NEW FIC OUT SOON!
Here's a little preview since I've been really bad at updating you all...
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
But now, it seemed that Nick had actually finally gone insane, and hadn't a care in the world about Charlie's diminishing amount of oxygen in his lungs.
"Oh please," Nick rolled his eyes, though the grin on his lips never disappeared, "it hasn't been that long. Five minutes maybe-"
"NIHIHICK!"
"Okahay, okay." The older boy eased up a bit, his fingers still ghosting over his sides to keep him giggling lightly.
"You- yohohou..." Charlie could hardly speak, his eyes trained on the ceiling above him as the giggles kept escaping him.
Nick raised an eyebrow at him, chuckling. "Me?"
"You're so mehean."
"Mean? Oh, no. I'm very nice." Nick argued, then playfully narrowed his eyes. "But now that you say that, I can show you what mean really is."
"No!" Charlie squealed in panic, already trying to push himself out from underneath the older boy, but Nick just chuckled and pulled him back.

“this is all super new to me.”
“i think that i like this. can you do it some more?”
“can you show me how to do that?”
“be quiet! other people might be able to hear you, you know!”
“i have no weaknesses.”
“i’m not going to be taken down by something as childish as tickling.”
“not there!”

“whoa! i didn’t expect that much of a reaction.”
“this is gonna be fun.”
“hey! this is a serious matter!”
“this is amazing.”
“you’ll never live this down.”
“i’m gonna get you back!”

Prompt #24 - "It's just a scratch."
Turning the Tables
At first, Charlie thought he had just been seeing things- his sleep schedule wasn't great in the first place, so he was pretty tired. It wouldn't surprise him if his eyes were playing tricks on him. But it sure as hell had looked like there was a thin, long red line trailing just above Nick's knee he'd noticed while they'd been in the changing room after rugby practice that afternoon. Charlie hadn't commented on it, since about half of the team was still hanging out on the benches, so he decided to let it go for the time being.
But then later, Charlie saw it again when they were preparing for bed at Nick's house. He hated the thought of Nick being hurt, even if it was a little bit, so finally, after some mental contemplation, he decided to bring it up. "What did you do to your knee?"
Nick turned from where he was standing by the mirror, taking a quick glance down at himself. "Oh." He shrugged, looking back up at his boyfriend. "Must've done that a couple days ago during conditioning. It's not a big deal."
"But you're hurt," Charlie argued, furrowing his brows in concern.
Nick smiled softly, finding his boyfriend's worry over him adorable. He walked over to where Charlie was sat on his bed and climbed over top of him, gently pressing his lips to his. He pulled back after a second, running a hand through his curls. "It's just a scratch, Char."
"But what if it gets infected?" Charlie asked him, for the first time not being able to focus on his boyfriend's attempts to calm him down. "What if you'll need to go to the doctor?"
"For a scratch?" Nick raised an eyebrow, letting out a chuckle. "I think I'm okay."
"Nick, at least let me bandage your leg." Charlie offered, gently pushing Nick off of him and sitting back up from his place on the pillows. He swung his legs over the side of the bed and stood up, starting for the bedroom door.
"Char, c'mon," Nick whined, reaching for his boyfriend's arm, "I swear I'm fine!"
Charlie let Nick turn him back towards him, and he sighed, letting his eyes fall back down to his knee. "Fine. But I want you to keep an eye on this." He let his fingers fall to his knee, gently tracing over his knee cap.
He was expecting Nick to let out a groan, wrap his arms around him and pull him back down onto the mattress. What he didn't expect was Nick's knee to jerk up violently as he drew in a sharp breath.
"What? Did I hurt you?" Charlie panicked, pulling his hand back as if he'd been burned.
"No, no," Nick was quick to reassure, grabbing his hand and running his thumb over the top. "You didn't do anything wrong."
"But you reacted weirdly when I touched your knee..."
"It's nothing, alright?" Nick tried to smile, but Charlie could see a blush starting to form on his cheeks. He narrowed his eyes at him, slowly moving his free hand back down to his knee and squeezing lightly.
Nick gasped, his knee jerking again as he let go of Charlie's hand to grab at the other. "Stop it!"
"No. Way." Charlie's eyes widened, and his lips split into a wide grin.
"Charlie..."
"Nick. You're ticklish, aren't you?"
"No."
"No?"
"No, I'm noHOT, stop!" Nick couldn't help the frantic giggle that escaped him when Charlie's fingers didn't cease their movements.
"Oh my god, this is great!" Charlie was thrilled.
Nick whined, trying to pull his boyfriend's hand off of his leg, but the grin was threatening to split his face in half. "Great hohohow?"
