Late writing for flash fiction friday prompt
Tumblr media
* * * * *
Muddy landscapes stretched out in all directions, rusty metal buildings jut out from the ground. A world in decay after a war or a great catastrophe. Our scientist were still puzzling it together.
An abandoned warehouse with ancient machines and large holes in the roof. The sun still holds power, it charged the batteries of my backpacks. .
Dark clouds rapidly approach over the sky and rain starts to fall with large gray drops. I retrieved my backpack, reached my hand out in the rain. It was a lightshow from the shielding getting drained by the acid rain. I stepped out in the open, the rain fell over my helmet, energy shield crackles once again. After a few minutes I could see actual raindrops form over the round headpiece.
 I thought to myself;
“The holovids from earth-that-was got people dancing, jumping and blessing the rain. A really big storm of drinkable water flooding. I wish I could experience proper rain.”
A fast beep alarm went off and I was back to my reality.  Taking a step back into the shadows, an energy shield crackles around me as it returns to full strength. The metal of the suit smokes lightly.
The puddles around me had a red shimmer from the oxidizing metals.
After some time the rain stopped and I was on the road again. Walked another hour. Found a field of flowers. Glistening in the afternoon sun.
Getting closer to it, the field was not normal flowers but crystals, yet they swayed in the wind. Thin petals of glass structure with a stem and thicker glass on top. Tried to pick one but it broke in my hand, turned into dust.
Got on my hands and knees, looking inside was a lightshow, lines fracturing into a mesmerizing world. Purple, pink and yellow all dancing in the little petal of crystal glass.
Leaning back on my knees, I picked out containers and gel to not break it. The scientist back in the dome is gonna love this. Packed some of the petals and some soil samples.
Back in the dome the sanitizing cycle completed and I headed for the armory. Sooner I got the plating repaired i could go back out there. Armory was in full action, all five of the printers were working. Behind the desk the clerk Kent was moving and organizing the next item to go into the machines. Short and stout with a similar mood. The clerk was narrowing his eyes as I approached the desk.
“My suits needs repairs, got caught in the rain”
I started to loose the security buckle for the suits extra plating.
“Are you serious, again? I have other things to repair than your damn plating.”
The clerk crossed his arms and looked wide eyed at me.
“You know im on the science team right?”
I dropped the plating on the desk in front of me.
“I don't care about your galavanting. You are still a civilian. I have actual important tools waiting.”
I didnt answer, I just turned around and started to walk away.
* * * * * *
(Wanted to write more but ran out of energy. Base idea was that something happening in the dome making the protagonist having to run outside without his extra plating. And perils of being outside in acid rain)

another prompt for the fridays, this time the prompt is : HORIZON LINE
Tumblr media
The sun burned in the sky, bigger than ever before. Its fiery tendrils licked the ground below as if getting close to merge with its muddy counterpart.
A blade swung out from the black, thin and sharp as the horizon ahead.
It dug into skin, parting flesh and spilling blood. The blood pooled on the naked sword, steaming in the hot air like molten gold.
A fist striking a nose, the bladed attacker stumbled to the ground.
More blades came out, they advanced on the lone one.
Punches, cuts and stabs. Across the dust ridden ground droplets of blood and heavy clotted crimson weighted heavy on the grass straws.
The burning entity above loomed over the fighting humanoids. Thin long tendrils stretched across the valley floor, tufts of grass were destroyed and the dust mix of blood turned to glass. Tendrils creped along the horizon, gripping it in several places.
The last blade fell to the ground
A bloodied arm with an iron knuckle duster in his fist, was shoocked at the old god above him.
Their clash could be heard around the worlds.

Tumblr media
Warning, blood and gore
****
A samurai stands in a clearing in the woods, faced a half circle of five mongol warriors. The wind howled around them, above the pines bowed back and forth. Dark stormy clouds were moving in.
The setting of the sun on the horizon through the trees cast the clearing in a haze. The samurai was clad in layered scaled metal, dark as a storming ocean. His helmet was dark as the night, while two golden deer horns sprouted from the side of his helmet. One long katana and one tanto rested on his belt.
The samurai gripped the handle of the katana, the first warrior rushed in, his grip tightened a half second more. The warrior's sword was above his head swinging it down with massive force towards the still samurai. A deep breath out and the warrior was felled with a deep gash across his torso.
With a straight arm the samurai brought the sword down across the neck of the next warrior who was dead on the spot.
As the sun went down below the horizon it flashed a last sunray over the katana, it reflected bright light over the three warriors. They flinched for a mere moment and the samurai's katana moved in a blue flash. Carving armor, flesh and bone apart through the three warriors, it left them dismembered across the forest floor.
The samurai took a deep breath, his armor was covered in dark crimson as well as his sword and hand. Shouts and torches came through the forest of more mongols.
A large dark water torrent came from the skies, bigger than any castle. It crashed into the forest floor breaking apart the forest into splinters. Swept away the bodies, leaves and the blood. The samurai stood untouched in the mealstrom, the blood on his katana did not wash away.
The water raised around him up to his chest, the floor beneath him disappeared as he was left floating. The armor dissolved into black tea leaves.
The cup in front of Jin swirled with black tea.
Outside a storm raged, rain smattered on the house. Flashes of lighting in the sky but the thunder was far away.

