Two of the new Copy Abilities introduced in Kirby: Squeak Squad are Ghost and Bubble, and they both present a similar theme: how can the player use the enemies in the environment in new ways. Ghost allows players to control enemies partially, while Bubble allows players to transform enemies (often into Stars), but both come with the disadvantage that Kirby cannot actually attack bosses on his own in these forms. In addition to providing a new tool, these abilities also reinforce the usefulness and importance of other Copy Abilities, often by pushing the player to make use of them in different ways.

While the first half of the game is largely linear, Chrono Trigger is heavily influenced by small decisions the player makes throughout their adventure. While these will sometimes manifest themselves as groundbreaking events (ex. gaining Magus, or cutting him down), they can also change up the events of the game in smaller ways as well. Two of the best examples of this include how the player chooses to take on the Black Omen, and their choices leading up to the trial at the beginning of the game.

While in your apartment in Silent Hill 4: The Room, you have a few limited interactions that you can carry out each time. They’re usually optional, but they also represent the only “routine” actions that the game really allows. As such, this warped view of the world, where the player character can only interact with things from an observational point of view, starts to feel “normal,” even when it clearly not. This reinforces the dread and silent terror the game is trying to unveil.
