Hey! Can you please explain what's happening in Israel and Palestine? Thank you!

Okay so Palestine is a country in the middle East which has been inhabitated by Muslim, Christian and Jewish Palestinians for generations. In 1948, Zionists forced about half of the indigenous population out of their homes in "The Catastrophe" to establish Israel. They've been forcing people out of their homes and killing people, even children during the holy month of Ramadan, a very important time for Muslims, they attacked the Al-Aqsa masjid, where people were just praying, shot bullets and tear gas at them. They're forcing people out of their homes in Sheikh Jarrah and they're bombing Gaza, where 21 have been killed, out of which 10 were children. This is no longer a political issue, this is a humanitarian issue, human rights are being violated, this is ethnic cleansing. It's not about religion, it's about land, colonialism and apartheid. Palestine has Jews, Muslims and Christians. Awareness needs to be spread because a lot of misinformation is being circulated, most of which is propaganda to make Israel appear in a better light, to hide their crimes.

Now this is not up for discussion if you don't agree with me, fine, but no clowning on this post. Israel is doing this, no matter how hard you try to deny it. More awareness needs to be spread about this

Meet Up

Little explanation before we jump in:

This is a mortal AU. No demigods. No gods. None of that stuff. Will and Nico are just normal teenage boys in a normal world.

Nico entered the mall that he and Will were supposed to meet up at. He was finally going to meet his online best friend of 3 years in real life. They had met online when Nico was about fourteen and Will was fifteen. Ever since they would always talk twenty-four-seven and try to be there for the other the best they could through a screen. Will lived in Austin, Texas and Nico lived in Manhattan, New York. Will was originally going to visit some relatives, but since they lived in the same city as Nico, they decided to meet up. Both boys have been excited about the meet up for days prior. They would stay up late at night on facetime talking about it. But what Nico was scared about is what he was going to do when he sees Will face to face in person. He had liked him for months now and didn’t know how Will would react if he found out, which made him even more scared to confess. He was honest with Will about everything but he kept his feelings for his best friend a secret, in fear that it would ruin the bond they had.

Nico was snapped out of his thoughts when his phone rang. He fished it out of his pocket and checked the caller’s ID, who was Will, and picked up. “Will, where are you?” Nico said into the phone, “I just came through gate one, where are you?” Nico checked the mall gate he walked through, “I’m at gate two, that shouldn’t be too far.” “Lemme just ask for direc-“ “No need. It’s near the café.” Will chuckled, “What?” Nico asked, smiling, Nico felt a hand on his shoulder and jumped, spinning around to find Will and the only Will standing behind him, phone pressed to his ear and a grin on his face. “Hello Nico.” Will said, Nico hearing it from the phone too, Nico’s heart started pounding against his ribs. He hadn’t realized how nervous he was to meet Will until now. “Will.” Nico managed to choke out, “Oh my god.” Will laughed and wrapped his arms around the younger boy, engulfing him in a hug. Will was so much taller than Nico so he had to bend down, but Nico nonetheless hugged him back. He buried his face in Will’s chest and inhaled the smell of cinnamon and something else he couldn’t make out filling his nose. “You smell nice.” Nico impulsively said once they broke apart, face burning in embarrassment when he realized he said that out loud. Will blushed, “Thanks.” The silence was awkward and Will was the first to break it “You’re shorter than I expected though.” Will smirked, Nico swatted Will’s arm, “I’m not short, you’re just too tall.” Will patted Nico’s head, “Whatever child.” “Don’t.” Nico warned, “What’re you gonna do? Break my kneecaps?” Nico looked him dead in the eyes with the most serious expression he could muster and said, “Yes.” Will burst into laughter and Nico couldn’t help but smile himself. After the laughter died Will sighed and said, “Where do you wanna go now?” Nico thought about it for a bit, “How about we go watch a movie then look around the shops?” “Sounds like a plan to me.” Will replied with a smile, “Lead the way.” Nico turned away before Will could see the blush creeping on his face. He didn’t know how we was going to survive this day but he had to try while trying not to expose himself.

“The movie was terrifying!” Will said after they left the theatre room, “I’m never going to be able to sleep again.” Nico rolled his eyes, “C’mon don’t be such a baby, it wasn’t that scary.” “It was.” “Baby.” Will stuck out his tongue at Nico, “Point proven.” Nico said as he playfully pushed Will’s arm, “I hate you.” Will replied with a pout, Nico felt his face burn. Will was absolutely adorable when he pouted. He looked away from Will’s face before he could notice his red cheeks “Uh-uh, we both know that’s not true.” Will shrugged, “I guess you’re right on this one.” They were silent for a bit as they walked when Nico felt Will’s hand slide into his. His eyes snapped to Will and he felt his heart’s rate increasing. “Wh- What-“Nico stuttered, Will’s cheeks were pink and his eyes were on the floor, “If you’re not comfortable with it you don’t have to-“ “No! It’s fine.” Nico answered too quickly, Will dragged his gaze back to Nico’s face and smiled, giving Nico’s hand a small squeeze. Nico felt lightheaded. Will was holding his hand. Will freaking Solace was holding his hand. Nico’s heart was beating in his ears and he was sure Will could hear it. His hand started sweating as they walked around the mall for a bit, and if Will noticed, he didn’t say anything.

