a Master's degree in Touya and knew every remedy to fix things for him. “Fine. I’ll do it. Only because I trust you, Doll.” He turned towards her and flicked her forehead. He watched her cover her forehead with a groan. “You’re the worst!” With that, she stomped inside because he was laughing at her cute face.
He left the facility and went straight to the shop where Fuyumi liked to shop for soap operas. He bought a few new arrivals. He knew every director and actor she liked so he picked according to that. Then he went to a convenience store where he bought ice cream for her. He could feel his stomach doing flips the closer he got to the house. He swallowed hard as his finger rested on the bell. After rehearsing everything in his head a hundredth time he pressed the button. As soon as he did he heard loud quick footsteps rushing towards the door. He saw a worried Fuyumi on the other side of the door. As soon as their eyes met, she jumped over him and wrapped her arms around him. “You’re okay! I’m so glad! I was so worried for you!” He had frozen in her embrace. It took a while but he slowly melted in her embrace. When she pulled away, he had forgotten everything he had rehearsed in the past hour.
He stuck his hand out which held all the goods. “I’m sorry for hurting you.” He looked away because he could feel smoke coming out of his ears and his cheeks were burning. He wanted to set fire to himself and turn to ashes when Fuyumi giggled and accepted the ice cream and soap operas. She grabbed his hand and pulled him inside. “Let’s watch this together!” He groaned because he was responsible for torturing himself. He realized he turned into a masochist after meeting Y/N but he felt relief along with it. Her advice worked. The guilt, anger and frustrations that he carried with him while walking out of this house had disappeared into thin air as if they never existed. It seemed like Y/N possessed a deadly quirk to get rid of all the negative emotions.
Note: I hope you all like this chapter. I did say the schedule for this story won't be consistent but this was a bit too late so I apologize. I had exams and then I got busy with family. I don't know when the next chapter will be posted. I am now in the last year of my degree which means my schedule will be packed.

He was on top of a high building staring at the horizon late at night. The city lights were bright and there was distant chatter. He stared at everything with a cigarette between his fingers as the world moved at its own pace. He became a hero just like his father wanted. His wish was to become a son his father would be proud of. He achieved all that but there was still emptiness that was slowly creeping closer day by day and he didn’t understand how to get rid of it.
He pressed the cigarette butt on the concrete in front of him and turned around to leave. Everyone was unbothered, living their life as he walked past them like a tiny speck of dust. Everything was in harmony but it seemed like his existence was insignificant. He just couldn’t bring himself to merge into this harmony. He was only capable of disrupting it. As a hero he had to walk the thin line to make sure he doesn’t mess things up.
Since he met that villain, his ideals were shattered. He no longer knew what is right and what is wrong. He was beginning to doubt the hero society. He wasn’t even sure what it really meant to be a hero and a villain. He found himself walking the same path he had been for the past few months. He had a few injuries scattering his body after fighting off some bad guys. That was the only excuse he needed to visit her.
He walked inside the big building which she referred to as facility. He found himself knocking the door to a familiar office. He heard those same footsteps coming closer. Soon she opened the door and was met with E/C orbs. He smirked while pointing at his bleeding nose and forehead. “Need some patching, Doll.” He watched her sigh while shaking her head and opened the door wide for him to enter.
She took out the first aid kit from the drawer of her working table. He sat down on the chair he always sat in and she began cleaning his wound. “You do realize these are simple injuries and you can take care of them yourself instead of coming all the way here.” He noticed her calculating eyes and stable hands as she spoke in a cautious tone. “Don’t forget you owe me this, Doll. Why would I do it myself when I got you?” He was trying hard to control the way his heart fluttered in his chest from the way she gently cleaned his wounds. “For all I know, you could be collecting information to rat me out, pretty boy.” He felt her aggressively spread the ointment over the cut on his forehead.
It made sense if he placed himself in her shoes. How she was labelled as a villain by the society, he didn’t understand. All she did was provide a safe medical facility to those who couldn’t go to a regular hospital for any reason. Even though medical facilities should be available to everyone. Most of her clients were villains. He hummed in reply and then smirked. “Why would I rat you out? I get free treatment from a hottie.” He watched her turn away from him to discard the waste and close the first aid box. “You should stop coming here, Touya. You bring danger to this facility and all those people who come here for treatment.” He quietly watched her fiddle with the box for a few seconds. “Okay.” His voice was low as he stood up and started walking towards the door.
