SPRITZ is the classic Venetian aperitif, it’s a mix of white wine, Aperol (sweeter) or Bitter Campari (bitterer), a squirt of seltz or Sparkling mineral water. The drink was originated in Venice while it was part of the Austrian Empire. Later venetians found that the drink was lacking character so they added liqueurs: thus the Venetian SPRITZ was born in the early 20s and the idea was exported by Venetian themselves. Bar hopping (Bacari tour) in the Venice it’s a must for any visitors. Usually served with a variety of “cicheto” (small rich apetizer), spritz can ne enjpyed before or after meals.

La Libreria Acqua Alta si trova vicino alla chiesa di Santa Maria Formosa, in un angolo di Venezia distante dai flussi turistici più congestionati. Quando l'acqua alta supera i 110 cm., il mare entra dalla porta sul canale e invade tutto il negozio. Tuttavia in questa singolare libreria si sono inventati un ingegnoso “escamotage” per salvare i libri. I volumi sono impilati su supporti riciclati che possono galleggiare: dentro a una Gondola, in una barca in disuso, nelle vasche da bagno…Qui troverete libri vecchi e nuovi, libri donati e libri recuperati, libri su Venezia, edizione d'arte e libri di avventura, libri gialli e fumetti. Nelle due corti esterne si trovano le vecchie enciclopedie ormai sorpassate, che fungono da scala per vedere oltre il muro di cinta che butta sul canale adiacente.

Io AMO Camogli. Se fosse una persona l'abbraccerei fortissima e non la lascerei mai. Amo il rumore del mare sui ciottoli. I Bagni con le sdraio sempre ordinate, la focaccia di #revello, i gabbiani molesti, pure le macchie di gelato sul pavé... Amo i gozzi che risciacquano nel porticciolo e le case tutte ammucchiate sulla passeggiata. Amo in verde e l'indaco. Ma sopratutto amo la calma indiana di questo piccolo Borgo ligure.

I adore barber shops! Whenever i see one I must go inside and watch hair being cut and chin gently shaved. I usually find the way to chat-up the owner and ask him about his job.... This Barber  shop in #kalaw belongs to a man originally from #Bihar. While Indians have lived in Burma for many centuries, most of the ancestors of the current Burmese Indian community emigrated to Burma from the start of British rule in the mid-19th century to the separation of British Burma from British India in 1937. During British times, ethnic Indians formed the backbone of the government and economy serving as soldiers, civil servants, merchants and moneylenders. And ultimately, barbers! Király Baths is one of the smallest and oldest  Turkish Baths in Budapest. Located near the Castle, Király Baths date back to the Turkish times when bathing and steem rooms became part of hungarian culture. The most characteristic element of the building is the cupola above the steam baths, several small windows of which result in a unique play of light. Although Király Baths are in the touristic area belle the Cittadel, few tourists venture here and prefer the newest Baths or the #Széchenyi Baths. I spent 2 long and relaxing hours here, switching from the main 38°C pool to the 20°C and the 40°C ones. One of the must-do things in Yangon is definetively to get on the famous Circle Line and run for few hours northbound of the city to observe its suburbs. The train passes along City Universities, Monastery and military barracks. Runs through  fields and floating gardens of neighboring villages, squeaking and hissing along the tracks of the most extreme poverty. But this Line has no “classes” and the whole society is equally seated on the old wooden planks along the rustic wagons. If you have few hours to spare in Yangon, I truly recommend this experience, I loved it!

my tour in Namibia. Penduka Project in Windohek (Namibia) provides work for about 660 women making African wax prints , accessories and household objects. This way they can support their families and as a result their social status will improve both within their family and within their local community. I visited the workshops and meet the women who live and work there. I spent the night in one of the bungalows they built to accommodate tourists and promote sustainable tourism in the area and ate at their communal restaurant. It was an experience worth living! "Women in Namibia suffer from a low social status, which makes it difficult for them to find a job. As a result, the entire family lives in poverty. Unlike for European schools, the uniform in Japan, #oseifuku, is adopted both in the private and public institutes. The famele uniform is called #sailorfuku and is  adopted in middle school, high school, and occasionally even in primary schools. It was introduced as a school uniform in the early twentieth century and modeled on the uniform used by the British Royal Navy. Every school have a different uniform. Some are more casual, some are really old fashion…They say the more serious is the uniform, the more difficult is the school, therefore they are usually wore with great pride and respect.

In European folklore dragonflies were associated with witchcraft, bad omens and evil spirits. Though in Asia this creature of water (which symbolically deals with thoughts, dreams and intuition) is a symbol of our thoughts. To the Japanese the dragonfly symbolizes summer and autumn and is admired and respected all over, so much so that the Samurai use it as a symbol of power, agility and best of all, victory. And in China, people associate the dragonfly with prosperity, harmony and as a good luck charm. I love this photo, little pink petals like “snowflakes” fall gently on a pond in Shinjuku Goyen, one of the most beautiful places to view the #hanami in central #Tokyo. My most favorite part of the cherry blossoms is not the blooming but actually the falling. Following the Buddhist themes of mortality, mindfulness and living in the present, cherry blossoms are a timeless metaphor for human existence. Blooming season is powerful, glorious and intoxicating, but tragically short-lived — a visual reminder that our lives, too, are fleeting… reminds me of the intricate coloured-sand Mandalas I saw in Nepal,  brushed away once finished to teach us nothing lasts forever. Although women are not allowed to approach nor touch the Kyaiktiyo Pagoda (AKA Golden Rock) east of Myanmar, I loved waking up early in the morning to assist the devoteed paste their gold leaves on this massive granite boulder. According to legend, the Golden Rock itself is precariously perched on a strand of the Buddha's hair.
