AU where Kei Nagai joins Sato after escaping the government’s laboratory.

Possibility 1: Kei is cold-hearted and the world has no way of winning against Kei and Sato working together.

Possibility 2: Sato keeps Kei around despite him still being kind-hearted after the torture. I’m just imagining Kei taking care of a hurt Tanaka and making him feel human again. Poor dude was tortured non-stop for years straight.

When Sato tells Tanaka to cut out his organs for money to buy firearms and videogames, Kei is vehemently against it.

Instead of finding a quiet village to hide in, Kei crossdresses. Based on the fact that Kei Nagai is way too cute and would totally pass for a girl. Eventually he would grow to like it because people treat him more gently when he's a girl, and the sexist men? Well, Kei enjoys showing them who is boss.

Alternate prompt: Kei uses this disguise when going out while he’s working together with Tosaki and someone from the team comes across him.

Great prompt for a Kei/Kou fic. He definitely wouldn’t realise it’s Kei at first lol

Kei takes care of other people’s wounds whenever someone on the team gets injured (even if it’s just a scratch).

Sato always thought Kei Nagai sounded familiar. When he realizes his favourite anonymous streamer hasn’t streamed any video games since the moment Kei Nagai got hit by a truck, he puts the pieces together.

Cue Sato breaking Kei out of the facility and getting him somewhere safe so he can keep watching his favourite livestreamer.

So silly but I wish Kei liked video games too :(

Can I get a dumb Kei where he stopped talking to Kai because he thought being around him was making him sick?

“So, why did you stop talking to him?”

“He made me feel sick.”

“Geez, that’s harsh.”

“No, I mean, he made me feel feverish. He made my heartbeat increase and my palms would get all sweaty. My stomach would feel weird too.”

“…you’re kidding, right?”

“At first, I suspected I developed an allergy specifically for him… but it didn’t fit the symptoms.”

“…”

“Then I decided I would become a doctor and find a cure for whatever it is.”

“How can someone with such a high IQ be so stupid?”

Kei teaches Kou how to die more efficiently… it’s more intimate than Kou and Kei expected it to be. Kei in doctor mode, touching Kou a lot and telling him which veins are the most important. Killing-talk has no right to be so hot.

Kei gets so caught up in research, he forgets about his basic needs.

“Dude… I’m pretty sure that’s your stomach growling.”

Kai is part of the yakuza and so Kei is under the yakuza’s protection. When Kei is discovered to be an ajin, things go a lot differently.

Since an IBM is meant to protect the ajin and it can partly shapeshift… imagine Kai is a creation born from Kei’s loneliness and is Kei’s IBM in a different form. All while Kei always thought Kai was just an imaginary friend he had in childhood.

Kai finds out Kei didn’t injure anyone in his escape from the government’s laboratory because he feared Kai would hate him if he did. Kei expects Kai to be happy about it, turns out Kai is pissed that some men tortured his friend and basically got away with it with zero repercussions.

Keitember 2024 Prompt 15

AU where at some point Kei manages to talk when he’s tortured and all he says is “I want to go home.” A few of the surgeons realise he’s just a kid and try to comfort him when no one is watching and they make a plan to get him out of there.

I mean, come on, there's no way all of them were okay with torturing a child? I bet most of them thought they would have to torture criminals/monsters because that's what the population has been led to believe all ajin are.

The reason the 'subject' gets all bandaged up is probably because otherwise people would empathise with them. But those bandages have to get changed by someone with every new torture session, no? Imagine one of the surgeons takes off the wrapping and is mortified to see someone as old as their daughter laying on a torture table.

Kei develops a phobia of doctors after his torture at the laboratory.

Kou gets killed unexpectedly by someone else as a training exercise, Kei panics because he wasn’t in control and wasn’t expecting it. Kou revives to Kei holding him in his arms and… crying?
