the ending of s2 makes me violently ill bc they're both saying i love you. crowley is saying i love you despite the danger despite the risk despite everything i love you. i would run off with you and never even think to look back. and aziraphale is saying i love you and i don't want to live in world where you're in danger and im willing to try to change the very heavens so we can be together. and i can't do it alone so please come with me because i love you. and they're just barely missing each other and it absolutely fucking kills me.

aziraphale asked crowley to go to the one place in the universe that crowley could not follow him. he asked the one question in the entire history of ever that crowley couldn't say yes to. because crowley would have followed, and crowley would have said yes. to any other place, any other question. he would have followed aziraphale anywhere. the coldest corner of the universe, the bottom of the mariana trench, the head of a pin. he would have said yes to any question. no matter how ludicrous, how bizarre, how emotional or heavy or ordinary. but aizirphale asked him to follow to the one place he couldn't. he asked him the one question he couldn't say yes to. and i just think that's sad.

i have so many thoughts about the pub scene in s1e5. of course there's the classic "i lost my best friend" but there's also " i never asked to be a demon" and "look wherever you are, i'll come to you" and im convinced that mr gaimen sat down on his throne of evil and pain and thought "how can i make this three minute scene as excruciating as humanly possible?" and then he cast david tenant and michael sheen as crowley and aziraphale. we never really stood a chance, did we?

whatever you do don't think about how fundamentally unloved crowley must feel. cast out by his brothers and sisters in heaven. an outcast in hell. rejected by the one person who made him feel less alone in the universe. always alone. never enough, not for heaven, not for hell, and certainly not for aziraphale.

what absolutely fucking kills me is that during crowleys confession at the end of s2, he's not wearing his glasses. he's holding his bleeding heart out to aziraphale, saying everything he's wanted to say for roughly 6000 years or so, baring the absolute center of himself. and he's not wearing his glasses. this is him, body and soul and mind and everything. this is all he has to give. and aziraphale grounds that fragile heart under his shoe.
