Oat and Peach Waffles!!

So, pain woke me up at 1 am, so to distract myself, I decided to play in the kitchen. I had some peaches and decided to use them up! Peaches are really awesome, and provide great benefit to our bodies. They help lower blood sugars, help reduce cardiovascular disease, can reduce allergy symptoms and can aid in digestion. And these are just a few of the benefits!! So, here is the awesome and tasty recipe!

1 banana, mashed

2 peaches, peeled and chopped

3 tbsp splenda

1 tbsp sugar free syrup

1 stick Country Crock plant based butter

1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

1 tbsp vanilla extract

1 tsp almond extract

1 pinch salt

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

2 cups oat flour ( I used old fashioned oats and processed them in the food processor)

1 cup GF flour or almond flour plus 1 tbsp

In a bowl, melt your butter then mash your banana. Wisk the two together. Then add vanilla, almond extract, splenda and syrup and salt. Wisk well. Then add the oat flour, GF flour, baking powder, baking soda and milk. Switch the wisk for a spoon and fold the mixture. Add more milk as needed to thin out. In a bowl take your peaches and dust them with some flour and then fold into your mixture.

Pour your mix into a greased, hot waffle iron. I have mine set to 375( if your requires a temp setting I have found this one works best!). Cook about 3 minutes or until the level of brown/crispness you desire.

You can serve with some fresh peaches, whipped cream, maple syrup or peanut butter or just eat them plain! Enjoy!!

She Is Perhaps the Mother of One of You

(You may have seen this drabble before, it was the first thing I posted when I joined the fandom back in December. On ao3 here)

Combeferre surveyed the neat stack of bloody uniforms. Four jackets, four shakos, four of everything.

“She is waiting by her window,” Enjolras said behind him. “I detoured there on my way.”

Combeferre saw it–the familiar white head, the candle burning low.

“I would not think less of you,” Enjolras said.

Combeferre turned. In the weak basement light, Enjolras’s face was a map of shadows, and his eyes were dark. He looked more human than god, for once.

“I will not abandon my family,” Combeferre said. “Take the uniforms, and I will carry the shakos. We can yet save lives.”

Unpopular Les Mis opinion

Almost every fan I see online ships Enjolras and Grantaire. Listen I do not think they’d be together for two reasons.

1. Enjolras thought Grantaire was a drunk cynic. When he gave Grantaire a chance, R blew it. Yes Grantaire worshipped Enjolras. Yes R is definitely gay or bi if you’d rather. But it was most likely unrequited or it was up to their deaths. R annoyed Enjolras, he was the complete opposite of everything Enjolras stood for and believed in. So yeah R frustrated him and the only thing that turned Enj’s opinion of him was R being willing to die for him. That was the wake up call for Enjolras and maybe, maybe if something huge like that, that showed R’s loyalty and true character then Enjolras would maybe consider a romantic relationship with R but that leads me to point 2

2. ENJOLRAS WAS ASEXUAL. I don’t get why he had to be in a relationship with someone the whole point of his character was that he was completely devoted to freeing his country. And yes you can do that in a relationship and yes an ace person could be in a relationship. But Enjolras? Bare breasts couldn’t turn his eyes and I know many think that means he likes guys. But Hugo didn’t have to say someone wasn’t gay because the general expectation back then was they weren’t unless you basically came out and said it like he did with R and our fave polyamourous trio.

This boy was idealistic. He had one goal in life and he wasn’t the type to allow himself to be sidetracked. Think of modern day people who put their careers above all else. That’s Enjolras. If it isn’t for France or helping his friends, then he doesn’t care. I think the line is “he thought the flowers were only good to hide the sword” My book is way over there and it’s dark. So I’m paraphrasing.

Maybe it’s because I’m an asexual and hate seeing characters forced into romance when they’re perfectly fine with out one and everything indicates they’d rather not either. But if Enjolras had a non sexual relationship with anyone it’d be Combeferre or Prouvaire. That’s a rock fact. :p

But anyway ship R and Enjolras if you want, you’re entitled to it as much as I am not to. I just had to get it out or I’d explode! Please don’t be offended! Enjolras was the first ace character I ever read and my first thought when I found what the term meant. He means a lot to me.
