I saw this in a magazine I was flipping through. I grew up in the Cleveland area. We very rarely got snow days no matter how terrible the weather was even though many high students had to walk as far as 2 miles to school. I never knew at the time but this blurb makes a lot of sense. At least half of the kids at my school got free or reduced lunch. I used to dream about snow days, who knew my dream could be someone elses nightmare.