"You tickle me all the time! Now I can get back at you for torturing me so much!"
Nick's laughter picked up a bit as Charlie's other hand started pinching at his thigh. "Wihill yohohou stohop?"
"Aww, I don't want to," Charlie pouted playfully, clearly enjoying himself, and Nick groaned.
Quick as a flash, before Charlie could react, his arms shot out, grabbing his boyfriend's waist and twisting them so that Charlie was back on his back in Nick's bed, just as they had started.
Charlie was already giggling as Nick leaned down close to him, pressing their foreheads together.
"Never," he said breathlessly, "do that again."
"Oh, so it's fair when you tickle me, but not when I tickle you? Can't take what you dish out?"
Nick scowled playfully, moving his hands up and pinching his sides, causing him to squeak. "Watch it, Spring. I know for a fact you're way more ticklish than I am."
Charlie snickered, "I didn't even tickle you that much. How would I know that myself?"
Nick's eyes widened. "Wanna bet?"
Charlie shook his head, but he couldn't stop the laughter pouring out of him a moment later. Of course, he couldn't help but throw in a few pokes to Nick as well, catching him off guard momentarily.
But in the end, he knew Nick was right... not that he'd admit that out loud.

Prompt #33 for N & C ler/lee please
A/N: hi anon! ty for the prompt :) hope you enjoy!
if you want to send me prompts to my inbox you can find the list here!
Prompt #33: "Oh? You want me to tickle you that badly?"
Missing You Making Me Laugh
Two weeks away from each other was enough.
Charlie had known Nick was going on holiday with his family well in advance. Nick had told him about his family's tradition of traveling to Menorca every year to get together with the rest of his extended family, and how one day he wanted to take Charlie with him. Even a few hours apart from one another at school was agonizing for the both of them in general, so two weeks in different countries was absolute hell.
Luckily, Nick had kept his promise of calling Charlie every night to talk to him, checking in on his mental health back home and updating him about his cousins' antics around the vacation house. He'd send him pictures of the dogs together, him and other relatives, and so on, but Charlie still felt lonely without the older boy next to him.
He wasn't afraid to let his boyfriend know how he felt when he'd call, and every time Nick would answer with, "I know, I miss you too. It's only a few more days and I'll be back." Then he'd give him that classic, charming Nick Nelson smile that always stole Charlie's heart.
It wasn't just Nick's company Charlie was missing. It was something else. Something that made Charlie blush whenever he thought about it, giddiness and nerves overtaking him on the inside.
Charlie was known by his friends to be extremely ticklish. He, Tao, Elle, and Isaac had had their fair share of tickle fights and ambushes, and for as long as he could remember, Charlie very nearly was always being ganged up on. He couldn't help it, of course. He'd always been a walking tickle spot since he was little, Tori taking advantage of it as her duty of being the older sibling. It was something he'd tried and obviously had failed at hiding from Nick once they began dating, more out of embarrassment than anything.
When Nick had figured out Charlie's ticklishness, he'd gushed about how adorable he found it and that it just added to one of the things he loved best about him.
Charlie had been extremely embarrassed at first, but slowly became comfortable with the fact that Nick wasn't weirded out by him. In fact, Nick tickled him at almost every chance he got, almost anywhere they were. It made Charlie feel overjoyed by the fact that someone wasn't afraid to be physically affectionate with him, even if it meant being at the receiving end of it all.
But now, Charlie almost felt starved by this absence. He didn't have Nick whispering teases into his ear as he held him close against his chest. He didn't have him chasing him around his house and cornering him before tickling him into hysterics. He missed Nick's goofy self whenever he got into his moods, and he wanted it more than anything. And he needed that now.
He was currently sitting at his desk in his bedroom, on one of his daily calls with his boyfriend. The sun was setting through the window, and Charlie knew he didn't have much time until he needed to get ready to head off to bed. He could hear Nick talking about his afternoon, helping to babysit the younger of his cousins, but he wasn't truly listening. His thoughts kept going to that one specific thing he had on his mind all day.
"Charlie?" On the screen, Nick's face was filled with concern, his head tilted slightly. "What's wrong? You look all flushed."
Charlie cleared his throat, "I-I'm fine." Then as an afterthought, "Sorry."
"No," Nick shook his head, his eyes narrowing. "No S-words from you, sir. I thought we banned that word for good."
Charlie bit his lip, his heart racing in his chest. "Oh yeah, I forgot. Sorry."
Nick wasn't oblivious. He could see the beginning of that cheeky smirk even through the screen of his phone.
