hi all! this is wendy @musashi. my tumblr blog was wrongfully terminated, i presume because i recently made a popular post that vaguely mentioned loving trans women and got sacked by the t/e//r////f mob's mass reporting campaign.

the official reason tumblr banned me was for "hoarding urls" which i very much did not do. i just had a lot of sideblogs, almost all of them active at some point or another. now no one can use those URLs because they are tied to a terminated account. if tumblr needed me to release some of the less active ones, i gladly would've.

it appears as though i was mass reported and tumblr just tried to find a reason to nix me because the ter//ve///s were clogging their pipes and i'm the easier answer to the trolley problem at their HQ.

many of these sideblogs are now gone, and i will be working to get them back up in time if i cannot get my account back.

i am putting on a brave face but i am fucking heartbroken. 14 years of my life were on that blog. that is literally half of my life on earth. countless pieces of art, memories, and snapshots of my adolescence and young adulthood just, like, gone. when i suffered from severe traumatic amnesia in 2016, it was that tumblr blog that helped me recall a TON of my life experiences & who i was. that blog literally saved my life.

with it i lose countless memories and almost 10k followers, as well as a community that i spent a very long time building up. tons of friends whos usernames i did not get, and anons who were never able to give them to me.

please share my story! my name is wendy. my old url was musashi. i liked ace attorney. i liked pokemon. i made youtube videos where i talked autistically about my faves. i liked to write, and make people laugh. i loved it here and i am sad tumblr has chosen to side with the mob instead of listening to that story. i have been here since 2010, and my blog and community meant so much to me.

That's not the issue. I completely understand why people, especially Trans people are so upset about this, and they have a right to be. Everyone who's been hurt or affected by these horrible nasty things, the injustice, the murder, the mistreatment; they all have every right to be mad about everything regarding this story.

All I'm saying is that instead of focusing that anger and hate towards people who very-well might not know any better about this stuff is not the way to go about changing things. All it does is cause more needless grief and add fuel to the fire.

By no means am I saying that anyone should just take this lying down. Everyone should be disgusted not only by the actions of J.K. Rowling, but also by the actions of these political parties. Hogwarts Legacy deserves every ounce of the hatred and vitriol it gets. You're absolutely right that the years of suffering and abuse the LGBT+ Community as a whole can't be compared to maybe a handful of genuinely ignorant people getting their feelings hurt on the internet.

But bullying people who may be uneducated on all the horrible things surrounding this game is unacceptable regardless.

Nobody should be giving this game any support or publicity at all. But those who are supporting the game should be educated about all the horrible things surrounding it, rather than just being labeled as monsters for something they didn't even realize they were supporting.

TLDR; Everyone has a right to be upset with streamers for supporting and playing this shit, and yes they deserve some backlash. But, again, Cyber-Bullying will NEVER be ok. If you want to be angry at someone be angry at Rowling and those politicians. Be angry at the people who are actually bigoted. Right now, all this directionless anger is just going to make the people hurt by this look like "Butt-hurt little snowflakes".

People/Steamers crying about getting shit over buying and playing hogwarts legacy vs trans people dealing with politicians and pundits calling for their genocide and being kind of understandably furious at streamers for enabling JK Rowling’s anti semitism and transphobia in the midst of fascists using any means to get legitimacy to kill lgbt people.

Edit: Free Terf and fascist blocklist in the notes. Turned off reblogs due to bad fucking takes and increasing hostility, and my own personal frustration. This was over trans people facing hate and Streamers and people drawing attention to the fact they are playing a video game with an author is against them and getting pushback for it, they are not comparable things. If I could just say this, I totally agree with you 100% that people shouldn't give Rowling anymore money than she already has. And I totally agree that this game (as well as, let's face it, a lot of this franchise) has a lot of gross transphobia, racism, homophobia and antisemitism.

But I genuinely don't see the point in going out of your way to harass and bully some content creators to the point of tears over this game. Again, can't stress enough that I agree that people shouldn't support it or give it attention, but you have to remember a lot of the people playing this game might not be as educated on the dark underbelly of this series or J.K. Rowling's nonsense.

That's no excuse for it, but still, going out of your way to be downright cruel to someone who just wants to play a game that interests them instead of educating them on why the content/creators might be harmful, just doesn't make sense to me.

TLDR; Cyber-Bullying in any capacity is not the way to go with this. Educating streamers and content creators on the nasty stuff involved in this game should be the goal.