Out there
@flashfictionfridayofficial prompt "Out there"
Made another one, which im pretty happy witH.
383 WORDS
Mention of blood and fighting
----------------------------
Commander Aalima log.
We explored a new region of space in search of planets to expand. The planet of interest had a golden opportunity but with a bit too high gravity, it wasn't anything to stop us, the pressure suits made it easy to move around.
We found another species on the planet. Wore no suits only colorful clothing with most of their hair on the top of their head.
We were observing a group of three, one of them stared intent in our hiding direction.
We had allowance to use force if needed, I decided to stand up and try diplomacy with these new creatures.
I approached slowly until we stood eye to eye, as best we could. They were shorter
The main one reached out an arm, I copied it. Then it squeezed my hand, the suits armour snapped and my bones cracked. I screamed as I fell to the ground.
My lieutenant on my right fired two rounds into the alien, it staggered back and fell into the grass. Its friends fled into the woods.
The alien in the grass breathed heavily, clutching its abdomen where a torrent of red liquid spew.
It stared at me with eyes made of fire. It was alive and very upset.
We managed to heal my hand and its bones back to shape.
The creature took over 2 hours to bleed out.
What followed was two days of hell.
They are inteligent as they operate a number of tool and technologies as well as guns and swords.
We suspect this is a military outpost as they are fighting tooth and scale for defending their home.
When we noticed more unknown ships in the system, I  decided to head back to the ship and leave the system. We returned home and with quick action labeled the planet along with the system as occupied by heavily armed forces and military trained personnel.
—-----------
Björn of the vanguard military ship HMS Titan left hyperspace into system B112.
“What's the status of the colony?
“The surviving civilians at the colony report a loss of 1 people. Five people are getting intensive care.”’
“Alright, lets move in and help those poor sods. Have the other teams set up a system wide perimeter if ET would come back.
“Aye aye captain.”

Full speed ahead
written for flashfictionfriday prompt of last week. RUSHING TRAIN
thanks to @minervas-hand for the encourgment to make me finish this.
once again in the vein of humans are space orcs
----------------------------------
Above planet Merthal, around its third moon the wreckage of a fleet laid. Three combined fleets had stood against the sentient machines. Only a single half destroyed ship remaind.
Captain Verkai looked out through the view screens showing the surrounding of debris and several wreckage from the other vessels, less fortunate as he had been.
They could see the rear end of the robots fleet advancing forward towards Merthal. Backup would arrive in two hours. Plenty of time for the robots to burn and destroy his home planet.
The radio crackled to life, the navigator let the message through:
“This is human Adam of the ship Nightfall, we have your position. Dropping out of hyperlink now.”
The navigator warned for a large incoming ship, three times their own size existing from hyperspace.
The computer tagged it as unknown dreadnought class. It was impressive at over 1km long, smooth Hull yet angular and hard corners. A flat nose with a wider midsection and ending in a triangular like wings. With six large thrusters centered at the back.
Verkai had heard of humanity, they were the latest to join the galactic community, last month to be exact.
The first contact reports said humans were bipedal and stocky, with similar ships that were simple and old, they had been seen in the first video coming out of the first contact. Their army was near decemation after a long war, they had been tight lipped of more information. Hard headed like the Sethana but hard on protocol like his own species.
They hailed us,
“This is Adam again, scooping you now and advancing forward.”
“I thank you for your assistance but im afraid you will be outgunned. we better leave and regroup”
“We have plans to get troops on the ground asap.
“But it will be impossible to get close. The enemy will create a blockade around the planet. And then nothing gets in or out… Its already lost”
“Let us worry about that. Hang on”
Three of the thrusters of the human ship flared to life. The massive ship started to move, soon all six of the thrusters were on fire. The robots larger ships were visible in the distance, the enemy were quickly linking their ships to create a barricade.
Connecting to the enemy hull it held for a mere second, it crumpled inward giving way for more of the ship to penetrate through. Its wide end made the enemies larger ships bulge and break apart along the seam. The explosion left a hole in the enemies blockade and left the planet below exposed. The humans ship were a mere blur for outside onlookers. Inside six droppods were launched, rushing from the main ship through the newly made debris field and down onto the planet. The blurry ship rushed along and away from the planet.

