Yesterday, Today, & Tomorrow.
Yesterday my inner voice grumpily replied with, "Ugh but that's uncomfortable.." They fully expected to be met with the usual acceptance of defeat. You know, the one where the world bends them over and pile drives anxious screenplays and depressive inducing snacks into a space so small an ant would be cramped for space. As if that could be any more comfortable than growth?
Isn't that like the fucking point though? Is it just because I am closing in on another year in my 30's that I seem to be having obvious realizations? Or could it be the current resting place in my personal inner journey? Am I having epiphanies so small and big at the same time simply because I've decided to put on a brave face and stand up to my bad habits? Or could these seemingly common realizations be because I am finally at a point where the universe trusts me enough to impart such coveted information? Could it be both? Yuck, how fucking typically.. "Well you see sir, it's because you both weren't ready any earlier than now AND also that you were meant to be trusted now." Ew, kiss my ass. That is so annoying. Is it not?!
Today my inner voice is grappling with forming a tangible emotion (can you tell? Shove off, emotions and feeling them is still new to me). Today they are working diligently to not give away their own, hard earned, valuable power to external sources that dwell on the lowly level of "pleeb."
Tomorrow thankfully, my inner voice will be exclaiming. Celebrating and embracing being comfortable. It hasn't been an easy road to get here. It has in fact been rather uncomfortable. But not more uncomfortable than an ant in your ass. So, yeah.
The End.

Apparently This Chapter Is Called, "Permission."
I give you permission to love yourself. Just in case you haven't done that for yourself today or shit, ever.. I gift you with permission.
I give you permission to like what you see in the mirror.
I give you permission to think what you thought earlier was funny AND to laugh at it.
I give you permission to ignore the "flaws" you refuse to let go of, and to embrace the uniqueness you seem determined to forget.
I give you permission to say, "I am awesome." AND to mean it. To HEAR it. To believe it.
Tonight, tomorrow, and three weeks from now you are deserving of self-recognition. So stop abusing your closest relationship, look in the mirror, and say, "I love you."

If we were to teach our children to emotionally regulate themselves from a young age, instead of teaching our older selves how while simultaneously sifting through, processing, and confronting the trauma we've collected along the way.. Do you think we'd be setting society up for success?
What kinds of larger scale tribulations would our children be up against in a future society?
If our threats today already seem so grand, do our perceptions transition to overwhelm smaller issues?
Or do the issues themselves grow as well?
Does their growth shrink or expand?

Today's Therapy
Today my therapist gave me permission to set down all the baggage. It's heavy and I've been feeling extra tired lately.
"Just because you set it down, doesn't mean you have to forget it. Come back to it when you have the capacity to unpack it. Just let it go, for now."
Idk who else needs this, but I do know I'm not the only one.