They went around the shops, Will and Nico trying on random clothes and laughing their heads off at each other. Nico snapped pictures with his phone of him and Will posing in front of the mirror with their mismatched clothes, dorky expressions painted on their faces.

Nico had to use the restroom so he made Will wait for him. After washing and drying his hands on his jeans, he walked out of the restrooms to find a girl talking with Will. They seemed to be engrossed in whatever they were talking about. Before Nico could interrupt them, the girl pecked Will on his cheek and gave him a small paper. Nico’s heart clenched. He hesitated before walking up to them and tugging on Will’s shirt. “C’mon,” Nico said when Will turned to face him, “Let’s go.” Will nodded, saying goodbye to the girl and putting the paper in his pocket before leaving with Nico. Will tried slipping his hand back into Nico’s but Nico pulled his hand away this time. Will looked hurt, but didn’t say anything. Nico walked faster, to nowhere in particular. He knew he was being dramatic. Will was a free guy and he had no right to act this way. But it still hurt. Nico was lost in thought, blindly walking into a shop that was empty of costumers. He turned to face Will, “Who was that?” “What do you mean?” Will asked, startled, “I asked you a question William, who was that girl you were talking to.” “Why’re you asking?” “Just answer my damn question!” “What the hell does that have to do with you?” Nico rubbed his hand on his face, “Is it really that hard to answer?” “Why do you even care!?” Before Nico could stop himself he yelled, “BECAUSE I’M IN LOVE WITH YOU!” Will took a step back, shocked. “Because I’ve loved you for months!” Nico continued, tears threatening to spill from his eyes, “Because I can’t stop thinking about you! I- I can’t stop thinking about how beautiful and handsome you are. I can’t stop thinking about your gentle voice and how you’re always so kind to me. I can’t stop thinking about-“Nico’s voice cracked, “I can’t stop thinking about your damn lips and how much I want to fucking kiss them!” Nico forced himself to meet Will’s eyes, feeling exposed and raw, “Because you stole my heart William, that’s why I care.” Nico screwed his eyes shut, tears rolling off his face, preparing himself for rejection. But what came next completely threw him off. He felt soft lips press onto his. His eyes shot open in shock, feeling Will’s hand on the back of his neck and the other one on his hips. Nico slowly closed his eyes shut again and kissed Will back, wrapping his hands around the older boy’s torso. The world and time seemed to stop around them.

After seconds which felt like hours, maybe even days they pulled away, heavily breathing. They stared at each other, studying the other’s face. Nico suddenly broke into a giggling fit, burying his face in Will’s chest as he laughed. Will shortly joined and both of them were a laughing mess. After they calmed down a bit Will spoke up, “That girl was my older cousin,” he explained to Nico, “We haven’t seen each other in years and she gave me her new phone number.” Nico stared up at Will, “Oh.” He felt completely dumb and childish. “Hey it’s okay don’t feel bad. I would’ve acted the same way if I was you. Besides,” Will put his hand on Nico’s cheek, “I love you and only you. It’ll always be you, until the end.” Nico literally melted into Will’s arms, exhaling, “I love you too sunshine.” They heard someone clear their throat behind them and they jumped apart, startled. An old woman who seemed to be working in the shop was standing there, eyeing them. “This was beautiful and all, but are you going to buy anything gents? If not I’ll nicely have to ask you to leave.” Both boys blushed from embarrassment, “Sorry ma’am.” Will muttered, and they hurriedly left. Once they were out Nico looked at Will. “So... What does that make us?” Nico asked, Will smiled, pulling Nico closer, “Whatever you want.” Nico leaned into the embrace, “Boyfriends?” he whispered, Will kissed the top of Nico’s head, “If that’s what you want, then so be it.” Nico smiled, and pulled away, slipping his hand into Will’s, “I love you.” Said Nico, “I love you too.” Will replied,

They looked around a few more shops, hands tangled together all the time. Will wouldn’t be going back to Texas until next month, and they still had a lot of time to spend together. The thought of going back to talking to Will from behind a screen made Nico’s heart ache, but he couldn’t afford to be sad right now with Will by his side. He put these thoughts aside and focused on the present. He was the luckiest guy on earth, and for once, he let himself be happy.

Will and Nico go to the same highschool and Will is being cornered by one of the girls like usual and when Nico sees them Will sends him a troubled look that screamed help so Nico goes up to them and stands on his tipy toes to peck Will on his cheek then turns to the girl and asks Will “Who’s this babe?” and the girl’s eyes widen cuz no one ever thought the emo lonely kid would be dating the handsome popular guy and her ears and cheeks turn red from embarrassment and she runs off and Nico has a smug look painted on his face and Will is just melting right on the spot cuz, oh my fucking gods his boyfriend is so adorable

