Quote 36
It was a gradual decline.
I couldn't even tell you when it began.
But, at some point, the colours grew dull and the sun stopped shining so brightly and I found that my favourite time of day was when I could pretend that I didn't exist.

Quote 35
"Don't you remember how we laughed? The fun we'd had when we finally got away from everything?"
"I suppose I do," she said, a look came across her face, I couldn't quite place it but I could tell it was nothing good.
"then why do you look like something awful has happened?"
"it's just... The knowing. I think I would have enjoyed this more if I didn't know that this was the last time,"
"This is the last time?"

Quote 34
Do you feel ashamed of yourself when you hear my name?
I've been thinking through every possibility of what you could possibly feel when you're reminded of what you did to me.
I hope it eats you alive.
The guilt.
I hope it kills you.

Quote 33
I am too weak to handle all this change.
It's too fast.
Too much.
I want to go home.
Please take me home.

Quote 32
I am no killer.
But I crave the blood leaking down my face,
Let me rip flesh from bone,
Let me scratch and bite away at something,
Someone,
I want the mania to take over, finally.
Let me be an animal again.

Quote 31
It was incredibly lonely getting to know the world when you left.
But, darling, as the days went on I found that the moment you left was the moment my life started.

Quote 30
It was hard looking at you and seeing how easily you did it.
Moving on.
I just thought that once I was gone, you'd realize what you'd lost.
But there you are, happier than before.
Like I was holding you back. Like you were finally free.

Quote 29
"I scraped myself off the floor and I got up because I was the only person that I could rely on."
"Surely you had someone. Friends? Family?" She asked, still completely enthralled by my story.
"Maybe once, but not when I needed them."

As I watched you walk away, the reasons it all went wrong followed you.

With a bite mark on my shoulder and a scar on my mind, you stand in front of me and say, "not all men."

Hypocrisy in Real Life
Have the rules changed in my absence? I find myself asking this question more often than I would like to admit.
There appears to be a double standard when it applies to you. One moment you are against it, then it happens to you. You always seem to be the one exception. The person who has the privilege to defy the rules.
If you happen to be offended by these words then I am probably talking about you. Don't worry. I'm talking about me too.

Quote 26
They didn't say what it was that happened to me. They used fancy words like:
Violation
Impurity
Defiled
Abuse
They never used that word, why I'd never heard of it until now. It sounds so vicious, like it could only be done by an animal. I suppose it is the only word to describe what happened.
Rape.

Quote 25
I couldn't help but notice the blood dripping down my thighs. I felt the scratch marks burn into my skin and the place where he ripped at my neck with his teeth.
Why did he do it?
"It is the price of being a woman"

Quote 24
"I don't really think I belong here anymore... in fact, I don't think I ever did."
A realization that killed her, if only she had stayed.

He was never really sure what he wanted and that meant that he had to learn that a life of indecision is a death sentence.

Quote 22
"I looked down at the world and saw the people walking around or rushing to their jobs, doing the things that people do, ya know?"
"Don't look at people. They confuse cruelty for kindness and call it love. We are far too intelligent to get mixed up in all of that."
"But... could you imagine it? To be down there and feel like the universe revolves around you, making yourself important because you haven't seen what's out here yet."

We could only wish for the moments that we lost with each other, as if life would give us another chance.
