forget you
You saw an opportunity to walk away, and you took it.
Spoilers for the Glass event!
"Thank you again for all your help!"
"It’s my pleasure, Lord Diavolo. Those petals really gave you a run for your Grimm, huh?"
"Alas, complications often arise when dealing with Devildom relics."
You hummed noncommittally as you watched Barbatos carefully wrap the magical baton in a protective cloth before carting it away for safekeeping. Nearby, the demon brothers bickered over the shattered pieces of the stained glass flower, each trying to put it back together in their own way. "So what happens now?"
"Well, I suppose the show has to go on, regardless of the flower's state. We can only hope our performance will be the key to restoring its original form. On that note, will you be staying to watch?"
"Thank you for the generous offer," you dipped your head respectfully for good measure, "but I'm afraid I have other places to be. I just happened to be passing through, you see."
Diavolo's usual cheer seemed forced, not quite masking the flash of disappointment across his face. "Ah, a pity. You sorcerers are always bustling about. Still, if you hadn't brought the petals to our attention, we wouldn't have been able to recover all of them safely. Are you sure you don't want to join us? We do have a spare baton lying around..."
"I can hardly get my spellcasting to work half the time, let alone conduct a marching band," you laughed. "I'm sure you'll find someone to fill the role."
"I could ask Mephisto if he's up for the job. Maybe Raphael, or even Thirteen..." Diavolo muttered to himself before straightening up. "I guess I shouldn't hold you any further. Have a safe trip back to the human realm!"
"Thank you, your Highness."
Solomon eyed you curiously when you walked past, but his gaze didn't linger for long and he quickly returned to his conversation with Simeon and Luke. You barely suppressed a sigh of relief as you made it a safe distance away to create a portal.
It was fortunate that your hypothesis proved true after all; if the baton could track the petals when they first scattered to the winds, it could also be used to discreetly send them away a second time, allowing the stained glass flower's magic to kick in long enough for you to disappear for good. With improved inter-realm relations, it was easy to pose as a travelling sorcerer and make your escape.
Still, the Devildom had been your home for a while. That was the only reason you stayed to help your former friends track the petals down, lest they cause yet another catastrophe to befall the Devildom. You swore this was the last mess they would ever drag you into, and deep down, something told you their memories wouldn't recover even after the marching band played its last note. So long as you didn't activate your pacts and kept a low profile, you were safe.
The moment you stepped into sunlight, you took off running with a delighted whoop.

speaking of chinese horse memes this one is still my absolute favorite and at the risk of killing the joke by explaining it i must at least try to translate
loosely—
panel 1: 有句话不知当讲不当讲 (i have something to report but i don't know whether i should tell you or not) panel 2: 马上讲 (tell me immediately) panel 3: 之前的情报有误 (there was an error in an earlier report)
and the keywords here are 马上 in the second panel, which put together mean "immediately" but individually mean horse (马) and up or on (上)
so 马上讲 can both mean "tell me immediately" and, more literally, "tell me on the horse"

