So after the description of your various stories on your community post, how much would you say Whispers to Ashes and Amity have changed from your first videos on them?

HEAVILY! It’s partially why I’ve been gone so long, those videos are practically completely out of date story wise and even their world building is kinda out of date, even since that community post I made some major changes to help my work load

So, out of curiosity, can we know more about the new ocs you added to Amity and what you originally had planned for them before you added them to Amity. We already know what you had planned for Moorgan, Kiana, Rue, and Sydney, but what about the other four? I think I remember you say three of those characters were like fandom ocs, but I'm not familiar with them.

So what I was initially planning to do was try to force them all into one world and have their stories play out simultaneously. But I ran into a lot of big issues with going that route, because trying to combine all their preexisting world building and stories was almost impossible, so what I did instead was make a part of the magic system where the universe is essentially split into 3 paralleling dimensions:

one with the story Whispers to Ashes, which is where Moorgan, Psyche (and just to clarify, Kiana’s actual name is Psyche, I’m so so sorry I didn’t realize I posted the not updated ref sheet when I made that initial post) Rue and Sydney reside.

Then there’s Amity

, then there’s StarShatter, which is where the more alien characters are

The universe now carries the name spectrum because each story is different parts of a spectrum of genre I like! ✨ The only anomaly currently is Nani, mostly because I dunno if I want them to be in Amity, or whispers to ashes

You think you're staying "informed" by doomscrolling through your social feeds 24/7? That's exactly what they want. It's literally designed to keep you angry, scrolling, and - most importantly - doing absolutely fucking nothing.

HERE'S WHAT NO ONE TELLS YOU:

It's OKAY to edit your feeds so you don't see that shit when you're just trying to exist

You do NOT have to consume the world's suffering every second of every day to be a "good activist" - and by the way? You're not even getting "informed" by scrolling. You need to actually look up real articles OFF of social media to understand what's happening

Hitting like and share isn't activism. Sorry. It just isn't.

You wanna actually do something?

Learn your neighbors' names. ACTUALLY TALK TO THEM about what's happening

Join your school board and ask them face-to-face why they're against queer education

Stand up to your racist uncle instead of "keeping the peace" (peace for WHO exactly?)

Find out what abortion rights groups are ALREADY DOING in your area instead of reinventing the wheel

Join an actually inclusive church (you know, like Jesus would've wanted) and see what they're ALREADY DOING to make the world better

And for fuck's sake, stop saying "oh I don't talk about politics" - YOUR SILENCE IS POLITICAL

NEWSFLASH: You don't have to start the fucking underground railroad by yourself. That shit ALREADY EXISTS - you just never had to use it before. Lucky you. So volunteer if you're a safe person, at whatever level works for you:

Send money

Show up in person

Pack supplies

Make pamphlets

Whatever you can do

Not everything's gonna get you in the history books and you know what? IT DOESN'T FUCKING MATTER.

And here's something else that matters: Going to trauma therapy - REAL trauma therapy with a therapist informed in decolonization practices - is a RADICAL ACT. If you have the means to do it, DO IT. Healing yourself is part of the work too.

AND LISTEN UP BECAUSE THIS IS IMPORTANT: IT'S OKAY THAT IT TOOK YOU THIS LONG IT'S OKAY THAT YOU'RE STARTING SMALL IT'S OKAY THAT YOU DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING

You grew up with some racist/sexist views? Yeah, most of us did. You can't get stuck there. There's too much at stake. It's time to deconstruct. It's time to do the work.

Get off your phone. Talk to your neighbors. Show up at meetings. Stand up to family. THAT'S the work.

did someone you know get an abortion? no, they didn’t. they were never pregnant.

in short, don’t be a snitch, and keep to yourself these next four years. we’ll make it through this even if it seems hopeless at times.

Just some random late night writing thoughts:

When it cones to shipping I feel like if you have to have these out of this world things to justify two characters being romantically involved (things like: oh if you don’t get together this will happen, or this whack prophecy or saying says they have to be together) it honestly feels like the writers were insecure about your writing and want a bandaid fix to excuse the characters having 0 romantic chemistry but being together anyway. Not to say prophecy can’t work over all (for example I think Usagi and Mamarou do it well) but i feel there’s a way to do it that doesn’t make it feel like a bandaid fix
