My last radiation treatment was today. Hopefully now I can start to try for normalcy, getting my life back in order. Might try yoga Monday as a start. Exhausted, yes. The side effects may last another week to two, but at least it won't be playing Russian roulette with anti-nausea meds daily and dragging myself around the house bad. I still will have follow-ups. Have to have another PET scan in a few weeks to see how things turned out. And eventually the stint in my back and port in my shoulder will need to be removed. Before the end of the year ::crosses fingers:: (seeing as insurance is paying for everything right now...and I am right tired of them). Truth be told, I am too tired to get super excited and happy, so I'm going to go cry. You all do the happy for me <3

I have decided to refuse further chemo treatment. After lying in bed not knowing what day it was, feeling my heart try so hard to just beat once, and being unable to eat for three days, I don't believe this is the correct approach to my treatment. It's killing me...faster than any cancer ever would. I'm still undergoing radiation. So the crippling fatigue is still there, for now...but that, as hard as it is now with zero body mass, I can manage. I probably sound like a wimp. 2 rounds of chemo and I quit when there are people who do 24 hour regiments...and you know what? If it is working for you, I am so happy. But, as my doctor handling radiation said, "You are listening to your body. Not continuing to jump when a doctor says jump. Sure, it's the most successful option...by a 2% increase in success. And? You have to do what is best for you." I look forward to when the fatigue subsides and I can truly focus on rebuilding my body. I can't stand to look at myself...and have no idea why people pay money to look like this. I miss being 135lbs...but I WILL get my figure back. Even better. I just fear how long that will take...

I should start saving these things. Maybe they can be recycled. Or used as wallpaper. Or sharpened and used as weapons when the doctors come at me like GLaDOS wanting to do more testing… I have like…30 of them now in various colors and forms…from hospital stays to blood transfusions to random procedures… …not doing well with all this. My apologies for lack of contact. Since I started RT/chemo, I do well to be conscious let alone move or speak. At this point, it takes all my strength to crawl 10 feet because I am so weak from being unable to eat. Apparently I am part of that small group that has bad reactions to the combined treatment…in addition to all of the complimentary medications to help with side effects, like nausea. I’m going to contemplate over the weekend with the new meds. I’ll talk to my nurse Monday. I feel that this “treatment” is killing me faster than any cancer would…and I would rather die happy and fulfilled, taking care of myself holistically as best I can, than from heart failure in my bed in a couple weeks….

Nickname: “Hellboy”

The bones of the new species, which lived in the Cretaceous some 70 million years ago, were found about a decade ago near a river in southeastern Alberta, Canada. But, it wasn’t until the specimen was being prepared that its “comically small” eye horns were noticed, says Caleb Brown of the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology in Alberta.

“Once it was prepared it was obviously a new species, and an unexpected one at that. Many horned-dinosaur researchers who visited the museum did a double take when they first saw it in the laboratory,” he says.
