Hi, hello, guess what I have been obsessing over for the past two months 🥷🏾🐢🔵🟣🔴🟠
TMNT was ubiquitous with growing up in the late '90s/early Aughts, but I missed out on it – then Mutant Mayhem shoved me down the rabbit hole. Now I've watched TMNT 2012, season 1 of TMNT 1987, and the 1990 movie - and hopefully even more!
For no bluebird crisis reasons whatsoever, I’m taking it back to 2014 and (metaphorically) dusting off my old Tumblr account! I’ve taken the liberty of completely retooling it exclusively for personal art going forward - and I have the 5,000+ reblogs-transfered-to-likes to prove it. As it turns out, deleting six years worth of outdated, link broken and/or irrelevant content is a Herculean effort - or at least a week’s worth. A fun wrist activity nonetheless.
Revisiting my old reblogs reminded me of all the happy and truly hilarious memories I had here, drama be damned. I’ve tested the waters sporadically in recent years and it appears that Tumblr is more lax now than it ever was. I think the grand majority of the toxics weeded themselves out years ago, and this platform is all the better because of it.
Whether the bluebird crashes and burns or stays put, it will be good to have a secondary backup account here, as I maintain that this platform is more suitable for creative works than most would care to admit. So, here’s to old things being new again and formally reintegrating myself into the ecosystem of this funky little microblogging site! 🥳
Bit of a latecomer to the @kirbyreanimated ollab, but here's my little scene for the project. Is it a simple, two second background zoom out shot? Yeah. Did I intend to get as much mileage as I could out of it? Oh yeah.
I give you...MOON-SAHIRO SAKURAI
(If you listen closely to the sky in the dead of night, some say you can hear the moon tell you to never ask it for anything ever again.)
THAT’S RIGHT! I have an art Twitter now at https://twitter.com/emjadyart
I’ve been sitting on this decision for a while now (waaaay before the current state of affairs here) but I’ve finally caved. I’ve always created SFW art and that’s never going to change, but Twitter’s got a surprisingly robust art scene and if that’s where everyone’s flocking, then why not?
I’ll be sure to reblog this periodically over the next several days so my followers are in the know before the totally abandon ship.
One of my earliest memories of SpongeBob Squarepants was getting the “How To Draw SpongeBob” book from a school book fair when I was in the third grade, and studying it thoroughly. It taught me the importance of solid character design, right down to the most minute details - from the irregular rectangular shape of SpongeBob’s body to the number of dots on Squidward’s head. As a budding artist, it was fascinating.
Thank you Stephen Hillenburg, for creating such an iconic show that inspired an entire generation. To say your work inspired many a childhood would be an understatement. Rest easy.
Good afternoon, “Danger Zone” played on the radio and I was instantly reminded of this video I discovered in high school about an omnipotent polar bear that creates explosions with a hockey stick and nukes a volcano