in the time loop the only way out is to leave her there but you don't ever leave her there, never in the roughly one thousand years you have been in the same day. it is probably like "50 first dates" but you haven't stooped so low as to watch "50 first dates" yet. (but who is to say what another thousand years of the same media will bring to you, maybe you will develop a new taste).
you spent about 200 of these years sulking in a bathtub or on the couch or staring at the seaside. 300 of them have been spent slowly mapping the geographical distance you can actually get before the time loop restarts. you have a list of favorite places: one library in Western Massachusetts called "The Bookmill", which has weird hours and has never raised an eyebrow to you arriving out-of-breath and panting, asking to see a specific book on a specific shelf. There is one beach without a name in North Carolina; it is an accident of geography and ownership title disputes - and it is pristine, untouched, warm and cozy. you've taken her on a lot of picnics there. Acadia National Park. One specific birdhouse in the mountains.
you were stuck in the time loop with the money you entered it with: not enough to rent a private jet. you've robbed a bank a few times, you don't like the way it ends. maybe next century you'll get the hang of it. you don't like the look on her face when you say hang on i have to stop at the bank.
you just have to leave her, and you can go back to being a person again. you took 5 years just catching a flight and sitting in the Grand Canyon. if there's one thing you regret more than anything, it's that you hadn't gotten your passport renewed before this fucking time loop. maybe you should spend some time learning forgery - but also, like, you look like an english teacher. nobody is going to be cool about you asking to see their paper printing machines.
the world is very big. that is one of the things groundhog day gets wrong. there are no consequences, so you have literally all the time (or none of the time?) in the world. in groundhog day, he does a lot of very cool things, but in reality - your muscle memory never gets better. you can't necessarily learn how to play piano or sculpt ice, because your hands never remember the practice. but hey - maybe you'll try violin next. drums. synth.
you can open any door and walk into any conversation. money isn't really an object. you can try every meal off every menu, forever. take her on helicopter tours and into every museum and on every event that is happening right-now at-this-moment. parades and funerals and calligraphy classes.
but you are somewhat trapped by the limitations of your body. if you were reading a book, you still need to get up and go back to the library and find that book again when the day resets. (thank god for the internet). it still takes like 2 hours to board a plane, and then takeoff and landing and traffic. you've gotten off to run around on the freeway. one of the little thankful things: since your brain isn't actually developing (it's a muscle too), the days thankfully don't feel shorter to you. that would be agony.
all you have to do to leave the timeloop is let that man get away with it. that's all. in every version of yourself - forever - you have stopped him.
the problem is that this experience has convinced you of the existence of the human soul. after all, how else are you forming memories? your very cells reset. information has to be transferred somehow. and if timeloops are real, you can convince yourself other magic exists. so you have two choices here: this hell, or the next. there might be a millennia where you have been worn down to the point you can accept fate's decision. this is just not one of them. ironically - she is the one thing you have left.
and besides! if you can't always find something new in your partner, aren't you failing them? there is something new about her, every day with the same morning. every brutal day with the same orange sunset.
after all, you wanted to live with her in heaven, in eternity, and, well - isn't this second-best.

20 Questions for Writers
Thank you for the tag @chocmarss 💕
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
100 woohoo
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
325,362 words
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Mainly Obey Me at the moment, but I've also written for Rise of the Guardians, How to Train Your Dragon, Miraculous Ladybug, Spiderman, Power Rangers, Fire Emblem, Pokemon, Voltron, Final Fantasy, Transformers, Sherlock, and Dragon Raja!
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
That's (Not) My Name
Just A Taste
don't you (forget about me)
The Other Half of Us
Second Chances
5. Do you respond to comments?
All the time! I do my best to say thank you to everyone who left a comment :)
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
We Can Be Heroes (Just For One Day)
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Punch-Punch-Kiss
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I'm fortunate to not have encountered that so far!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I can do suggestive content at best; I have no talent for smut.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Hell yeah, I wrote a lot of Hijack back in the day!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Again, I'm fortunate to not have experienced this (or maybe I'm just unaware of any theft).
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
A few, if I remember correctly, though I've probably lost the links to them by now...
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yeah, and what a fantastic experience that was!
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
C'mon you know I can't pick just one :(
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
...I'm working on them.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Keeping things concise, I guess? My stories are mostly plot-driven, so I tend to move things from point A to point B in a straightforward manner. I try not to repeat words too often as well, and I'd like to say I'm good at writing angst!
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Rushing the plot haha! I feel like being overly succinct makes my writing feel too abrupt; the transitions aren't as smooth as I like, and I can always afford to spend more time expanding and developing a scene before moving on.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
It's awesome; kudos to those who pull it off, goodness knows I can't!
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Transformers
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
You can't make me choose, my fics are all my babies :(
No pressure tags: @arvandus @misc-obeyme @another-lost-mc @qrowsofafeather @sparkbeast20 @twiceasfrustrating @theevilpretty1 @obeythebutler @elsecrytt @atticsandwich and anyone else who wants to join!

