I'm officially part of Piemations' Official 5 AM at Freddyâs: The Prequel REBUILT reanimation project. An honor I must say cuz I love Mike Pitt's YouTube channel and especially adored his Pretzel and Carv characters. So I drew them for the commemoration.

It took forever to make this "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers" villains lineup because of other committments but I got it done. I'm sort of drawn into the designs I did for Rita Repulsa, Scorpina and Baboo. And I have no idea why.

Why isn't no body talking much about Paul Rudish's "3 Dog Band" pilot he made for Cartoon Network's scrapped Cartoonstitute anthology? Rudish has never disappointed me from Secret Squirrel to Sym-Bionic as well as the Mickey Mouse shorts for Disney TV and the pilot, while definitely not suited for CN humor-wise, was beautifully scored and had awesome character designs.
I also especially love the concept of how diverse the main 3 characters are in not only both music genre and ethnic-wise but also anatomical as well with Sly having a more Hirschfield-curvy flow and Stavros having a blocky, flat and robotic yet volumetric figure
Check out the HD version of the pilot here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNx8WwiOwzM

RIP Pope Francis
I'm not Catholic but the frequent uproar of the pope's death reminded me of an adult cartoon made in dear old Ireland called "Popetown".
All religious nuts are advised with viewer discretion, but I decided to draw the cartoon Pope and Father Nicholas from the show. While the stories are far from funny, the designs are rather cute and funny looking.

Another one for the heck of it: 2014 vs 2025.
I had no idea why this show is trending right now nor why I was obsessed with it in high school. It was VERY obscure. Possibly because of Mo Willems' involvement of designing the main cast or maybe because I enjoyed Arrested Development at the time. But I was mostly fond of the "Stuart Proszakian" character in the show because I LOVE Will Forte's work. I've revisit the show again and the characters are very unlikeable and depressing, but the cast are well-rounded and Stuart still holds up as the most tolerable. It was a fun exercise to draw the character one more time.

2006 vs 2025
Today is the anniversary of Danny Phantom, one of my favorite Nickelodeon shows growing up as a kid; and I uncovered a fan-fictional Jimmy Timmy Power Hour-inspired book I wrote and illustrated when I was in 2nd grade. And one of the drawings was apparently Danny. I was even observant then. I can tell it was from 2006 because the book was inspired by the 2nd Jimmy Timmy crossover, which premiered at the time, and by then, Danny Phantom already got his logo in his jumpsuit. I was even observant then honestly.
Never stop drawing kids.

This was a practice to try to streamline and revamp the design of a classic Hanna Barbera cartoon series; inspired by the 2 Stupid Dogs version of Secret Squirrel, which I loved growing up. I chose Crazy Claws from The Kwicky Koala Show mostly because it's one of the most obscure shows made in HB, plus I enjoy Groucho Marx films (which was the motif for Crazy's voice IIRC).
Going for a flat, graphic and continuous flow on their builds while adding sharp angles. I try not to make them too much unrecognizable while still slightly keeping their design flat and graphic. Also made Crazy Claws' namesake more prominent by having his actual hands literally sharp.
Rawhide Clyde always seemed like just a Yosemite Sam-expy (makes sense since the show's creator Tex Avery was a Golden Age WB alumni), so I replaced his giant beard with a more Fred Flintstone-esque stubble, which sort of makes him more original. I also gave Bristletooth a little stubby yet not too blobby type of body to contrast Crazy Claw's slick and fast design.
I think I did pretty good for the most part.

I haven't been happy with my art recently so as a practice and to get a better hand on self-improvement, I did some rough warnup sketches where I study the construction and poses of some character designs (a lot of which from my favorite artists) and use it as a practice to see how there drawn, executed and try to be influenced by them in my future work.
The ones that I'm particularly fond of are the poses by Stephen Silver, Craig McCracken, Ben Ballastreri and Carey Yost because of their fluidity and variety their body proportions possess, as well as trying to make them volumetric and streamlined at the same time. Also because I'm an anime nerd, I also tried studying poses from Shotaro Ishinomori, Tatsuo Yoshida and Rumiko Takahashi, which turned into a good result so far.

This lineup exercise was inspired by cartoonist Keelan Parham's funny interpretation of a "Karate Kid" cartoon adaptaion (different from the terrible Saban one), which you can see here:Â https://keelanparham.com/2007/12/14.....ly-karate-kid/
Parham was doing an exercise on making a character design lineup inspired by an 80s movie, and I personally chose "The Lost Boys" because my sister is a fan of the franchise and we watched it repeatingly when we were kids. Much like Parham, I also took the initiative on designing them into a more lawyer-friendly conservative take as if they didn't have clearance to use the film actors' likeness but resembled them enough as to not confuse the viewers. That's practically been the norm for most animated adaptations of popular films such as Jim Carrey cartoon shows (Ace Ventura, Dumb and Dumber, etc.), Back to the Future and many more. I've been having fun exploring weird body shapes as well and a weird inking technique of getting a thick line width on top and bottom.
I enjoyed this a lot too.

