Listen, guys, Battinson x Corensupes is yapper x listener but not in the way people usually assume. Yes, Bruce is withdrawn and quiet, but look at his notebooks! Those are crammed full of shit he has to say, and finally having someone he can voice that to out loud? He will ramble Clark’s ears off and Clark would love it and feel flattered and be so in love.

Yes, Clark talks more in his movie and is more confident, but he’s also polite and values others’ thoughts. Also, he only pitches his opinion in when it’s important to him. Bruce’s rambling makes wonderful white noise for his writing.

I keep thinking about Bruce and Clark building a family together.

It's completely accidental to begin with. When they meet, Bruce already has eight year old Dick in his care. And Dick likes Clark, he wants to see him again as a friend (Krypto is an added bonus), but he can only do that with Bruce's permission. How can Bruce say no?

And it's just so easy after that. That terrifies Bruce at first, and he's tempted to run, to run far away because he's already beginning to open his heart to Dick, but Clark is almost too much. Clark is so good, he's kind and patient. He is everything Bruce ever wanted but never believed that he deserved.

They're not all the way in yet when Clark shows up at the manor, soaking wet and sobbing. After Bruce gets hot tea (with a big shot of whiskey) in him, Clark calms down enough to tell him about how the Daily Planet found out about Project Caedus and somehow there was a success on acquiring his DNA and there's a boy. A beautiful little boy, nearly six months old, who's living in a medical lab right now after the police had raided Project Caedus.

Clark wants that boy. He wants him home, he wants his son.

Bruce grabs his hand, giving it a squeeze. "Then we'll get him."

The following court battle is brutal. Clark ends up portraying Superman for far longer than he wishes, but it's the only way he can have any control. Bruce hires Jean Loring, who rips apart the whole court on how that boy belongs with his father. With Superman.

Eventually, the judge rules in Superman's favor and he chooses a name for the boy - Kon-El.

Clark chooses a name - Conner.

Dick is out of his mind to have a little brother. Conner comes home the following day to his new family and friends made up of Lois, Jim Gordon, Barbara, and even a visiting Selina. Within moments, Conner has a whole squad of people who would lay down their lives for him - including his parents. Clark...and Bruce. Martha and Jonathan cannot stop carrying this sweet little boy around in their arms and they spoil Dick rotten with presents. Krypto cannot stop putting his head on Conner's tummy as he sleeps in someone's arms, imprinting that sweet baby smell to memory. That first night, after getting an exhausted Dick corraled into his bed, Bruce walks back to the nursery and finds Clark holding a sleeping Conner in his arms as he stands at the window, watching the city lights and a gentle rain pattering down. Krypto is curled up on the floor beside the crib. "I never thought I'd have this," Clark murmurs as he rocks Conner.

Neither did Bruce. He never could even allow himself to entertain the thought. But then suddenly, Dick was in his life and he very quickly couldn't imagine his life without that boy. And now Clark was here, Conner was here. And it almost felt...complete.

Clark then gently shifts Conner into Bruce's arms and walks over to the bedside table, pulling out a thick folder from the drawer. "Jean sent this over this morning." When Bruce looks at it, he sees that it's a birth certificate with Conner's name on it. Clark's name is already filled in. "You don't have too, of course -"

Bruce almost laughs. "Before we look at that, I need you to go into my office and get the folder off of the desk." When Clark comes back, his jaw is hanging to his knees. "My name is already on here?" Bruce gently eases Conner into his crib. "All it needs is your signature and then you are legally Dick's other father." He then takes the other birth certificate and adds his name and signature.

There. It was done.

Dick and Conner were their sons.

"We should probably get married."

Clark bursts into gentle laughter. "You were always the romantic, Bruce Wayne."

Bruce curls his arms around Clark's waist, Clark rests his on his shoulders. "You love it."

Yeah, he does.