"Charles Francis Spring," He said slowly, causing Charlie to shiver in his chair, "Are you purposely trying to rile me up right now?"
Charlie felt like his whole being was on fire from how hard he was blushing. Even through the phone screen he couldn't look Nick in the eye.
"Talk to me. What are you thinking in that pretty little head of yours?"
"I-I-" the younger swallowed, adrenaline pumping through his veins. He knew Nick had caught on to what he wanted. Of course he had. Nick could read Charlie like an open book. It felt like he was right there in his bedroom with him.
"Is there something you want from me?" Nick couldn't help his own smirk from appearing on his face, raising an eyebrow at his boyfriend teasingly.
"Stooop," Charlie whined, covering his face with his hands, a nervous giggle escaping his lips.
"I'm just asking a question!" Nick laughed, and Charlie shook his head, still hiding his face. After a moment of silence, Nick leaned in a little. "Charlieee..."
"Do I have to say it?" Charlie asked, finally peaking through his fingers at his boyfriend and trying not to combust.
"I'd love to hear it."
They kept their eyes locked with one another, both of them grinning like idiots. Finally, Charlie let out a long sigh, looking down at his hands.
"I- I want you to..." His voice was barely audible, and Nick chuckled as he trailed off. "What? I'm sorry, you want me to...?"
"You know what." Charlie said playfully exasperated, and Nick crossed his arms over his chest, remaining silent.
Charlie's leg was bouncing under his desk, and he let out another sigh, squirming in his seat. "Iwantyoutotickleme."
"Again?"
He rolled his eyes. "I want you to... tickle me."
"And it finally comes out." Nick leaned back again in his chair, looking at his boyfriend smugly.
"Shut up."
"Oh? You want me to tickle you that badly? You miss me teasing you and playing with you? You miss me making you laugh so hard you can barely breathe? You miss me making you all flustered to the point you can't speak in complete sentences?"
"Shut up!" Charlie squealed, closing his eyes as nervous giggles began pouring out of his mouth. He could almost feel the sensation of Nick poking at him playfully, and it was driving him nuts.
"Oh Char, just you wait until I get back. Because I miss it too. I've nearly gone insane without hearing your adorable laughter. I miss seeing you squirm underneath me. So as soon as I get home, you better be ready. We'll have to make sure my mum isn't home. She'll think I'm murdering you."
"Nicholas, I will hang up on you." Charlie threatened, though by the tone of his voice, Nick knew he wasn't serious. However, he decided to egg him on once more. "Go ahead. That'll just seal your fate even more."
"Ugh, stop!" Charlie grabbed his phone, both boys laughing at this point. "You're impossible!"
"Okay, okay." Nick raised his hands, finally relenting. "You're just too cute to not tease you."
Charlie scoffed, moving to his bed and falling onto his back, his phone raised above him. "You're a menace, you know that?"
"Oh, I know." Nick winked, and Charlie felt his heart flutter in his chest. "Anyways, I have to get going. My family's going to be eating dinner soon. I'll talk to you tomorrow."
"Okay." Charlie felt slightly disappointed. He always hated hanging up with Nick at the end of a call.
Nick must've sensed his change of moods, and his expression softened. "Only a few more days, mon amour." He whispered, and Charlie nodded.
"Only a few more days."

You Deserve Better
It had been a couple weeks since Imogen had ended her relationship with Ben in Paris, and she still wasn't herself.
Before the day of the trip had even arrived, she'd spent hours at home trying to plan things to do with her boyfriend, whether it be with the others or the two of them having intimate time alone together. It was the city of love, dammit. And Ben was her first ever real boyfriend! She wanted to be the best girlfriend she could to her partner. But of course, her plans had been squashed pretty much immediately as soon as she arrived at the busses that day.
Ben had acted cold and distant from the start, hardly sparing her the time of day to even talk to her. He wouldn't show her any affection, unless anyone was paying attention to them, and even then Imogen could tell it wasn't genuine. She'd tried to kiss him a few times while they were at the Eiffel tower, but he'd succeeded in dodging her attempts every time.
Imogen was at a loss. Had she done something wrong? Why was he mad at her? She'd tried to talk to him alone about these few incidents on multiple occasions, but all in all gave up after he'd told her he was fine and that she was just being sensitive about it.
A few times, she'd thought back to when she'd told Nick she was officially with Ben for the first time. She remembered the flicker of emotion on his face, ranging from confused to worried in an instant, but she didn't think much of it at the time, thinking it was just his protective nature coming out like it did around his friends. And then she would think about later on when he'd tried to ask why she was with him at all, seemingly disappointed about her relationship.
