Here's their petition for accountability from Netflix.
[ID: A set of slides from wewillbeseen on Instagram. Firstly is a title page on a white background, featuring a television with a red screen striped with black barbed wire. Behind the barbed wire is the Netflix logo in red. Above this television begins the infographic's text.]
Jews and Rroma Demand Justice. Don't forget about Stranger Things. Respect the sites of our genocide; the holocaust is not a distant memory.
What is Lukiskes Prison and Why You Should Care
Lukiskes Prison is a former Nazi prison that was known for its cruelty [even] before World War 2. It is said that you could hear the screams of prisoners inside being brutally tortured from outside.
It became increasingly violent under the Nazi occupation of Lithuania where Rroma, Jews, Slavs and political prisoners were kidnapped, tormented, starved, and murdered.
The large sum of kidnapped people in this prison, a vast majority being Jewish, were transferred to the outskirts of Vilnius to be executed (the Ponary Massacre). At least 100,000 were killed. This site was strategically chosen to gather dead bodies quickly, and for its proximity to the train.
Prisoners had a high chance of committing suicide and self-harm. [Lukiskes Prison] was known for the psychological abuse of its inmates.
Dark Tourism: Erasing Victims
Dark tourism is defined as purposeful travel to sites involving deaths and mass tragedy. It heavily relies on the gruesome, and inhumane history to draw attraction; thus exploiting human suffering.
Lithuania has re-branded and intentionally turned Lukiskes Prison into a site of "entertainment" to erase its history of our genocide. They now call it Lukiskes 2.0. This is blatant Holocaust revisionism and denial.
Under a society driven by capital, countries or institutions that have committed these horrific acts now turn it into [an opportunity for their own financial gain], as the victims still suffer.
This leads to the desensitization of tragedy and is an intentional tool for those who wish to forget that tragedy, or that is used by people who want to turn said tragedy into a photo-op.
Erasure In Action
[ID: Twitter screenshots of multiple music artists, all using the hashtag "my bloody festival." Included are Sleaford Mods, Kristina Dryža, and battles. "Thank you people of Vilnius and to a wicked gig." "Playing at a legit prison tonight in Lithuania. I hope you can come. On at 8pm!" End ID.]
There is no educational value in this. "Money for the upkeep of the prison" can come from different places [that aren't disrespectful festivals].
Remember, Lithuania has also turned a concentration camp into a wedding venue. This is intentional.
Desensitization In Action
[ID: A screenshot from Stranger Things's Instagram story, picturing the hands and wrists of five pale people, each permanently tattooed with the numbers 007 through 011. Framing this photo is a quote from the show: "Bitchin', right? Yeah, yeah. Bitchin'." End ID.]
[ID 2: In short, an interior shot of one of the cells in Lukiskes, decorated with 80s-style furniture, the multicolored Christmas lights that have become characteristic of the show, and the words "nobody knows where Vilnius is because it hides very well." End ID.]
Caption: Stranger Things encouraging fans to get numerical wrist tattoos, and AirBNB's Stranger Things hotel design inside the former Nazi Prison.
If the tattoos [in the show] were supposed to represent "fascism" or "oppression," then why are the creators encouraging fans to mock symbols of oppression?
As if the parallel of filming in a Nazi prison and getting wrist tattoos wasn't enough.
Netflix, Stranger Things, and Lukiskes 2.0
Netflix has repeatedly mocked the trauma of Rroma and Jewish Holocaust victims, and the ongoing persecution of Rroma by allowing British "comedian" Jimmy Carr's special to air.
Therefore their actions in tandem with AirBNB and Stranger Things shouldn't shock you.
The rebranding of Lukiskes is only a microcosm of the grander revisionism and denial of the Holocaust across Europe.
Even though Netflix hosts a guided tour on the history [of the Holocaust], it means nothing when they allow people to party on top of our graves, commodifying our death.
The brutality of the carceral system and our genocide is not for capital.

we’re all talking about the inherent homo-romanticism of sharing a dupatta, but what about putting on mehendi for each other, what about hiding your name in the other person’s mehendi, drawing little hearts on the palm of their hands, what about it gaysis, what about it

Pro Tip: If you’re writing a queer story specifically I find it that you get more exposure on Tapas compared to Wattpad, since tapas has a higher number queer audience (not fact, it’s just what i think and what my experience is)
Hello! I was wondering if you could tell me places to publish ebooks for other people to read for free. I only know of whatpad, but I kinda don't trust that site (don't ask me why haha).
Or is whatpad a good place? I actually don't have much experience with the site :x
Wattpad is a great place to start posting your work for free! I have an account there and it's been very helpful for building a community, gaining exposure, and practicing sharing my work publicly.
Your work remains entirely 1000% your own, too!
There are some downsides of course - there can be trolls, drama, scammers, etc. but that comes with any website.
You can also try:
Inkitt (though I don't think it has as wide of an audience as Wattpad)
Tapas (I have no personal experience with this one though!)
This article has a bunch of Wattpad alternatives you could try!
Bottom line: try a bunch of sites and see what works for your writing! It might take a while to gain traction with regular updates on any website, so don't get discouraged if you don't get reader interaction right away. Some websites will have a different base of readership too, so if one website doesn't work for you, another one might suit you better!
Good luck! :)

#txt#desi#im gonna go off in the tags so just bear with me#i think cousins work the hardest during weddings#on both sides hdjbgh#but the bride side compared to the groom's side is so different tho jfhdbghd#there is always a time set to meet at the parlour to get our hair and make-up done for each day#every cousin comes to the parlour in a different way#most share a two-wheeler#the more stable ones come in car#and both of them feel special in their own way#every car ride includes antakshari no matter how short the ride is#and every ride on a scooter or mototbike is screams as the wind messes up your hair#and the lady at the parlour will complain about it and tell you to drive the two-wheeler slowly when you return home#there will be music playing in the parlour some wedding tune that we listen to every wedding#one of the cousins will be asked to get some street food from the uncle selling it outisde#if he's selling roasted mumfali in a paper cone it's always a bonus#and we sing along with the songs#talk about the event happening that night or that afternoon#how excited we are to celebrate#maybe gossip about someone a little bit as a treat#about bhaiya's bhabhi who wore a hideous dress#or the aunty who doesn't stop pinching your cheerks#i think my favourite event is baraat#esp when you're on the girls side#the groom arrives at the venue on a horse and it's just so perfectly dramatic for a desi wedding#ok apparently in some places its a car#but listen where i come from#it's a horse ok it's a fucking horse because desis are dramatic like that

i thought gfm would be a better option for Ari but it seems more people prefer to send through ca$happ or p4yp4l.
Ari is afro indigenous, trans, and pregnant (i misunderstood and thought they had lost it), and is homless with their family trying to escape an abuser and his friends. They have attacked Ari 3 times since February, hospitalising them each time. Ari has gotten a concussion and a fractured wrist from this.
They continually face increasing danger and i am trying to get them closer to me as they are in Texas.
If you can, reblog this post or the other ones and help them if you can!
Ari has $1,800 left to go!
ca$happ: $thewilderthings
p4yp4l: [email protected] (share pp between us but everything this time is theirs)

what's ur opinion on kashmir files?
oh... um well fuck
i feel like i shouldn't have an opinion since i have yet to see the movie
but, from what I know it is really good to finally see Kashmiri voices getting heard for once since they have been suppressed for so long.
however, i just wished that right-wingers didn't use the movie as a way to further hate on the Muslim community and cause the religious-political climate to become worse
Im not going to say anything else.
