With the season ending.....well like that. Not a lot of things left a feeling of resolved.

Should we expect the next part of your story to be release later this summer?

Hi!!! I have been so busy, mostly in great ways, but I have wonderful ideas brewing despite my absence. I hope to get to writing them this upcoming weekend! I feel so flattered people are still interested in what I create.

Do you watch One Chicago? Any plans or ideas of doing a SVU/CPD crossover fic?

Nope. SVU is the only crime show I watch. I work as a therapist in substance use disorders and do a lot of crisis work so I try to limit my exposure to television with stressful/emotionally taxing subject matter haha

Wow! Nice to know that I helped inspired you to finish that Nicole flashback fic. Honestly didn't expect it. It was really good!! But I wonder though who she was engaged to? And why she said yes in the first place if she has strong opinions about it from the start?

Also, any chance Amanda gets to meet another ex-girlfriend some time after this encounter? Like an LAPD detective or news reporter? *wink *wink

She wasn’t engaged to anybody :) in my not-totally-cannon-compliant world, I had Sonny propose to Amanda with his grandmother’s ring when she was discharged from the hospital. I have Covid so I am all discombobulated, so can’t remember the title of my own story, but it’s in there! One of the reasons I love this community is the inspiration it provides - so thank you!!❤️

Do you see yourself writing a Amanda meeting Nicole fic? It's a bummer those two never met. I would have enjoyed watching a Amanda vs Nicole. After Henry, I can see her fighting for Carisi's affections against Nicole.

Yes, I actually had something started where Amanda ran into Nicole, when Amanda and Sonny were “engaged.” Basically right before they got married.

What about mental health practitioners who don't need to work to live and have boats and cars and villas? If your client is struggling with paying for treatment and you don't need their money to survive, how can you say you care about the client if you continue to charge them over a hundred dollars a session? I'm genuinely asking.

I can't speak to how people choose to run their private practices. To me, the scenario you are depicting sounds rather greedy, and I would not do it myself. Then again, if you look at it like any other person in business world, maybe they are capitalizing on supply/demand: the need for mental health services has gone up and they have the skillset to offer it - at a price. I do not work in a setting where I charge hourly: I am a clinical director of an outpatient substance use disorder clinic and when I do see patients individually, it's via the clinic, and I don't set the cost, their insurance does.

If I were ever to have a private practice (doubtful, too boring!), my hope is that I would be financially stable enough to be able to offer sliding scale fees. I would not do it otherwise.

I will always stand behind the idea that people in helping professions do not owe anyone their services for free. We do not ask that of physicians (or anybody?), we should not ask if of therapists. It takes thousands of dollars and hours of education and training to become a therapist. We deserve to be compensated for that and clients/patients deserve that level of expertise when they come to us at their most vulnerable, seeking guidance. Who that cost ultimately falls on - well, that's a different story.