She'd been so offended at first, refusing to listen to him try and explain himself, that she'd left him dry by himself out of anger. She'd truly thought Ben was a nice guy, and that he really did love her. But of course, she'd been wrong all along.
She'd be lying if she would say that her confrontation to him at dinner wasn't satisfying. She couldn't have cared less that a little over half her year was present, listening to her complaints and watching Ben's discomfort concerning his toxicity. Sure, his jab at her being a bitch hurt a bit, but she really did try not to let it get to her. All she knew was that she was done. She didn't want him around her anymore.
Even after all of that evening's events, and finally finding her now main group of friends through that trip, Imogen couldn't help but continue to dwell on the fact that her first relationship with a boy was a complete disaster. She hadn't jumped back to her usual, bubbly self like she normally would be, her thoughts drifting back to Ben constantly. It wasn't like she was still in love with him - of course she wasn't - it was the fact that she let someone make her feel so bad about herself, and she stuck around for it.
As quiet about her feelings as she tried to be, she was never good at hiding her emotions. And obviously, Nick had been noticing.
"Alright you," Nick sighed, grabbing Imogen's hand and pulling her away from their group, walking them around the side of the school where they could have a bit of privacy. "What's going on?"
Imogen's eyes were trained on the ground, and she fiddled with her sleeves sheepishly.
"You've been silent ever since we got back from Paris, which isn't like you." he continued, staring her down. "You're not still upset about..."
He trailed off, not wanting to mention said person, but Imogen shifted her weight, shrugging her shoulders. "It's not just about him," she whispered, her voice barely a whisper, "it's just..."
Nick waited patiently, watching as the girl took in a shuddering breath and finally met his eyes, tears threatening to spill. "Why is it that my first relationship had to fail? Why did I get stuck with the jerk who only cared about appearances rather than actual faithfulness to someone?" She kicked a rock by her foot, watching it tumble a few feet. "Am I just that easily manipulated? So much that people can walk over me whenever they want?"
"No," Nick spoke firmly, shaking his head. "It's not anything about you."
"But-"
"Ben's a dick. He likes to use people for his own needs, especially when it makes him look like a saint. I don't even think he has the ability to feel human emotion, which is probably why he's so horrible to people." He wrapped an arm over the girl's shoulder, squeezing her into his side as he spoke. "You deserve so much better than him."
Imogen looked up at him, still looking unsure.
"I just thought I'd found the guy," she admitted sadly. "You know... someone who could treat me like how you and Charlie treat each other. I want someone who could love me like that."
"And you'll find them," Nick assured her genuinely, "It may just take some time."
"How long?"
"Maybe a few months, even a few years. For most people, they don't find their partner right away. You may date a few people before you find the one. But that doesn't mean you're not a good girlfriend for someone. Anyone would be extremely lucky to have you."
Imogen sniffed, moving her gaze away from Nick once again. Nick watched her for a moment, raising an eyebrow at her. "You don't believe me, do you?"
She shrugged, saying nothing. "I don't not believe you, but..."
"Uh uh." Nick gently lifted her chin to look at him again, "No more self deprecation. You are beautiful, kind, funny, genuine, a top notch badass-"
"Nihick," Imogen tried to whine, though her lips turned up into a growing smile as she tried to wiggle away from him.
"See? There's that smile!" Nick chuckled, grinning victoriously. "It'll win over thousands!"
Imogen giggled, a light yet powerful sound, trying to playfully push Nick away from her, but he pulled her into a bearhug, keeping her trapped against him. He dug his fingers into her sides, causing her to let out a startled squeal, her attempts to escape becoming more frantic as high pitched giggles poured out of her. "Nick noho! Stohohop!"
"Not until you say it." He said, dropping both of them to the grass and hovering over her.
Imogen squeaked, trying and failing to grab onto the older boy's wrists, "Sahahahay whahahat?"
"Say..." he thought for a second, his movements pausing momentarily, and Imogen tried to catch her breath. "Say three good things about yourself and I'll let you go."
Imogen whimpered, kicking her legs once in protest. "Nick, do I really have t- wait! Wahahait, gihihive mehehe a chahance tohoho thihihihink!" She threw her head back, laughter overtaking her as she tried to fight off his hands which had moved to her ribs.
"You shouldn't have to think too hard about it!" Nick laughed, though he felt a slight pain in his heart. How badly had she been tearing herself down recently?
"IHIHI- IHIHI'M NIHIHICE TOHO PEHEOPLE!"
"Extremely!" Nick accented, moving one hand to her neck, and she shrieked. "There's one, now give me two more!"
"NOHOHO COME OHOHON!" She shook her head, letting out another squeal when his other hand moved under her arm. "STOHOP!"
