I review every movie, show, play and skit that he has been in and give my honest review as someone who doesn't actually know anything about film. This is purely for fun I have no idea what I'm doing.

shoutout to my favourite doctor who blooper ever
Doctor: Martha, you trust me don't you?
Martha: Of course I do.
Doctor: Because it all depends on you.
Martha: What does? What am I supposed to do?
David Tennant, breaking character and returning to his natural Scottish accent: Well there's a watch, but I've lost it.

i am unironically obsessed with adam west batman not only trying to be a good dad to robin, but actually succeeding. also love robin's insane energy levels and his ability to go from seething bloodlust to manic glee in record time. i think any superman worth his S would fit right into the family ^_^

#1 Dramarama (1983-1989) S. 6 Ep. 13 "The Secret of Croftmore"
I couldn't find a good picture of the show's poster so have a screenshot instead.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Episode Summary: A teenage Scottish boy named Calum Gillies, who does not want to leave his beloved Croftmore in the Highlands to move to Edinburgh, receives assistance from the ghosts of his distant relatives. - IMDB
For a little more context David plays Niel, Callum's asshole cousin who is visiting with his sister Fiona and their dad, Callum's uncle.
Normally I'd list the good and the bad but I don't have that much to say so I'll talk about it a bit and then give my notes. Dramarama is a kids show made up of mini plays and for what it is I think this episode did a good job. It's a sweet story about family and home and even manages to fit in some satisfying character growth into the 25 min runtime. It's nothing groundbreaking but it was fun. It's also handy that each episode was a completely different story cause I didn't have to do that much research.
Random:
BABY!!! He's only 17 omg.
David's character is an asshole but his silly hair makes up for it.
I love getting to hear his real accent in roles.
GHOSTS
Ghost David is slaying
"How old were you when your father died" GIRL WHAT!!? Fiona I love you but where did that come from.
Apologies!! He's growing :)
Croftmore is saved!!
He's so cutie it's not ok

The David Project
I'm going to watch and review everything David Tennant had been in starting from the beginning of his career to present day.
Rules:
The list is made up of movies, tv shows, plays, skits, mini movies, and radio dramas. That includes voice acting roles.
Everything is found on Letterbox and IMDB
I won't be doing a full review of anything I've already seen but I might do a mini one. Application of this rule may vary.
If he's only in one episode of a tv series I will only watch that episode, but will research so ik more about the show.
In cases of voice acting I might not finish the show.
Remember the driving force of this project is my love for him and that will absolutely skew results
The first one (L.A. Without a Map) is labeled #0 because I only got this idea after starting the movie. Moving forward they will be in order.
DISCLAIMER:
I am not and have never claimed to be an expert on film. I'm not even particularly interested in it that much. I'm doing this purely for my own entertainment and because I'm a big fan of his. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I'm sure there are much better ones out there than mine.
Keep in mind that these aren't entirely serious reviews and my love of David Tennant will absolutely effect the results

#0 L.A. Without a Map (1998)

⭐⭐
A British writer pursues a young actress to Hollywood and needs all the help he can get to win her love. - Summary from IMDB
The good:
Holy Young Tennant Batman!!
Moss is a literal king, best character in the movie.
Their bromance was the 2nd best relationship in it.
Barbara is a girl's girl fr (ref the scene in the parking lot at the club thing).
Richard being truly terrible at fighting.
All the Johnny Depp hallucinations.
Barbara talking to her dead dad. Awww they both have imaginary friends.
Julie x Moss is the 1st best relationship
The bad:
Oh boy second hand embarrassment.
The plot was, um, interesting ig. Idk it was kind of lacking but that could just be me.
Richard sucking at fighting goes here too cause it was too embarrassing to watch sometimes.
So many bad vibes from like everything
This series of stuff I wrote in my notes "Jealousy is not a good look for him. Oh god he's going insane. God why is he such an asshole. I was worried about her but he's the problem. He's kind of sucking actually."
Where are the likable characters.
I had to stop a few times
Random:
The voiceover is kinda silly but I like hearing his voice
Did they really get Johnny Depp for this movie??
He's so charismatic and also such a loser
Moss stays winning
THEY DID GET JOHNNY DEPP
God his hair is stupid (1:32:00 ish)
Overall rating is a ★★★. I would have given it two stars but it had enough redeeming qualities that that felt too harsh. To be honest I didn't enjoy the movie. The ending was unsatisfactory and I didn't even really want them together at that point. It becomes pretty hard to root for Richard about an hour in as he devolves into madness. Ik they sort of covered that but I didn't care enough about his character for it to be interesting. That being said it was very funny and the acting is good at least to my untrained eye. The soundtrack was pretty decent too. And of course the best part is that you get to stare at David Tennant for almost two hours.
Edit: No actually you know what after thinking about it for a day this was a fucking terrible movie. I think my detachment and utter lack of investment in the plot and characters blinded me to how awful it was. Richard and Barbara's relationship is supposed to be the main plot point except it's so dull that I didn't care about it at all. I couldn't even care enough to root against it. Richard is an asshole that you don't want to succeed but Barbara isn't likable enough either. AND THEN, when you think that maybe he might be facing some minor consequences for his repeatedly terrible behaviour SHE GOES BACK TO HIM. Who's wish fulfillment self insert is this. The only redeeming qualities are that it is consistently very funny and Moss is a king.
#i don't think i can properly emphasize how hot he is in this movie#I was gonna do this in order from his earliest to his latest#but i didn't think of that till after watching this#I'll do that moving forwards#david tennant#L.A. Without a Map#movie review