“Just know that I don’t think what you’re doing here is wrong and there is no chance I would tell anyone bout it.” With a heavy heart he walked out of the office and the facility. He knew this was wrong to begin with but he just couldn’t help himself. This is how it played out every time. She would tell him to not come back but she would still treat him anyway. This time though, he actually agreed. One part of his brain told him that this was wrong but there was another part telling him that it was fine. He felt uncomfortable around her but it seemed like he was addicted to her at the same time. He didn’t understand what was going on with him. He wanted someone to diagnose him and treat the disease he was suffering from.
Touya hated doing paperwork which is why he would never go to the agency in the morning. He would just go out and about saving people here and there. Sometimes he would catch small fries but today he was sure he was going to find a big one. Just like the day he was debuted for saving so many lives by destroying a well-known villain within seconds. The only downside was that he was too focused on fighting the villain and eradicating him so there was a lot of collateral damage and it endangered the lives of people in the area. He has been lectured about that so many times but he would just groan in return and say “I saved their lives not endanger them! It ain’t my fault they shat their pants.” They would always counter him that he was being rude and saving lives has many aspects than just destroying the villains.
He stretched his arms above his head as he walked the familiar streets of the city. He didn’t visit her in the past week. He realized that his emptiness grew even more during this period. Everything was peaceful for now, until he saw the familiar H/C hair. His eyes widened and he started running after her before he thought things through. He only got a glimpse of her before she disappeared in to the crowd. He tried squeezing in but received a slap from some random woman who was calling him a pervert for touching her ass. When he focused on the last place he saw that girl, she was gone. He could feel his heart hammering in his chest. He clicked his tongue in annoyance and walked away from the crowd.
Just then he realized he subconsciously walked to the same place where he first met her. He shook his head and decided to go to a different district. There was a small fry trying to rob a bank but he took care of it easily and handed him to the police. Just as he was walking out of the scene, he heard a familiar voice which made him grimace. It was enough to take away a few years off his life. “Toouyaaa!” Shouted his father from behind him. He was forced to slow down.
He was staring at the ground with his hands in his pockets when he felt Endeavor's arm wrap around his shoulders. “Touya, my boy. How are things on your side?” he laughed right after. “Cut to the chase, Endeavor.” Touya finally looked up. Just as Endeavor opened his mouth there was a loud blast right behind them. They turned around to see the bank which was burning and it was blown to smithereens. All heroes ran towards it, including them. Touya ran inside despite Endeavor calling his name and telling him they need to take out the fire and that the bank was evacuated. None of these wannabe heroes saw the shadow in the top floor window.
He didn’t feel that hot once he was inside. He was used to such temperatures. He was quickly navigating the building. He found the backstairs and started climbing up. He started coughing a little bit because of all the smoke as he went up. He covered his nose and mouth with his arm to reduce its exposure. He finally reached the room where he had seen the shadow from the window. He slammed the door open and was met with even more smoke which caused his eyes to water but he bulldozed inside.
His eyes widened when he saw a man lifting that same girl by her neck. Her small hands were resting over his much bigger ones. She was trying to say something but the lack of air prevented her to. He growled as he kicked that man on his back. He heard a cracking sound along with his screams of agony. They both dropped to the floor. The girl was on her knees and coughing as he looped his arm around her waist. “Ya’ gotta explain what the fuck just happened here.” He said while turning towards the window. He was planning to break it and jump out.
“No…you mustn’t be here…leave...” The girl’s voice was hoarse and cracking but he didn’t care about it. He broke the window with his elbow and just as he was about to jump out, he heard a shot. He groaned as his left flank seemed like it was on fire. He could feel the warm liquid trickling down his skin. He was losing his balance because of the smoke. One bullet shouldn’t cause enough damage for him to pass out, or so he thought. Suddenly it seemed like he was underwater as he wobbled trying to climb the window. “The spleen…” was all he heard her say before he toppled back and his vision became dark.