"What else are you?" Nick prompted, letting up slightly, and Imogen squeezed her eyes shut. "You're..."
"Fihihine, I'm prehehetty!"
"Exactly, you're gorgeous. Just one more!"
He paused his hands again, pulling back to give her a breather, and Imogen gasped for air. She laid helplessly on the ground, still giggling, and looked up at Nick pleadingly. "I- I don't-"
"And I want to hear you say the last thing I told you specifically." Nick grinned at her, and she groaned. "I don't remember what that was!"
Nick could tell she was lying, her cheeks growing even more rosy, not just from laughing. He continued to stare down at her, putting on a mock serious tone.
"Imogen, don't make me go for your hips."
"NO!" She panicked, her eyes going wide.
But Nick's hands were already moving, and before she could do anything to stop him, he had a hold of her hips and had started to squeeze.
To say Imogen screamed was an understatement, and the loud, high pitched laughter was enough to make Nick wonder if they'd get into trouble for causing such a ruckus.
"STOPSTOPSTOHOHOP! PLEHEHEHEASE!" She shrieked, kicking her legs wildly, shoving at Nick's shoulders, but her strength was quickly leaving her, not that she'd had much to fight him off to begin with.
Nick couldn't help but laugh along with her, a sense of fondness overtaking him as she struggled beneath him. He hadn't seen her crack much of a smile since they'd returned to school, let alone laugh once, so this was just as good for him as it was for her. "Say it!"
"NOHOHO!"
"Imogen!"
"OKAY! OKAY! IHIHI'M A TOHOHOP NOHOTCH BADAHAHASS! NOW STOHOHOP!"
Nick pulled his hands away from her, watching as Imogen rolled out from underneath him a few feet away, her arms wrapping around herself as residual giggles fell from her lips. She was staring up at the sky above them, a huge grin on her face.
Nick snickered, smirking in amusement. "You okay?"
"No."
He rolled his eyes, standing and walking over to her, and she squeaked as she saw him approach her. "Calm down, I'm done tormenting you." He chuckled, offering a hand to help her stand and pulling her up from the ground.
Imogen was still breathing heavily as she smoothed out her now wrinkled skirt, a playful scowl on her face. "You're lucky I brought my extra uniform with me today, Nelson. How else would I explain the grass stains on my skirt?"
Nick only laughed, pulling her into a warm side hug, squeezing her shoulder gently. "You believe me now?"
Imogen groaned, though the smile was back on her face. "Yes, Nick, I believe you now."
"Good. Because you do deserve better than him."
Imogen fell quiet again, though this time, it was appreciative. She couldn't imagine what she'd be like without as good as a friend as Nick.

A/N: I'm baaaaack :) Sorry for the lack of posting for the past couple of months. I've been locked out of my account and have been busy with school and dance. Here's a little drabble for you all!
Prompt #29 - "I just want to help you relax."
Find the list of prompts here!
Sweet Afternoon Giggles and Relaxation
The sound of the school bell ringing at the end of the day was like a breath of fresh air for everyone at Truham. Charlie especially was ready to get out of the building as fast as he could. He and Nick had planned on heading to their special spot at the local park - under the big oak tree - as soon as the day had ended, Nick insisting that Charlie needed time off from stressing out about school. Of course, Charlie had denied being stressed in the first place, though he knew his argument was useless, especially since Nick had learned how to read him like a book. He couldn't hide how he felt from his boyfriend.
The two in question walked hand in hand down the path leading to the park, whispering and giggling along the way. Nick had an arm wrapped around Charlie's waist, refusing to let Charlie move even a foot away from him. Charlie had definitely noticed, and couldn't fight the blush from his face whenever Nick would squeeze him closer into his side. How had he gotten so lucky with someone so perfect?
"You look tense." Nick commented to the younger boy as they laid out their blanket on the shady patch of grass underneath the tree. He sat down, staring up at him. "Like, really tense."
Charlie rubbed the back of his neck, wincing. "Yeah. I... I haven't slept much recently. I've been busy."
"Busy getting ahead of everyone else on your school work?" Nick smirked, a knowing look in his eye.
Charlie chuckled a bit, sitting down next to him. "Yeah."
"Well..." Nick grabbed his elbow, tugging him gently so he would topple over into his lap, "Why don't you take a nap then?"
"Right here? Now?"
"Why not?"
"Well, what are you going to do?"
"I'm gonna help you get to sleep." Nick said, his hand running through Charlie's dark curls. "You need it, Charlie. I can tell you're exhausted."
Charlie hummed, his eyes closing at the calming sensation. "You don't mind?"