I am saddened by the loss of George Lowe; Tad Ghostal, Brakâs dad and many more.
I was there when Space Ghost Coast to Coast was still airing on Cartoon Network before it moved to Adult Swim when I was a pup.
My only corresponds with George was personally messaging him on Facebook about potentially booking him for a voice role on an idea that sadly never came to fruition. And now the idea of even seeing him is longed since dead as of now. His work always fascinated me.
So I drew this in honor of him. Excuse the ink smudges, it wasnât necessary fully dry yet.
See you, Mr. Beefy!

Hail to thee Ol' Pizza Cats!
I was hyped when they recently announced the new "Samurai Pizza Cats" video game coming out on Steam (I'm on the wishlist). Watching this show online when I was in 2nd-4th grade, I loved these goofball cats. I'm surprised how they were managed to get off of copyright limbo for the game to even happen, let alone a translated one from the Saban version.
So I drew the main 3 cats to commemorate.

I found out that in my school we get to make thesis films for our third and fourth/final year. While it is waaaaaaayyy too early for that, on the wayside, I've been developing some potential thesis film ideas and characters to save for later. Who knows what could happen? Maybe I might take them as their own standalone film or maybe they might be used.
One of the ideas I have involves a wise-ass and invasive Michael Scott-meets-Groucho Marx-esque hyena who set up a circus-themed Entertainment Agency and her employees and clients (who are freakshow attractions) always puts up with her crazy and weird shit. I was anticipating it to be an office-comedy since I've been watching The Office lately, but also want to execute it in a matter similar to Smiling Friends where weird shit happens along the way.
This is one of the development pieces I did of the boss character and their assistant (I'm trying to make it work in a way that's different from another concept I have; more on that later), and I haven't even revealed any of the other employees neither. I've been tweaking their designs a bit and as this is preliminary sketch concept, they may even look vastly different at this point than they do now (I've also been working on the name of the concept too).
Let's see what happens when I take these goofsters into the next level.

Those that grew up in the UK or were fans of Danger Mouse both when it aired in England or when it debuted in Nickelodeon in the US during the 80s can remember this guyâŠ. BANANAMAN!!! Ever alert for the call to action!
I accidentally stumbled upon this guy as a kid looking up and discovering old Nickelodeon 80sâ recordings, getting introduced to Danger Mouse, Count Duckula and more British imports. The animation was very held back and some of the character voices seemed too overpowered by the music score but it was entertaining and goofy.

Happy Birthday, Jim Carrey.
Carrey was one of the hard-core pieces of developing Addilae's character, plus "In Living Color" was on my brain (or specifically the "Informer" parody that Carrey performed in one of the skits) when I created the piece. So here's Addilae being a knock off of Jim who is being a knock off of Snow!
Note; this is not gonna be Addilae's final colors cuz I'm still experimenting. More on that later.

Time for me to introduce this lovable goofsterâŠ. Addilae Grimm. CEO, Headhoncho, Ringmaster, Grand Poobah and Cult leader of âThe Guild of Grimmâ.
Your gonna see this guy frequently in the âThe Land of Oddâ, my in-development webcomic series coming soon to a theatre near you. Addilae was a character I had for years since elementary school. I was always intrigued with the works of Jim Carrey specifically not more so of his cartoonish rubbery character movement (but that does play a good part on him) but more so of his voice direction and enunciation. Most specifically âThe Cable Guyâ and âAce Venturaâ characteristics were what I was going for but I figured it would be hilarious if stuff like that would came out of the mouth of a fanboy/otaku-like geekboy whose not only obsessive over the occult and all things weird but has the same vernacular when discussing his favorite anime moments or hypothetical conspiracy theories. Vocal wise, although I want some Carrey-mannerisms sprinkled into it, I was also envisioning both the soft-spoken vocal tone of Paul Reubens (another fantastical actor RIP) but with the occasional fast-talking and sometimes overly banting Robin Williams pattern for how he speaks.
Addilaeâs hairstyle is essentially inspired by John Linnell of They Might Be Giants but simplified and stylized for an animated type look. Plus the spiky haired style fits the anime-obsessed motif I was going for. I was also trying some outfit choices (even using the Linnell black striped shirt) but was inspired by Leonard Hoftsteder from The Big Bang Theory to give him a jacket.
Addilae is practically Carrey trapped in the body of a âoverly-geeky and nerdy 21 and overâ P.T. Barnum showman cultist enthusiastically obsessed with under-covering the beauty of what humanity has to offer all abnormality and mysterious discoveries, and wants to share these thoughts with others. And although he possessed many magic abilities such as shape shifting, teleporting and many more unmentionable powers, he rarely exhuberates them unless itâs for a simple visual gag or joke. Addilae isnât necessarily the main focus of the comic, as the comic is gonna have a large plethora of characters and Addilae is part of the small group thatâs the most centered on. When I was worried about how characters of no relation and with different driven-objectives would even work together, I remembered one of my favorite graphic novels âAmerican Born Chineseâ was able to execute a story perfectly using three recurring ones that look like they shouldnât go together but were able to connect to one another in some way.
But what is âThe Guild of Grimmâ that you ask? WelpâŠ
Thus concludes our broadcast day!