He groaned because it seemed like he hit his head somewhere and now it was cracked open. He placed a hand on his forehead and pushed his hair back. He tried opening his eyes but it was too bright. His nose was filled with the sharp smell of disinfectant. This reminded him about what had happened. He was about to sit up but a sharp pain shot down his flank and he hissed in pain. He looked up with bleary eyes when he felt a hand on his chest. “Don’t move around. You already lost too much blood. Your wound will open up.” It was the same girl he saw everywhere, the one driving him crazy. He was hoping she doesn't feel his heart beating loudly in his chest.
He groaned and laid back down. He watched her sit on the seat beside his bed. “What the fuck?” He said while placing an arm over his eyes. “No need to be stingy, Pretty Boy. I saved your life.” The girl replied and he felt a dip in the bed. He peeked from under his arm. He saw her feet resting on the bed. His elvis muscle pulled up and he closed his eyes once more. He was trying to get rid of this suffocating feeling. He always seems to make a fool out of himself in front of her. “I saved your life first.” He didn’t move from his position. “Yeah right. You passed out on me like some high school girl.” She countered back and he was once more tongue tied.
Touya removed his arm from his face and focused on her face. She was leaning back in the seat, her head resting on her hands as she stared at the ceiling. “Since when did Villains started saving heroes?” She scoffed at his question and looked him straight in the eyes. “You heroes have a distorted image of villains in your minds.” She spoke while standing up. She stretched her arms and back, then started to walk out of the room. She stopped at the doorway and looked back. “Leave once you have recovered.” That weird fluttery feeling from before was back in his chest. “You told me to stop coming here. They could have taken me to the hospital. So why?” He grimaced while pushing himself up on his elbow. He didn’t know why but he didn’t want her to leave his side. He couldn’t believe how desperate he had gotten.
“I only saved your life in return for saving mine. That’s all there is to it.” He felt his breath hitch at those words. He was suddenly feeling warm, as if his quirk was activated. Why can’t he behave normally in front of her? What was so different about her? He didn’t know. All he could do was watch her walk away…or so he thought. “Stay” It left his mouth before he could stop himself.
His body froze just as hers. He could feel tingling in his cheeks. He immediately laid back down and covered his face with his arm. He was sure she would just tell him to leave as soon as possible and walk away. She would stop treating him if he showed up unannounced. She would tell him to completely forget about everything that happened between them. He was already preparing himself to forget those soft hands gently treating his wounds. Those eyes filled with slight worry as she treated some of his serious wounds. Those times they drank beer together as she talked excitedly about her ambitions. Those times they badmouthed their parents together. That one time they were too drunk and leaned too close, with their lips brushing slightly. The way his hand rested so perfectly on her waist. The way her breath felt so warm and cozy over his face. The way she looked in to his eyes. The way he whispered sweet nothings in to her ear because she was having a bad day. He understood finally what he was suffering from but it was followed by a realization that it can never work out because he is a hero and she is a villain.
Note: I don't usually write fanfics or have much experience with posting them. This story won't have a proper schedule because I am busy with University. I haven't decided how many parts it will have just yet but I don't plan to make it too long. If you like it then leave likes and comments. I'd love to have some feedback before I post the next part.

As sympathetic as many of the characters in the League of Villains are, I'm frustrated by the number of people who seem to view them as a righteous group of plucky underdogs. This isn't about people who just think a character is hot and make horny art of them. It's about sincerely trying to argue that we should be rooting for them because they have some genuinely good points about flaws in their society.
Thing is, these characters do reveal serious flaws in their society. Shigaraki was able to be adopted and manipulated by AFO because everyone assumed that a lost child was someone else's problem. Touya was abused and pushed to a mental breaking point as a child because of Enji's relentless pursuit for a power that would make himself feel better. Toga was ostracized and treated as a freak because her quirk is deeply alarming to people. Jin fell into homelessness and despair because his boss fired him for something that was an accident. Spinner grew up smothered by anti-heteromorph prejudice. We don't get a lot of details about Magne's backstory, but knowing she was trans, we can guess at a lot. The members of the League are all deeply damaged, traumatized people who have, in various ways, been let down by society.