"I just want to help you relax."
Nick's hand moved down a bit, running down his back, and Charlie sighed. "Fine. But only for an hour. I've got to get back home for dinner."
"Of course."
And that was that; Charlie laid in his boyfriend's lap, the older boy massaging over his back and carding his fingers through his hair soothingly, for what seemed like forever.
That was, until Nick's hand moved a bit too close to his ribs, and Charlie let out a squeak in surprise, arching his back. He felt Nick's fingers still completely, almost uncertain to continue.
"Char?"
"I'm sorry, it's just- your hand, it-" Charlie felt his cheeks burning, even more than earlier. "Never mind. You can keep going."
"Okay..."
Nick started his movements again once Charlie had settled his head back down in his lap, and the silence resumed.
But Nick couldn't stop thinking about Charlie's reaction just then. What was that? He had originally been afraid he might of hurt him somehow, but Charlie didn't seem to be in any sort of pain at all. Especially since he thought Charlie would've let him know any sore spots to avoid in the first place.
Curiously, he slowly trailed his fingers back over to his ribs, and-
"Agh! Nihick!"
Oh. Oh.
"Charlie..." Nick's face broke into a bright grin, inwardly melting at the boy who was currently trying to hide his face in his arms. "Are you ticklish?"
"No!" The response was instinct, and Charlie knew he had answered way too quickly and way too loud to be believable. He knew Nick knew the answer already.
"You're not? So if I do this it wouldn't bother you?" Nick pinched at his ribs, and Charlie immediately shrieked, trying to roll off his lap, but Nick's other arm kept him in place. "Nick, stohohop!"
"Absolutely not. This is fucking adorable. And you need to relax, anyways."
"I thought you were gonna let me sleeheeheep!" Charlie whined in between giggles, squealing when Nick moved down to his hips and squeezed.
"Later I will. In case you haven't noticed, my plans have changed." Nick couldn't help but inwardly swoon over how cute Charlie looked at that moment, trying to shove at his chest and squirm away as bubbly laughter poured out of his mouth all the while. It was absolutely heartwarming, and as long as he could keep him happy and laughing, he wasn't sure if he'd ever stop.
But when he did eventually let up on his attack, Charlie couldn't stop the residual giggles from escaping him as he and Nick laid back on the blanket together, Nick's arms still wrapped around him tightly.
"You're evil," Charlie told him, his head resting on his chest, and he felt Nick chuckle underneath him. "I know. Don't think I'm not going to do that again, though."
Charlie only responded with a flustered whimper, and Nick grinned, his fingers finding their way back to his curls.
It didn't take long for Charlie to doze off, and Nick laid with him contentedly, caressing his hair, watching the clouds go by above them as he wondered how on earth he got so lucky with a boy like him.

Prompt #48 - “Stop cheating!”
Prompt from here if you’re interested!
I’ve updated what prompt list I’ll be using! Check it out here!
Cheater, Cheater
“Agh! Charlie, quit it!”
Charlie giggled, withdrawing his hand from Nick’s side. The two boys were currently in the Spring family’s living room, having been sprawled out on the floor with their text books in front of them. This was their near-daily routine; coming back to one of their houses and trying to knock out some of their homework from their day at school, and then spending the rest of their time together watching movies, playing games, and most importantly, making out. Though most times, that plan didn’t go the way it was intended. Nick was easily distracted, and very quickly lost interest in whatever worksheet he was doing. So in order to entertain himself, he’d try to distract Charlie, whether it be laying across his boyfriend’s lap, or whining, or throwing his pens at his head.
Charlie had to bite back a grin when he heard Nick let out a groan, slamming his maths textbook closed. “Charlieeee,” he’d whimpered, pushing his book to the side, “I’m bored.”
“That’s a shocker,” Charlie had replied, chuckling and keeping his eyes trained on his own assignment.
“Come on,” Nick moaned, “let’s take a break. We’ve been working on maths for like an hour now. You especially don’t need to study maths longer than that.”
“Nick, I have a test at the end of the week.” Charlie reminded him, finally glancing up at the older boy.
“And you’re going to ace it! You always have the highest grade out of anyone, and you don’t even need to try!” Nick retorted, moving closer to his boyfriend. When Charlie ignored him, he pouted and rested his head on his shoulder.
“Please, Char? Just for a little bit?”
Charlie contemplated this for a moment, before finally letting out a long yet playful sigh. “Fine. What do you want to do?”
Nick raised his head, smiling brightly. “We should play a game.”
“What game? Mario Kart? Haven’t you learned by now that there’s no way you’ll ever beat me at that?” The younger boy teased, laughing at the incredulous expression on his boyfriend’s face.
