Although the months seem to be flying by, I feel like God has been using this time to really speak to me. Happy New Year! Wow, 2020…the beginning of a new decade. I’m so excited to see what this new year and the next 10 years bring.

As this decade begins, people all over the world are setting their intentions for the new year. Most people set goals and plans that they wish to accomplish by writing them down, creating a vision board, or doing both. Writing down your goals allows you to remember them, whereas vision boards allows you to envision what you want.

This year I decided to create a vision board for the first time. But, before creating my vision board I actually wrote my goals down. I set some time aside to think about what I wanted for 2020 and prayed about it. Like I’ve mentioned in my previous new year post, when we create goals that we want to accomplish we must pray and ask God if they align with what He wants for us. So, that’s what I did. I made my list and gave it to God.

After doing this, I got myself a poster board, some glue, scissors, and I started looking for images that matched my goals. For example, one of my goals for this year is to blog more, so I went to google and Pinterest to find an image that matched that. I searched for “blogging” images, “girl on computer” images, and “girl boss aesthetic” images. Pinterest and Google have tons of images to choose from, so whatever your goals are you can easily find pictures that match them. You could also use images from magazines or from other sites like Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr.

If you can’t find an image for one of your goals, you could go into microsoft or google docs and type what you want. Another goal that I have is financial freedom/stability. I found a couple of images that I could’ve use, but I didn’t really like them because they didn’t show what I was trying to envision. Instead I just typed the words out and printed them.

After you have all of your materials, you are ready to put your board together! There are so many different ways to organize your board. If you’re having trouble figuring out how you want to make your vision board go on Pinterest! The site literally has so many examples that you could use. Here are just a few:

As you can see there isn’t just one way to create a vision board. You can make all of your images and words into an object like a flower. You can use a poster board or a piece of notebook/journal paper. You could also use a cork board to put all of your pictures. It doesn’t matter how you make your board. The only thing that matters is that you like it and are inspired by it!

• you are enough.

• you are where you’re supposed to be.

• your life has great meaning — enjoy and grasp onto the little things even more.

• continue to stay rooted within your truth and your beliefs.

• don’t compare your journey to anyone else’s. yours is beautiful in its own special way.

• remind yourself daily that there is beauty in the now. the beauty that’s waiting for you in the future will be yours.

• don’t take anything personally. their negativity is THEIRS to carry, not yours.

• when life gets tough, lean into yourself. she needs you.

• spend less time on your phone and more time with yourself and in nature.
