(Last chapter of this batch; I need a break before tackling the Umbara arc, but it will happen soon. Or at least faster than this lot. Not that that’s saying much.)

That would be excellent. (And no doubt well-deserved on Blurr's part.)
Lights, sirens and similar are also underrated in a combat context, but we have seen them used as such at least once:
Tumblr media
(For added context: this is from the obligatory body-swap episode of RiD15, and Sideswipe's been struggling to control Strongarm's "accessories" all mission, annoying the h*ck out of both himself and Drift. It looks as though he's finally got the hang of them. Just in the nick of time.)
Hc that any Cybertronian with a car, truck, or ship alt mode can voluntarily beep or honk in robot mode
And that some of them with really loud ones would sneak up on others from behind and HONK to spook em
Just thinking about what if Ratchet needs to get the attention of the entire room and goes WEEWOOWEEWOOWEEWOO

11 and 20 for the writers asks
11. What's something neat you've learned while doing research for something you were writing? Also, how much do you worry about doing research in general?
I didn't know anything about Vaapad, or Form VII as a whole, until I was researching Mace Windu for a scene where Helli finds his lightsabre. (Nor did I realise that Mace is Kanan's grandmaster and Ezra's great-grandmaster, which will never not be funny.) It explains a lot, and it's an interesting concept to explore by itself - the idea that a highly trained, self-controlled Jedi could use even their negative emotions, rather than simply letting them go (which is, of course, by far the safer option). In fact, I have plans to include it in my current WIP (several chapters in, but it'll be there eventually - I hope).
I like to think I'm fairly thorough when researching for fics (not quite academic-standard, though, I must admit, especially where referencing is concerned). I've been a scientist too long to be anything else. Wikis are lifesavers, but for episode rewrites I like to go through the original scene by scene and line by line, to make sure the parts I'm keeping the same are accurate and my additions and other changes flow nicely out of and back into canon. It's slow work, but worth it.
20. What is your favourite trope to write?
I don't think I have a single favourite, but enemies-to-friends would be a strong contender (particularly combined with a redemption arc, although the friendship isn't necessarily the catalyst for change). If found family counts as a trope rather than simply a concept, that's on the list as well - along with that hardy perennial, "Order 66 doesn't happen".

Star Wars fathers, Part 1 - Prequels and Clone Wars
To mark St Joseph's day, here's a small selection of jagyc'buire (biological, emotional or generally dad-shaped) from the Prequel Trilogy and The Clone Wars. (Other entries in this series will follow in time. It was originally going to be a single canvas, but I forgot just how long these drawings take - this one's nearly late as it is.)
[Design notes: all traced from Googled photos. One day I may learn to draw faces consistently and well; it is not this day.]

Leaving as prisoners and escort - what better cover could they have?
Tags remain open.
Last Line Challenge
Rules : in a new post, show the last line you wrote (or drew) and tag as many people as there are words (or as many as you feel like).
Thank you @cocotter for tagging me ☺️
So, there you go with the last line i wrote on one of my WIP (it was a few days ago because i spend more time reading on AO3 than progressing on things...)
Ponds didn't get to go ask his general in the end. It's Windu who came to him.
And for the tagging part, I'm going to play it like I'm not starstruck just a little bit and ask very nicely and politely (with a flower 🌻) if @varpusvaras @mamuzzy @here-be-bec and @commanderfoxdeservesbetter have anything you'd like to share ? Would love to know but no pressure what's over !

❄️Share a snippet from a WIP of your choosing. got anything from star wars in the works?
I do, as it happens. Still working on that Citadel rewrite, which will eventually become an Umbara rewrite as well (and from there... we'll see). Here's the start of the one chapter I've managed to draft so far.
“Are, er, we sure this thing is safe?” Fives asked, sounding only slightly less nervous than his commander knew he felt. “I don’t want to end up a wall decoration.” “If it isn’t, someone’ll have a nice harlequin set,” Jedi General Helli Abbasa – Hel to her brothers, especially Fives – tried to joke. She wasn’t exactly happy about their situation either. Being frozen in carbonite and putting her brothers’ lives – oh, and her own – in the hands of battle droids, even reprogrammed ones under astromech supervision, seemed like a pretty chancy plan. Of course it is – it’s a blasted Skywalker plan.

A "little" follow-up to this post - Omega had to have his own drawing because he physically wouldn't fit on the other one, but he's most definitely part of the family. (I was going to do this earlier, but life got on top of me again. Anyway, as far as I'm concerned it's still Christmas until Candlemas (2nd February).)
[Design notes: traced from a Googled picture - his reference sheet in the Allspark Almanac, I think - with the fairy lights added freehand.]

“Why are you calling me “madam”?”
“…Because you’re a woman.”
“Am I? Does it suit me?”
Latest but by no means least… The newly regenerated Thirteenth Doctor meets her match in Yasmin - Yaz - Khan, a probationary police officer who perhaps should have been careful about what she wished for. Or perhaps not, as a slight teleport malfunction gives her and a couple of friends the opportunity to explore the universe alongside one of the most extraordinary women in it. Clever, kind and gentle, but not one to back down from a fight or a chance to help someone, Yaz is the perfect foil for the equally compassionate Time Lady - and the ideal person to help her through one of the biggest crises of her/his lives. Time will tell how their story ends (it always does)…
(This series has been fun, and has probably improved my lineart and shading, but I think I’ll go back to block colour soon. I’d like to do a group portrait of the UNIT “family” from the ‘70s, but am not sure whether to use this style or my usual one; opinions, and any other feedback, would be very welcome.)

“I’m his carer.”
“Yeah, my carer. She cares so I don’t have to.”
The Ponds were always going to be a hard act to follow. Nearly impossible, in fact. Enter, therefore, Clara Oswald, the Impossible Girl. When she rings an infallible helpline to sort out her wi-fi problems, it’s the beginning of a journey that will take her all across time and space and even splinter her throughout the Doctor’s timeline - all while keeping a lid on the antics of a hyperactive Time Lord, then putting the brakes on his next incarnation and apologising for him when he’s being too tactless. She doesn’t just care instead of him - she teaches him how to care again. For her, he’ll spend thousands of millions of years in a deadly time-loop; for him, she’ll stand up to the High Council of the Time Lords. It’s no less than either of them deserve.

Wishing everyone a very happy and blessed Christmas, along with all the Autobots, half-'bots and almost-'bots at the Plant. Ghosts included.
(By the way, the bronze lass is my OC Glitch, Ratchet's apprentice and Bumblebee's partner. She's also part of the reason Elita is in this lineup, and no longer goes by Blackarachnia. I'm still figuring out her design, so it may change somewhat in future art.)
[Design notes: canon characters traced from Googled photos or screenshots; Elita's true face was largely done freehand (heavily relying on a reference), along with most of the extra details (the exception is Glitch's robin, which I did have to trace). Glitch's design is mostly a traced and modified version of Prowl's, with elements of Arcee and Glyph in the shapes and colours of her face, optics and mouth.]
