'Lillies not for me' is so beautifully filmed and acted but a very hard watch 😭 I expected sad, but nauseating / disturbing was the takeaway feel. It's one that will stay in the mind 😭 Certainly some content warnings for anyone a bit queasy with medical things - not much shown but the concepts are disturbing. __ For ROP fans: Would write more but don't want to spoil. Elrond is ready for series 3 battles, though, unexpected muscles! ;)

Fic: In Black Anger - Chapter 3

Galadriel, Elrond and Arondir go over previous events together and find a measure of peace.

A little writing snippet I sadly couldn't fit into In Black Anger “I knew it all along!” Durin puffed out his chest. “Something wasn’t right. He was all starlight and satisfaction. Said he knew you, by the way.” He nodded to Elrond. “Tried on some compliments. Disa warned me not to make waves but I never trusted him.”

Have been playing with this fic again, exploring a bit of an AU after s2e7, with lots of interactions between various characters. Hope you enjoy reading if interested ^_^

“She lives,” Arondir confirms at once, wishing to allay the fear written plainly across Elrond’s face. “She had fallen from that great height.” Or jumped, he thinks, recalling Sauron’s touch upon his own mind - but does not say so aloud.

Elrond brushes a stray hair from Galadriel’s dirtied forehead, fingers tracing the small cuts upon her ear and chin - coming to hover over the blacked wound.

Handy writing tool - Voice aloud reader

Sharing something I find helpful for the writing (and reading) process: having the text read aloud.

For writing, it's great for spotting repeated words, overused phrasing, dialogue and general flow

For reading, it means I can read fanfic/articles while doing chores or driving/riding ^_^

I've been using @Voice Aloud Reader for many years, and while it's not super pretty and is glitchy when needing to close the ads, it's the best I've found on Android for the job. I usually open the fic webpage (or my google doc) Share > Add to list

or Select all > Copy > Paste while viewing another article on my list. You can change the voice and speed to fit your preferences.

Final writing tip: if writing on computer, unplug your external mouse - then you won't be tempted to doom scroll ^_^

The wind picked up, lifting the smell of roasting meat to his hungry nostrils. Durin’s mouth flooded with saliva and he sniffed.

“Are you hungry, dwarf?” the man by the fire called, his blackened teeth grinning in what felt like mockery. "A fat, young deer ran across our path - "

Yay! The story is finally complete! Thanks to those who have followed along and hope the last lengthy chapter is a good reward ^_^

Durin's boots

I was considering describing Durin's boots as part of my fic, and noticed they have textured toes :o (Disa too). Impressive costuming! Posting here so I can easily link to it ^_^

Lifting his palm to Elrond’s forehead, Durin said in jest, “A compliment? You must be ill indeed!” He could feel the heat beneath the elf's skin. The smell of blood had already filled the small space - the air felt thick with it.

This scared him more than all previous apparitions.

I don't really understand all aspects of using Tumblr but thanks for the interactions so far and I like reading along with the chats. Hope you enjoy this quieter chapter. I think only one to go after this one ^_^

“Very comforting,” Durin cut in.