It's easy to sympathize with them because we can all see how, in that position, what they decide to do might seem like it made sense. It's easy to sympathize with them because the problems they face (neglect, abuse, and bigotry) are all things that affect our own society. There's a sense of justice in wanting to tear down a system that's caused you to suffer that much.
But however much we can sympathize with their pain, we shouldn't forget the choices they've made or the actions they've taken. And we shouldn't ignore the fact that their choices and actions are moving them further from the things they really want.
Shigaraki isn't trying to reform society. He doesn't want to tear the current system down so that he can build something better. He wants to tear things down for the sheer sake of destroying them and taking out his rage and pain on everyone else.
Jin's death hits hard because the reason he ends up dying is that he won't give up on his friends. Hawks sees Jin's loyalty and kindness to his friends and realizes that he has a good heart deep down. But Jin's final act is to brutally murder a hero for trying to apprehend Toga and Compress. Their lives weren't in danger.
Touya wants revenge on his father. Understandable, but one of the first things we learn about him is that he's responsible for several random murders. We see him kill a band of petty thieves simply because he decides they aren't powerful enough to be useful to the League. Those murders have nothing to do with his relationship with his father (well. Everything he does has to do with his relationship to his father, but you take my point). And his desire is specifically for vengeance. It isn't enough for him that Enji's crimes and cruelty be exposed. He's not just trying to say, "This man is not the person you think he is, and you shouldn't hold him up as an ideal figure." He wants Enji to suffer. He wants to inflict as much pain as he can.
Toga just murders people because she likes them. Her idea of loving someone is to literally consume them.
And their end goal isn't a better world. It's chaos and anarchy. They want to destabilize society and then provide the arms and ideology that would turn it into a libertarian dystopia. Thing is, that wouldn't actually get them what they want or need.
Take Spinner for instance. We know that in the chaotic times just after quirks appeared, heteromorphs faced intense and dangerous discrimination and hate everywhere. While it's true that heteromorphs still face discrimination and even violence, especially in rural areas, we've also seen that knocking out the social order only makes that worse (think of the woman who Deku saves. She couldn't get into any shelters because she's a heteromorph, even though she was in the middle of the city).
Touya is certainly getting his vengeance on his father, but it isn't getting him what he actually wanted which is acknowledgement from Enji that he is good enough. Having Shoto fight him instead of Enji is one of the worst outcomes he could have gotten, because it is still a refusal to acknowledge him in Touya's eyes (Strictly speaking, it was actually an acknowledgement of the fact that he is probably stronger than Enji, but Touya clearly doesn't see it that way).
Toga, I think, really wants acceptance for who she really is. Her quirk frightens people, and it seems inherently villainous. But the actions she's taking only make her more terrifying to others, and I think she's also mistaken to think that her violent and murderous actions are an expression of her "true self."
And Shigaraki... well he's probably the most difficult case. All he wanted at the beginning of the story was destruction. But it's hard to get a read on him in any accurate way because of the extent to which he's been molded and manipulated by AFO into his current state. I think we can get more insight into him by looking at what desires and motivations AFO played on. As a small child, Shigaraki was angry (and rightly so) about the way his family treated him, and then at the way the rest of the world ignored him. AFO fanned his anger and resentment and actively twisted his experiences until now he can't escape the idea that there's nothing good in the world at all. But we also know that he's wrong about that. The only hope for him at this point is that Deku can show him that he's wrong.
The hurt and anger that the members of the League live with are real and valid. They've each experienced things that would turn most people bitter and angry. Those things make them deeply human and sympathetic. But it's possible to sympathize or even empathize with someone's pain without giving them a free pass to become violent murderers and terrorists.
One of the most important themes in the story is that people aren't defined by the things that happened to them in the past, but by the choices they've made in response. The League serves as a vital foil to the main characters because they've made opposite choices at nearly every turn. Trying to wave those choices away and make these characters out to be basically good people whose actions are justified by their situations (as opposed to being explained by their situations) destroys that theme.

TO LOVE IS TO…
tiny glimpses into touya todoroki’s journey of learning to love.
a series by: @missmeinyourbones

TAGS: hurt/comfort, elements of angst and fluff, a slice of life, canon universe, mentions of touya’s background & family dynamics, mentions of blood and injury, nsfw content to come (MDNI, 18+)
STATUS: ongoing !