*FOR THE RECORD~ Solomon didn’t brew the tea he’s just spilling it~

Note
Please make a tea post so I can save it especially the pineapple ice cubes I need more info
Oh, like, different teas I like to make? Okay! :D
🍍Pineapple Tea🍍
The way I do it is really simple:
Buy a giant jug of already-made tea (I like gold peak!)
Buy a carton of pineapple juice
Freeze the juice into cubes, pour a little of it in the tea for extra flavor
And that's it. That's aaaall you gotta do.
There's all kindsa ways you can dress it up, but nine times out of ten I just do this and drink it by the gallon when it's hot out.
If you wanna get fancy with it, feel free to cold brew your own black (or green) tea, add actual hunks of pineapple fruit in there, add some orange juice, add some honey, add some coconut milk or sweetened condensed milk, whatever sounds good! (Also, pairing pineapple tea with coconut cookies? SO GOOD.) Put mint in the pineapple cubes if you like mint! Add a bit of boiled ginger root or some brown sugar and cinnamon for a little kick! Heck, last summer I used blue peaflower star-shaped ice cubes just because they were pretty.
Tumblr media
(Peaflower petals don't taste like much, but they make a GORGEOUS blue, and if you put something acidic in there like lemon juice IT TURNS PINK. :D)
🍓Strawberry Tea🍓
I find this stuff sort of difficult to find where I live, so often I go the same route as the pineapple tea: grab a jug of black tea, grab a jug of strawberry juice, (ocean spray has a really nice cran-strawberry one I like) freeze the juice, mix, and enjoy. Super simple.
If I can't find strawberry juice, I dice some strawberries up and put it in a jar with some water and a bit of sugar for a few hours, then add *that* to the tea. (heck, it's really nice all by itself!)
What goes with strawberry? ANY DANG THING YOU WANT. I am particularly fond of lychee. Jasmine tea and rose petals pair really well with it too. Again, if you like mint, it's *really* nice with strawberry. And you know how if you put black pepper on strawberries they taste even strawberrier? (If you haven't tried this, go do it, it's magic.) Same goes with the tea, add some peppercorns or a teeny bit of chili powder or some ginger.
If you wanna drink it hot or cold brew a batch of your own, here are some brands that are also nice:
1. Strawberry Sensation
2. Adagio Strawberry Tea (this is also where I got the peaflower petals)
3. Any of Lupicia's Strawberry Teas they are HEAVENLY
🍏Apple Tea🍏
As with the pineapple and strawberry teas, it's totally fine to just go find some ready-made tea and mix it with some apple cider or apple juice for tasty low spoons fun. If you drink it iced, a bit of sugar and lemon juice brings out the apple flavor nicely!
I prefer drinking this stuff hot though. You know that Fall Drink post that was floating around? IF YOU HAVEN'T YET, TRY IT, IT'S AWESOME.
☕Chai Tea☕
So here's the thing about chai for me personally: I don't tend to drink it iced or sugary, but if you do like it iced and sugary, there are a couple of really nice chai tea concentrates:
Oregon Chai Latte
Tazo's Chai Latte (Forget the "skinny" nonsense, I just wanted to include an option with no milk so you can add whatever you want to it)
Pacific Chai isn't concentrated, but you can use it to make hot or iced chai and it's really lovely, not too sweet and super easy to work with. As for dressing up chai, I don't tend to! There's already so much going on with all the flavors, I just drink it as-is most days. Play with milk-to-tea ratios or sugar amounts all you like, figure out what's your jam.
I do know that mixing chai and coffee together (or chai and chocolate together) is guaranteed to make a feeling groovy kind of morning, at least if you have two thumbs and you're me. Iiii think that's all the tea blather I can think of for right now. Thank you for asking, anon, it was fun! Anybody reading this, feel free to add your own favorite things to do with tea. :D
