I'm back on my bullshit with taking a stab at a new series for the summer. Mostly an excuse draw more dimension 20 stuff.

I guess I never said how I feel about Spider-Man India from Across the Spider-Verse, so here it is. There are over 4 million people of Indian descent in the U.S (where I am from), and billions more across South Asia & Europe, so I am just one voice in an incredibly broad and vast culture originating from a place that has a deep historical overlap with its neighboring countries. Pavitr is cool. His outfit is MUCH BETTER than his first comic design. They didn't just put Spider-Man in a lungi and call it a day. He's definitely more representative of north Indians than south Indians, which I come from, but there's still a cultural throughline that holds through his character like a golden ribbon. He's a bollywood protagonist. More specifically, he's like a bollywood/kollywood action movie protagonist, and Spider-Verse portrays this really well. He uses his webs to perform stunts that are typically done using wires in the industry, which makes his web-swinging unique among the other Spider-Men. The only real critique I have is that he lives in "Mumbattan" instead of just Mumbai. Considering the movie's budget, it would not have been that hard to show actual landmarks in the city like Marvel has done so lovingly with New York. He's certainly right about the traffic, but it would have been better to see where the people were GOING.

As a person of color I always felt ashamed about liking Generation Loss because it felt too "white" to be something I could like, but honestly? If a show as inclusive and enthusiastic as Game Changer can have Ranboo on for an episode, I can get over myself.
