Hey naomi. I just wanted to say thank you. Over the last couple years, I have gone through a lot of shit, an emerging sort of suspected plurality. For me, I was already coming to terms with my gender when it happened as a butch dyke. I ended up developing both a straight girl and a gay man persona to cope with all the sexual abuse. For me, it felt like both my femininity and masculinity were taken from me and so conflated with attraction to men, soemthing that is so distinctly not me, that it feels like all I have left to define myself by is my victimhood. I’m still trying to get clean. Still trying to reclaim that butchness. Needless to say, your art has continued to be a guiding fucking light these past few years. Dirty blood meant everything especially. Thank you so much.

face down in the mud is a song i wrote while trying to figure out whether there were more than one of me. the answer is still unclear but the song is about that feeling when what’s happening to you is so painful that the only way you know to cope is to detach. a part of you takes over that seems to take a perverse sort of pleasure in whatever’s happening to you, or at the very least is able to tolerate it better than ‘you’ can. it’s messy and i don’t fully know what it means yet, but i hope you enjoy the song