To keep it private, the same judge who had overseen the custody battle comes to Wayne Manor to officiate the ceremony. Martha holds a cooing Conner in her arms, Alfred keeps a firm hand on Dick's shoulder. Lois cries louder than the mother of the groom and Selina offers her a hankie to noisily blow her nose into. At the stroke of noon, the judge pronounces Clark and Bruce married and Conner begins to happily screech, leaning so far out of Martha's embrace to reach for his fathers he nearly tumbles to the floor.

After everyone wanders off into their own corners to enjoy the reception, Dick turns to his fathers. "Is it over? Are we a family now?"

Clark blinks. "We always were, Dick." As Bruce carries Conner off to feed him, Clark gently gathers Dick up and takes him outside to the balcony. "Talk to me, son."

Dick shuffles uncomfortably, large blue eyes wide. "I feel like...I feel like this is going to be taken from me."

Clark kneels down and pulls Dick into his arms. Dick melts into his embrace. "I cannot promise you that something like that won't happen. Even with who I am and who your dad is. But I can promise you that we will do whatever we can to remain here, remain your parents and watch you and Conner grow up, sweetheart."

Dick sighs into his neck as Clark rubs his back. "I'm just...scared. It's too good to be true after...everything."

Clark doesn't want Dick to ever forget about John and Mary, but he also doesn't want Dick to be plagued by those fears of something happening to him and Bruce like it had to the Graysons. "What we can do is simply hold onto the time that is given us. And right now, it's given us a lot."

Dick doesn't answer, only tightens his arms around Clark's neck. The door to the balcony opens and Bruce has Conner in his arms. "Everything okay?" Dick beams at his baby brother, reaching up to gently tweak his foot.

Clark gets to his feet. "Yeah, everything's okay."

Bruce looks at Dick. "Hey, Dick, why don't you take Conner inside?" Dick lights up and gently accepts the armful of baby brother. "Take it slow. You got him?"

"Yeah, I got him."

Once Dick and Conner are gone, Bruce closes the door behind him. "He's more like you than I thought," Clark nodded towards the door. Clark then tells him everything Dick had just told him, understanding and a flicker of sadness shuttering Bruce's face. He can relate 100 percent to what Dick has said and that's what brought them together in the first place.

"We'll do it right." They can't say that they will do it better because Clark has wonderful parents and Bruce had good parents until they died on him. But they will do it right. There's no guarentee about the future, but there is a guarantee about the present and that is what matters.

"Shall we return to our wedding reception?"

"Before Lois eats all the cake."

"I heard that!"

And back inside they go, arm in arm, to the rest of their lives.

This Clark will adopt Connor the second he sees him. He’ll look at that poor traumatized kid and immediately bring him home and help Ma bake him a pie.

Things I’m obsessed with after coming out of the Superman 2025 film:

- our introduction to this superman being him getting dragged across the tundra on his face by his dog

- green lantern’s use of the ‘big blue’ nickname

- Perry white and the daily planet core group not gaf about the mandatory evacuation and going over their newest story nonchalantly as people flee around them

- the rasp in David’s voice when he yelled the “People Were Going To DIE—“ line

- Lex Luther being pushed to TEARS at the end due to the intensity of his hatred for Superman

- the scene where Superman rising out of the dust and debris to make sure the lady got away okay (the visuals combined with the musical score gave me actual goosebumps)

- the clone reveal (I.e. the subtle nod to a Connor Kent storyline in the future hopefully and how this superman is going to deal with it)

- Lois’s apartment, just in general - also the fact that we got to see her apartment and not Clark’s

- just, everything time mr. Terrific was on screen to be honest but ESPECIALLY his ‘I’m goddamn Mr. Terrific” line

- the scene with the three kids holding up the flag, goosebumps again instantly

- the choice to make pa Kent and Clark’s relationship be the emotionally charged dynamic (we love to see male vulnerability not used as the butt of a joke)

- the score during the moment of eye contact between Lois and Metamorpho after they escape the pocket universe

- jimmy’s rizz factor being the technical reason they won the battle in the end