SUMMARY: Touya knows nothing of love. He’s used to just barely making it by unscathed, with his tail between his legs and a yearning for something he’s never known. With your gentle patience now under his wing, he begins to think that maybe love isn’t an anomaly, after all. Maybe together the two of you can learn that to love is to…
#001: ACCEPT
What he does know is that he’s selfish. Because in this very moment, Dabi wants to stay here forever. He wants to relish in your good, despite his own evil. He wants you all to himself, for himself.
#002: NOTICE
All of this pans out as you stand there, mentally shaking your head as you let one another play each other for puppets—no one is winning, but knowing you need one another in the silliest of ways tastes like a victory all on it’s own.
#003: COMPROMISE
“You like me that way,” he’s quick to return, grabbing the hand that just flicked him and pressing a gentle sloppy peck to the heel of your palm.
#004: TRUST
You deserve better, is what he means to say. You deserve someone who won’t put you in these positions. Someone who doesn’t need to scare you in order to have the chance to love you properly.
#005: REMEMBER
And for once, it’s untouched and solely his own. It doesn’t sound like the broken whisper of his mother, it sounds like him. But it doesn’t remind him of his younger and weakened self, it reminds him of you.
# MORE TO COME !

The Science behind Erasure
-it's actually ingenious!!
SO recently I wondered....if Aizawa does hero work after hours...does that mean he also has increased night vision?? Because it wouldn't makes sense for a hero who relies on his eyes to work at a time when he can't see....right?
(this led me on a scientific deep dive because I am a huge nerd.)
As we know, Aizawa's eyes light up (red) when he activates his quirk. It just so happens, red doesn't glare like other colors of light do. This means red light makes night vision easier. Why? Because your pupils don't need to re-adjust between the light source & the dark around you! This reduces eye strain & keeps your field of vision clear & consistent at night, while still illuminating your path!
Simultaneously, red light is difficult to see at a distance so it'll help keep your position safe from possible attackers. This is why military flash lights are usually red!
So YES!... Aizawa's quirk can improve his night vision... By acting like a red flashlight! But that's not all!
Then I started thinking of HOW his quirk works...He stares at someone, his eyes glow red, his hair floats...and somehow the enemy's power stops working??
As we know, Erasure deactivates the enemy's quirk gene. This happens when Aizawa glares at them. But HOW can he deactivate a gene by only seeing the outside of the body? Especially since Erasure doesn't erase physical mutations??
Turns out, red light has a longer wave length than other colors, allowing it to penetrate the body more easily! In fact red & Infrared light (invisible to humans) is often used in medical imaging to detect things like veins and blood vessels beneath the skin.
Simply put Aizawa's quirk penetrates the body kind of like an x-ray. The reason we can see his eyes light up, and NOT the target being illuminated( like the picture on the left below)?? It's because he likely also emits red light that crosses over into infrared spectrum. So the red light that actually enters the body is invisible to the naked eye.
However real x-rays fall on the opposite side of the light spectrum under Ultra violet light. They not only enter but pass through their target, So to be clear Aizawa probably does not have x-ray vision. You may have also heard of Infrared in terms of night vision goggles. Aizawa likely does not have thermal/night vision either. His eyes only EMIT visible red light which allows him to see better in the dark & Infrared which enters the body.
So while Aizawa's glowing red eyes may at first seem like a meaningless, but cool, feature of his quirk, it's really the tell into how erasure works!
However, glowing red eyes only tell us how aizawa's quirk REACHES the gene, not how he switches it off! So how does he do it?? With an electromagnetic field! The light spectrum is a small part of the larger electromagnetic spectrum & the only part of it visible to the human eye!
So, how do y'all know I'm not just making this up?
Because his hair floats!
What's the most familiar electromagnetic force humans encounter on a daily basis?--- STATIC ELECTRICITY! When aizawa switches on his quirk he essentially becomes a cat being rubbed with a balloon! The carbon nanofibers in his capture weapon conduct static electricity so that floats too!
Aizawa's Erasure works by emitting an electromagnetic field, which like the infrared light, penetrates the body of his target! Now that we know how his quirk reaches the inside of the body, the question is how does it disrupt the quirk function?
