The other morning, Wednesday, June 19, I watched “Beneath New Zealand”. It is a three episode, one season, geological study documentary. Each episode is about 45 minutes long. I really like how they’ve integrated the cultural histories and stories of the Māori people, our Polynesian cousins.

Episode 1 - Mountains and Caves

Episode 2 - Volcanoes

Episode 3 - Rocks and Quakes

The third episode covered tsunami info very well, including mentions the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

Congratulations to these young men, Hawaii’s Little League World Series 2022 Champions! Hawaii is so very proud of you all!! Keep being phenomenal!! ••••• I almost missed the parade held in their honor this afternoon. It went along parts of North & South King Streets as I only managed to catch a distant glimpse of a portion of a marching band passing through the nearby intersection while on a patrol at work. So grateful I work close enough to walk to Honolulu Hale (our City Hall) on my lunch break. It was a bit hot out but worth the walk on this beautiful sunny Thursday. I got to see some familiar people and say Hi to a few while enjoying ice cream & a small plate of kalua pig & cabbage with rice! I even saw & greeted the new Honolulu Police Chief, Arthur “Joe” Logan, who seemed to have an odd look in response. 🤔 I couldn’t tell if he might have been thrown off by my white AUS Services uniform, or my phenomenal enthusiasm & excitement in just seeing him in real life. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I believe that was Deputy Chief Keith Horikawa with him, too. •• #ThankYou •• Mahalo to @meadowgoldhawaii for the ice cream. Mahalo to those who provided & served the kalua pig and cabbage. Mahalo to the local band from Molokai who performed live music on stage - in the hot sun. (I 🙏🏼 you guys are okay after that much direct sun 😳🥴🙏🏼 sorry that by time I returned to work, I forgot your band’s name.😔) Mahalo to so many who helped come together in support of the young men’s success.
