On June 9 in 2019, over a million Hongkongers took to the streets against amendments to an extradition bill, which would allow Hongkongers to stand trial in mainland China.
They first protested against the extradition bill, then fought for democracy and to protect their way of life. Two years has passed. Where you once had vibrant and peaceful assemblies, now a chilling fear reigns across Hong Kong. All of the protest leaders are in jail, awaiting trial, or in exile, and ordinary Hongkongers are leaving the city to start new lives abroad (HKW).
On June 9 in 2021, the second anniversary of Hongkong's historic protest, around 10 activists reached the summit of Lion Rock, which symbolizes Hong Kong’s resilience and displayed the signs of “FREE HK” and “FAITH” atop Lion Rock. ll Read more at Apple Daily l gif sr.