As it turns out, electricity can be fired at DNA to switch Genes on and off in real life! So Erasure specifically targets the quirk gene and immobilizes it temporarily with electricity!!!! That's crazy!!!
Since we know Aizawa can't erase the quirks of heteromorphic types it's safe to assume it's because physical mutations effect more than one gene & Erasure specifically targets a single quirk gene.
If Erasure got into the hands of AFO it could easily mean the end of the world, or any one who apposes AFO for that matter. Sure AFO could use Erasure as Aizawa does, but he could also scientifically manipulate it to target genes OTHER than the quirk gene. Meaning he could kill you, or even make your body fall apart, with just a look.
Congrats you made to the end! You now have a PHD is Shota Aizawa.

LOVE IS ACCEPTANCE (DABI x READER) (WC: 2K+)
H of H: I cannot rise. Too heavy with filth and sin.
Th: Give me your hand.
H of H: I’ll stain you.
Th: I’ll take it.
- H of H Playbook, Anne Carson
Dabi doesn’t know if you remember the first time he opened up to you. He does, though. He remembers. He thinks his life is split into two halves: before and after he began to trust you.
Because every decision he made, every reveal of information, was planned on his end. He’d thought each one over and over in his mind, making a pros and cons list of the weight they might hold. Ruminating over the fear that one day, the weight will shift. The scale will tip and he will be all in, fully trusting you to carry his sins along with him. He knows he can’t go all in, but he’s willing to venture as close to the tipping point as possible. He deserves to, he likes to think. He deserves a moment of comfort, even if that’s all it is—a moment.
Of all of the fights, arguments, and trouble that Dabi has gotten himself into, not once has he let someone tend to his minor wounds. He had his reasons—he was plenty capable of handling them himself, he’d survived on the aid of his own hand for this long, he knew that he could get the job done, and quite frankly it wasn’t anyone else’s fucking business.
So when he finds himself practically crawling up the stairs to your apartment after getting torn up pretty badly, he wonders what the hell he thinks he’s doing right now.

LOVE IS ATTENTION (DABI x READER) (WC: 1.3K)
NOTE: based on an idea i had one night and couldn’t get out of my stupid lil brain…maybe a part 2 or same universe as this piece
“Don’t you think maybe they are the same thing? Love and attention?”
- Lady Bird (2017)
Dabi is used to sneaking around—accustomed to slithering his way between cracks and crevices in order to creep by undetected. He’s become alarmingly good at silently entering rooms, scaring you with his sudden touches or quick remarks. Given his occupation, you’re not sure why you’re so surprised at his stealth.
But right now, as you watch him (from out of the corner of your eye) casually pick up your cellphone from your bedside table, put it into his back pocket, and leave the room unannounced—you’re a bit confused.
He’d been sluggishly walking around the apartment to keep himself busy while you worked—he ate a crumby breakfast, watched an episode of a shitty sitcom, showered in cold water, all while bothering you in between actions. So when he enters your bedroom, flicks the back of your head, secretly takes your phone, and then leaves, it’s odd. You trust him, so you say nothing and continue to work—typing away on your laptop as he finds something else to busy himself with.
It’s a terribly humid day, the apartment stuffy and sticky with warmth as the air conditioner broke a few weeks ago and the two of you were far too lazy to call someone to repair it. Between the heat and your workload, you almost forget about your missing cellphone until you go to click it and check the time. When it’s no longer by your bed, you remember the strange sight from a few moments prior, and decide to see what the hell Dabi is up to.
“Hey Dabi,” you innocently call out to him from where you sit, making sure there’s no trace of mischief or suspicion in your tone. You can feel a bead of sweat drip from your forehead and down your hairline.
The door from your bedroom remains open, allowing you to see down the hallway and into the common area. From your peripheral vision, you see him visibly tense up. He freezes where he stands—as if remaining still would allow the floorboards to swallow him whole or grant him permission to shape shift into the wood of the cabinets. He fears he’s been caught.
When there’s no response, but you plan to keep up with your nonchalant charade, you call his name once more—an attempt to mindlessly be searching for his presence as you secretly test your hypothesis.