Nico’s body shook with effort every time he threw up into the small trash can. His hands were shaking, and he felt as if hammers were pounding his head. Jason sat by his side, rubbing circles on his back as he tried his best to comfort the other boy. Nico thought he was over Percy, but he was wrong. Ever since their encounter with Cupid last July, he’d fallen harder for the son of Poseidon. And not long after the second giant war, he got the hanahaki disease, and his condition has been getting worse by the day. Nico coughed, and petals covered with blood escaped his mouth, falling into the trash can where the other petals lay. “F-Fuck.” Nico stuttered, tears brimming his eyes, “It’s okay Nico.” Jason whispered as he patted Nico’s shoulder, “We’ll figure something out.” “No J-Jason. It’s over. The only w-way to cure the disease is by-“Nico’s voice cracked, “By Percy liking me back, which will never happen. He already has Annabeth, and I- I don’t want to ruin what they have.” “We’ll find another way. There has to be another way.” Jason insisted, Nico coughed, more petals falling in the trash can. His nose started heavily bleeding and Jason passed him the box of tissues. Nico took a fistful of tissues and pressed them to his bleeding nose, in hope to stop the bleeding. “Jason, both you and I know there’s no other way to cure this stupid disease. It’s fatal, and it’s only a matter of time before it kills me.” Jason opened his mouth to say something, but a knock on the door stopped him. He got to his feet, leaving Nico sitting alone on the floor. Nico couldn’t see who the person at the door was, but he recognized their voice. “Hey Jason.” Said Percy, and Nico fought back a cough, his lungs throbbing, Jason glanced at Nico, “Hi Perce, what’s up?” “Is Nico in there?” Nico coughed petals and blood onto his hands, “Yeah but he’s- he’s sick.” “Oh, I was hoping that he can train with me, but if he’s sick I’ll come around later.” “Alright.” “Tell our little Nico I said hi.” “Sure man.” Jason closed the door and looked at Nico, who was sobbing, his head resting on the wall behind him. “Nico…” “J-Just leave me a-alone.” Nico said between sobs, Jason walked back to him, and crouched beside him, “You need company Nico, I can’t-“ Nico suddenly lurched forward, coughing hard into the trash can. With one last cough, he threw up, and what he saw terrified him. A flower stained with blood sat at the bottom of the trash can. He was having trouble breathing as more flowers grew in his lungs. Jason’s eyes widened when he saw what laid in the trash can now, “Nico-“ “Go.” Nico said, “Nico please-“ “GO!” Jason sighed, and got to his feet. “I’m in my cabin if you need anything.” Nico hastily nodded, and Jason left. The son of Hades tried to take in a deep breath, but that only lead to him coughing more petals and blood. Nico hated it so much. He hated everything so much. He wanted to scream. Love was supposed to bring someone happiness, not pain. End it, What? Kill yourself, it would be less painful, No Do it, it’s better than suffering from the disease and having a slow death full of pain, Stop You know I’m right You’re not, stop it Jump off a cliff As much as he wanted the pain to stop, killing himself didn’t seem like a good option. But it’s better than the death that awaits you Nico sighed, No one would notice …Jason would You think he cares? He doesn’t Shut up No one will know They’ll find the body After it’s too late I don’t know Would you prefer slowly suffocating to your death? …. I’ll do it

That night, Nico shadow traveled to a cliff that overlooked the ocean. The view was beautiful, but he didn’t think much about it. He had a job to finish here. Nico looked down and saw rocks at the bottom of the cliff. Perfect, Nico coughed up petals stained with blood, and his nose started bleeding. He straightened and wiped his nose with the back of his hand. His head started throbbing and a branch grew out of his wrist. Nico took another step, closer to the edge, and looked up at the sky, “I’m sorry.” He whispered, tears streaming down his face. Nico turned around so that his back was to the ocean and closed his eyes. He stepped back, and then he was falling, a smile set on his face, his arms stretched in front of him as he fell backwards to his death. It felt like he was falling in slow motion, but soon, he hit the ocean, cold and pain engulfing him. Nico let himself sink, staring up at the moon light through the murky water. He started blacking out, smiling as his life slipped away. I’m free

(To the ppl who don’t know what the hanahaki disease is, it’s basically a disease a person gets when they like someone, but the love is one sided. Flowers start growing in their lungs, slowly suffocating them. They constantly have headaches, cough up petals, throw up blood, lose their appetite, have nose bleeds and branches start growing from their body. The only way to cure it is for the other person to return their feelings and the flowers will disappear. Or they can just have a surgery and get the flowers removed from their lungs, but they’d lose feelings. I didn’t include the surgery part in the one-shot bcz ~demigods~. It’s not real tho, so dw you’re good :D)

Whenever Nico is upset or stressed, Will hugs him from behind and then picks him up bridal style and carries him to the Hades cabin then sits him down on the bed and gets all of the blankets in the cabin and wraps them around Nico like a human burrito then he gets him snacks and he joins him in the human burrito and softly kisses his neck and Nico just relaxes back into Will's arms and then he rants about what’s making him stressed and upset and Will is carefully listening while stroking and playing with Nico’s hair and internally dying bcz of the cute hand gestures his boyfriend makes whenever he rants about smthng then they watch a movie while eating snacks and cuddling and just spend the rest of the day together talking about anything and everything *exhale* I need to stop before I die from cuteness overload
