This is the most adorable prompt ever!! ❤️ I hope you like it!

“The plush sat at an innocuous little market stall, its fabricated features staring blankly at the passersby. Its appearance was familiar to Groot. The masked face of the toy bore a remarkable resemblance to his young charge, Rocket, and he considered the possibility that the little boy might enjoy something like that. Groot knew what it was like, to be the only one of your kind, it was a hollow, lonely feeling. It was his hope that under his guardianship that Rocket would never feel this way, and well, the plush may be of help there. 

Picking it up, he noted that it was very soft, and only slightly smaller than Rocket himself was now. Groot didn’t have much memory of his own childhood, long ago as it was, but he didn’t recall owning anything of this sort. However it didn’t go unnoticed to him how many children of other species were often carrying dolls as they trailed along behind their parents. Resolute in his decision, Groot purchased the plush and returned to the ship he now called home. 

“I am Groot!” he called out upon entering, the announcement immediately followed by the scampering of little feet. Rocket came scurrying around the corner, excitement bursting onto his face at the sight of his adoptive father. Groot gently lifted him onto the table, his other hand hidden behind his back. 

“I am Groot?” he asked him, and Rocket nodded eagerly, trying to sneak a peek at the hidden gift. 

Not wanting to keep him in suspense, Groot revealed the toy to Rocket, who’s tiny eyes widened with awe before he giggled with delight and jumped onto the plush, squeezing it in a loving hug.”