“Dabi,” your voice echoes throughout the apartment a second time as you stand up and begin to walk down the hallway. Your bare feet slightly stick to the hardwood floors as you make your way, meeting him by the table he’s leaning up against.
He says nothing as he scans over your body—clad in shorts and a tank top, the weather far too hot for you to wear anything else. His eyebrows raise, at your appearance or potential question, you’re not sure.
“Have you seen my phone? Can’t remember where I put it,” you mumble and feign innocence, eager to see what his response will be.
“Again?” he poses and it takes everything within your being for you not to laugh in his face right then and there. “And you yell at me for being messy.”
You scoff, because he is the messy one of the two of you. He leaves clothes on the ground after changing out of them quickly, much to your complaints of the hamper being right there! He brings the television remote into the kitchen with him to grab a snack, just to return without it and make himself comfortable on the couch—he’ll ask you go to get it for him when you join him on the sofa and ask to change the channel.
But if anything, this whole ordeal is making you realize that maybe Dabi isn’t messy, maybe he’s just calculated. Making a mess so you can scold him, so you can flick his forehead and call him a pig, so he can in return pull you into his lap and leave a sloppy spit-filled smack on your cheek with his lips. It’s all cause and effect—he can’t just openly ask for your attention, so he gets it in the way that he knows best. Trouble.
“I’m serious,” you try again, “I tried retracing my steps, but I have no idea where it is.”
Your comment is met with an eye-roll and a tongue in cheek as he pushes himself away from the table, walking past you.
He does a strangely impeccable job at appearing unfazed as he scans the room around him, pretending to look for an object that he maliciously moved himself. It’s comical watching him, knowing the truth of the situation, as he does a convincing job of quickly examining the kitchen countertops, followed by the empty couch cushions.
All of this pans out as you stand there, mentally shaking your head as you let one another play each other like puppets—no one is winning, but knowing you need one another in the silliest of ways tastes like a victory all on it’s own.
He’s actually committing to this, like he’s done it a thousand times before. Now that you think of it, you start to recall the countless amounts of times where you thought you’d misplaced your water bottle, eyeliner pencil, chapstick. All tiny little objects that you’d blamed on your scatter-brained self. Perhaps, you should’ve been blaming them on your cat-like counterpart—Dabi was all distance and fanged-hissing until it came down to it—where his true self was so needy for attention, that’d he’d get himself in trouble to receive it. Make you lose your mind to give him the slightest bit of praise.
He says nothing as his eyes notice the device on the dining room table—where he put it—as he saunters over to it with an obnoxiously fake sigh.
He picks up the phone, tiny in his hand as he waves it in front of your face like he’s taunting a child.
“Right here, idiot.”
A grin spreads across your face, your suspicions having been correct.
“Thank you!” you beam, taking it from his hands. You make sure to observe his facial expressions as you mutter out a curious how’d that get there? He does nothing to give away his intentions, but the way his eyes slightly soften as you put the item down and turn to face him is all the confirmation you need.
You wrap your arms around his torso—he’s a bit cold, but it feels refreshing against your sticky and sweaty skin. It takes him a moment before he throws a single arm around your smaller frame, pressing the palm of his hand into your back and letting it rub a few cooling circles.
“What would I do without you?” you mumble against the cotton of his t-shirt. Regardless of the heat encompassing the space and the unbearable want to crawl out of your sticky skin, it still smells and feels like him.
“Keep it up, and you’ll never have to find out,” he sarcastically quips as he places a tiny, feathery kiss to your hairline.
All according to his plan, you smirk to yourself. You don’t mind playing along with his childish antics and ploys to get your attention—attention that he’ll then pretend he didn’t want nor ask for, but you know him. You know it’s hard for him to swallow his pride and want something, admit defeat (in his eyes) as he craves to be needed in such a pitiful capacity.
You do need him. And if it takes him moving your phone around the house just to help you find it a few minutes later, just to tease you for being forgetful or irritating, just to feel your thank you hold him like the tightest embrace he’s ever known—you’d play along ten times over.

You stood outside the League's hideout when a crumpled ball hit your head making you turn towards the dorection it came from. You saw Toga stading near a window, a smile on her face as she pointed towards the ball. Curiously you picked it up and began reading.