You never cared
Wrote for @flashfictionfridayofficial latest post. Prompt: You never cared
Have not written anyhing for ages, finally able to add something to my own story. 370 words
The sun licked your exposed skin, droplets of salt water formed and clinged to your hair. it was forming from everywhere on your body, it pooled on your back and formed wet black spots on your tunica shirt. Your long legs stepped with heavy footfalls into the soft ground, seemingly unbothered with the fire around us.
My own legs couldn't handle walking anymore. I fell to the ground, panted heavy with my snout half open. Your figure casted a long shadow, it was a small respite from the warmth.
“I carry you” Rebecca said
"I'm too heavy” I sad back
“Dont care” she said back.
With two strong arms she heaved me up and over her back. I failed to understand her unknown words but she used body language to guide my hands where to hold, my arms found hold around her neck. Her arms held onto my thighs.
My own soft tunica clinged to her wet back first then it hit my fur over my body and neck. Rebecca's back was soaked and cold.
The rhythmic pace of her footfalls and the coldness of her body sweat rocked me into the blackness of sleep.
Several hours later I awoke to Rebecca sitting next to me watching over me. Cool, fresh air flowed from the ships vent. We had made it back, or rather she had done it.
She held out out a cup of water. I greedily swallowed it all in one swing. But I noticed  to my horror her whole arm up to her elbow was red as the sand outside. Further up her neck and face was almost more red.
“Dont panic” Rebecca started.
“I tell you as i tell doctor. This is normal from home, I dont care about it. Will peel and heal” Rebecca told me slowly.
“I'm glad you're safe, I will tell the others.” With that she stood up and moved out of the room.
I was stunned. Rebecca was an alien, a human, a female like herself. That much she had been told. Where in the world would a species originate where it would consider such scorching heat, normal. It was a scary thought what Rebeccas normal life back home was like.

Name change!! And I am so happy with it. You already know my BP as Monty, but I've decided to name her after one of my most loved goddesses, Tiamat. This is going to be a bit long winded because I'm obsessed with ancient goddesses (and goddesses in general) and I love to share their ancient history because not many people in this modern world know too much about goddesses and gods.
In Babylonian mythology, Tiamat is a primordial mesopotamian goddess of the ocean and personification of chaos. evidence of Tiamat is the oldest known. It dates back to 2000 B.C.E. from Sumer and Babylon. At the beginning of Tiamat’s story, she personifies young and fertile motherhood, giving birth to a multitude of deity offspring. During this stage, Tiamat is described as calm and loving, she gave birth to the first generation of gods, but when her offspring turn murderous, killing her husband Apsu, Tiamat enters her second phase — her anger transforms her into a vengeful monster with five independent heads. Ultimately, this stage is Tiamat’s undoing, as her need for revenge and her formidable power leads her into battle with the storm god, Marduk, who split her body in half, the top portion of her body becoming the sky and the bottom became the earth and her tears created the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. She is considered the Mother of All and all Babylonian gods are her descendants. As described by the New World Encyclopedia:
“The entirety of the material creation was thus generated, with half of her body as the sky, the other half as the Earth, her ribs (or thigh bones) as the vault of Heaven and Earth, her monstrous udder as the mountains, her weeping eyes as the source of the Tigris and the Euphrates and her poisonous spittle as the earthly moisture (clouds, winds, rain, and fog).”
Tiamat’s multiple personalities represents the many stages of in a woman’s life, as well as prescribed gender roles relating to power and sexuality. Society negatively stereotypes older women, ultimately punishing them for their independence and ambition. Tiamat’s violent end is identified with the often complicated role powerful women face, both in ancient and modern times. Tiamat has the appearance of a dragon or a serpent. Sometimes, she is multi-headed, due to the modern influences from the Dungeons & Dragons, though there is no image dating to Mesopotamian times which has been identified as depicting this goddess. She is the elemental powerful force of chaos, the Mother of Everything, the self-procreating womb, the source of all life and all manifestation. Tiamat’s themes are history, change, spirituality, fertility, birth and creativity. Her symbols are reptiles and seawater.
I've always wanted to name my own snake after Tiamat and I should have just changed her name years ago after my brother gave her to me ✨