“Excuse you, but I happen to remember winning three races last weekend when I was over!”
“Only because I let you win.”
The ginger’s eyes narrowed. “You’re so gonna pay for that later. And anyways, no, not that. I had another game in mind.”
Charlie tilted his head at him, confusion washing over his features. “What game?”
Nick smirked. “Only a game I can finally be the best at. Twister.”
“Twister?” Charlie repeated, raising his eyebrows in surprise. “Why do you wanna play that?”
“Why don’t you want to play?” Nick questioned playfully, “Afraid of losing?”
“No,” Charlie responded, “I’m great at it. You’ve just never brought it up before.”
Charlie was lying. He wasn’t good at Twister. Not only did he lack flexibility, but he had always been the first one to fall during the game when he’d played with his sister or his friends during their annual sleepovers. It wasn’t like he cared that much about the game itself; Charlie was competitive. He didn’t like to lose. That’s why his go-to game had always been Mario Kart. After years of mastering every course, hardly anyone could beat him, except occasionally Tori. But even then, the two siblings were always neck and neck.
“Okay.” Charlie nodded, setting his assignment and books aside. “Let’s play.”
And that’s were the pair were now, having pushed the coffee table to the side of the room in order to have the desired amount of space for the dotted mat. They’d spun a few times already, their positions starting out pretty easy to achieve, until Charlie suddenly had an arm underneath Nick’s body and Nick had under the younger boy’s. By each turn, they were intertwining themselves with each other even more, and Charlie’s balance was getting rather rocky. Nick, however, seemed to be completely stable, hardly ever having to readjust his footing or the placement of his hands to make things easier for himself.
With every spin of the plastic wheel, Charlie seemed to be getting more difficult adjustments to his position, while Nick barely had to move. It just wasn’t fair. Charlie knew his boyfriend was going to win.
“Doing alright, love?” Nick asked periodically, a teasing hint to his tone. “Not feeling too shaky?”
“Perfectly fine,” Charlie answered him through his teeth, choosing to ignore the chuckle that came from the boy above him.
After a few more minutes, Charlie decided he needed to do something to try and get an advantage over his smug boyfriend. And that’s when he reached up with one hand and jabbed him in the stomach.
Nick had flinched, drawing in a small breath, but remaining in the same position as before.
“Charlie,” He said, his voice low, “don’t.”
Charlie snickered, dropping his hand.
After another moment, he reached up again, now squeezing his hip.
Nick yelped, nearly losing his balance, but quickly regaining his composure. “Shit!”
Charlie grinned up at him innocently, trying not to laugh at the glare Nick sent him in return. This was working well for him.
“Charlie, I am warning you,” Nick tried again to be serious, his eyes locked on the boys hands. “Stop cheating!”
“Okay.” Charlie shrugged and reached for the spinner, feeling Nick’s eyes watching his every move.
Nick let out a breath, urging his muscles to relax as much as possible. Hopefully Charlie finally got the message.
He was wrong.
About three minutes later, Charlie was prodding at his side, causing the older boy to let out a shriek in surprise. And to Charlie’s delight, this caused Nick to topple over onto his back.
“Ha!” Charlie pumped his fists into the air victoriously, “I win!”
Nick stared up at his boyfriend, his eyes going wide. “You did not win.”
“Uh, yeah I did,” Charlie said smugly, “The rules are the first person who falls loses. You fell first, loser.”
Nick sat up quickly. “You were cheating!”
“Really? Was I?”
“Yes you were, you were tickling me!”
“Oh boo-hoo,” Charlie playfully rolled his eyes. “You’re just mad cuz you’re a sore loser.”
Nick didn’t answer, his eyes narrowing. Charlie’s smug attitude faltered, his smile fading, and immediately he began to feel as though his boyfriend was angry at him. “Nick, are you okay? I’m sorry, I was just joking… you’re not mad, are you?”
“Mad? No.” Something changed in Nick’s expression, his eyes glinting dangerously. “Vengeful? Very.”
Charlie didn’t even have time to respond, because Nick was launching himself at the boy with inhuman speed, tackling him and sending them rolling on the ground together. Charlie’s immediate instinct was to try and curl in on himself, knowing very well what was about to happen, but Nick was stronger, and easily pinned Charlie underneath him.
“Nick, wait a second,” Charlie tried to plead, attempting to squirm around underneath the rugby lad, but Nick’s hold on him was solid. Completely unmovable.
