Jurassic Park Movie Props!

Deb and I love movie props. One of our favorite movies is Jurassic Park. Who didn't love Dinosaurs growing up? Deb even has an incredible looking Jurassic Park tattoo.

We have 3 movie props to show you.

1. The Barbasol Cryo-Can. This thing is just amazing to see in person. Made from a real Barbasol Can

Nerd Man Cave part 1 - The Gaming Table.

Tabletop Games is a big part of my life. I've been playing board games with my parents since I was a kid. To this day my love for these games has grown even more. One of my highlights of the week is a weekly Guys Night where we mostly play Tabletop games. When Deb and I started talking about building our house, and the subject of a Man Cave came up, I knew we had to have an exciting place for the guys to hang out and us to play our games.

To start, we needed a great gaming table. We ended up getting a table from boardgametables.com. They were doing a Kickstarter at the time for a great affordable starter table which we went with. The playing surface is 3x5 feet, which is perfect for 6 people.

Between all of my collectibles and games, we needed to great creative. The designers approached us with the idea of this custom buildout. Build in bench for 1 side of the game table with storage inside of the bench, plus tons of shelf space for the games and collectibles. As you can see it came out amazing!

Han in Carbonite

In our house, we have 2 sets of stairs. The back stairs lead to Nick's Man Cave. As you go up those stairs, this is what you see. Full Replica of Han in Carbonite, guarded by Boba Fett. This is a major statement piece created by my friend Austin and Scott from Mars Props. When building our house, we had a custom shelf designed to hold it.

Welcome

Welcome to the very first post of our new blog. Over the next few weeks, we will start to show you different parts of our house and all of the nerdiness inside of it. We will be focusing on 2 main parts of the house. Nick's Mancave which he calls "The AckBar" and Deb's Harry Potter themed study. We are always adding to & replacing items to these rooms so we will update you along the way.