“Wait a second? Oh no. We’re not even going to think about waiting. I’m gonna tickle the absolute shit out of you, and I’m not gonna stop until I feel like it. I think that’s a proper punishment for someone who thinks cheating is the way to beat another person at a game, right?” Nick’s grin was pure evil as he watched Charlie blush bright red underneath him. “Not that you’d mind.”
“Niiiiick,” Charlie whined, bringing his hands up to cover his blazing cheeks, squealing suddenly at the sensation of Nick squeezing his sides.
“Ah ah! And you can’t hide your face from me, either! I wanna see your adorable smile.” Nick let his fingers slowly spider up and down the boy’s sides, relishing in the frantic giggles escaping his lips. God, he loved that sound.
“Nohoho! Thahat’s nohohot fahahair!” Charlie squeaked out, his giggles growing the higher Nick aimed. “Ihihi cahan’t help ihit!”
Nick chuckled. “Okay. Let me help you then.”
With that, he shot hands up under Charlie’s exposed armpits, drilling torturously into the hallows.
“NO NICK!” Charlie’s arms came flying down and clamped tightly to his sides, his head thrown back with hysteric laughter. “STOHOHOHOP!”
“Stop? Char, I’m only just getting started!” Nick laughed with the younger boy, his heart filled with endearment. “Besides, you deserve this, you dick!”
“I JUHUHUST WAHAHANTED TO WIHIN!”
“Well, cheaters don’t make winners, sweetheart.”
“I CAHAHAN SEHEHEHEE THAHAHAT!”
Nick rolled his eyes playfully. “How about this, Charlie? Just shut up and laugh.”
He pulled his hands out from under the boy’s arms, giving him only a few moments of relief before diving his fingers into his sensitive neck.
“NoO!” Charlie squealed, trying to duck his head, but Nick just laughed. “Charlie, my fingers are stuck now.”
“I dohohon’t cahahahare!” The younger giggled, yelping when he felt Nick beginning to press ticklish kisses along his ears. “Nihihick plehehease!”
“Man, your ears are sensitive as hell, Char.” Nick commented casually, “They seem so neglected. Why don’t you ever let me play with them and love them?”
“Stohohop ihihit!” Charlie whined, trying to move his head away from him, shrieking at the sensation of Nick nibbling on the shell of his ears. “OHOHOH MYHYHYHY GOHOHOD! NOHOHOT THAHAHAT!”
Mixed with the fluttering fingers in his neck and Nick’s merciless attack on his ears, Charlie was in hell (or heaven, though he’d never admit it). The two sensations combined were driving him nuts, and he was sure that Nick knew that. Of course he was.
Charlie’s head jerked to the side, lifting his chin just enough for Nick to remove his hands and let them jump to his ribs, his lips quickly beginning to press kisses along the entirety of Charlie’s neck.
“NOHOHO NIHIHICK! LEHEHEAVE MYHYHY NEHEHECK ALOHOHONE!”
“I don’t think you’re in a position to make demands here,” Nick muttered into the skin, making his laughter rise in pitch.
Charlie was quickly running out of oxygen by the second, and he wasn’t sure if Nick would actually give him a chance to breathe. Normally he was more gentle with him, but as he had said, he was out for revenge. Still, if Charlie wanted to see the sun rise the next morning, he needed to do something.
“NIHIHICK IHI CAHAN’T BREHEHEATHE! PLEHEHEASE!”
Nick drew his head back, his fingers slowing to a stop on the poor boy’s ribs. He looked guilty. “Oh god, okay. Here, just take a minute.”
Charlie was sucking in air like his life depended on it. Nick’s smirk vanished, “Sorry, was I taking it too far? I didn’t mean to-“
“Nick,” His boyfriend interrupted, breathing heavily, “it’s okay. I’m fine.”
“Are you sure?” Nick didn’t sound convinced, taking in Charlie’s current state with concern.
“I’m sure,” Charlie told him, then slightly propped himself up on his elbows, “You’re just way too good at getting what you want.”
That finally got a small chuckle out of the older boy, who leaned down and pressed his lips to his in a sweet kiss.
“You are so incredible,” Nick whispered, pressing his forehead to Charlie’s. Charlie hummed, his body finally beginning to calm down. They stayed like that for a moment, before Nick suddenly pushed him back down onto his back. “But there’s one more spot I want to get to before I let you go.”
Charlie’s eyes were nearly popping out of their sockets in realization. “No, Nihihick I thohohought youhou wehehere dohohone!”
Nick just smiled innocently at the boy as he let his fingers walk all the way down to his kneecaps, “I love you.”
And let it be known, Charlie definitely learned a valuable lesson on cheating that day, especially when getting caught by an evil, rugby loving golden retriever.
