For Yuri
If I could
I’d take your sadness
And eat it
Absorb it into me
So I could carry it
So it wouldn’t be in you
You have left
Such a massive, a colossal
A crater of an impact on my heart
I say all this to say I love you
I miss you
I go mad without you
I go desperate without you

What If I
I couldn’t sleep
I couldn’t dream
The world outside
Just keeps turning
Cities keep on burning
I couldn’t walk
I couldn’t talk
The way I wanted
The face I wear outside
Just keeps me sad
Just looks so bad
What if I
Could look how I am?
Then you’d know I am no man
I couldn’t speak
My voice just creaks
Coming out the same
Been that way so long
It’s always been so wrong
I couldn’t peek
I hate to peep
Myself in the mirror
Just see what’s on the outside
Never the inside
What if I
Could look how I am?
Then you’d know I am no man
I’ll never be free
I’ll never walk away from me

For a Faraway Woman
You run your fingers
Through my thoughts
Your presence lingers
Always in my thoughts
As I burn to know you
And cry out for your touch
As I yearn to hold you
Feel a sliver of love
And share my heart
Planting a seed of love
In that most secret part
Where love comes from

Me For Myself
You were my first time
But you weren’t the last
These days I just try
To leave you in the past
You were my everything
I was your secret shame
You were so insecure
And I was so full of pain
When we said goodbye
I knew it was for good
I wonder why
I ever thought I could
Love someone else
When I couldn’t love myself
And someone else
Can love me for myself
You were right
You were the only one
Now at night
I’m not the lonely one
Now it’s all over
And the story is through
I’ll find a lover
But who is loving you?
You were my everything
I was your secret shame
You were so insecure
And I was so full of pain
When we said goodbye
I knew it was for good
I wonder why
I ever thought I could
Love someone else
When I couldn’t love myself
And someone else
Can love me for myself

INTRO TO ME
Hey. If you see this, thanks for checking out my blog. I’m a writer and artist. I’ve published 6 poetry books. I post free poetry on Patreon (patreon/jasonbeam). And sometimes I post poetry here too.
I’m a trans woman who has recently come out so a lot of my poems are based on my experiences struggling with transition and dysphoria.
I plan on posting some art here too.

I Could Never Be
Seeing my face
In the looking glass
Hate my body
Hate my face, my ass
Hate looking like this
Putting on lipstick
With no-one to kiss
I could never be
A real woman
I could never see
My life as a woman
I know I’ll never be
A real girl like I want to be
Seeing my life
Changes incrementally
Glacial pace
Weighs on me mentally
Dysphoria creeps in
Depression taking me
Life unraveling seems
I could never be
A real woman
I could never see
My life as a woman
I know I’ll never be
A real girl like I want to be

Thing We Call Love
Can’t buy happiness
That’s what they say
But I can buy attention
If I send funds your way
Can’t buy real love
That’s true, I know
But I can buy affection
For the price you show
Love has never been
Particularly kind
Even lust has never
Ever been blind
You see my loneliness
I see you need money
You know my need
I know cash is honey
It’s all a transaction
A very nice distraction
A pleasant imitation of
This illogical thing we call love
Cash can’t buy real attraction
But I can buy a fantasy
And satisfaction
We both get something
Out of our agreement
Then we’ll feel nothing after the green’s spent
It’s all transactional
Your touch is fantastical
A pleasant imitation of
This illogical thing we call love

Bring Back the Guillotine
They say it’s time to impeach
They say it’s time to protest
But you can’t jail those out of reach
When they make the law for the rest
The powers that be
Know our voices don’t mean a thing
Nothing will change
Unless we bring back the guillotine
There’s people in the streets
Chanting, waving signs
But you can’t change anything
Unless you put the rich in a gunman’s sight
Our so-called representatives
Only steal from you and me
Until we’re all destitute present tenses
But you think your neighbors are the enemy
The powers that be
Know our voices don’t mean a thing
Nothing will change
Unless we bring back the guillotine
The only good millionaire is a dead millionaire
When power goes to their head
It’s time they lose them
Before we all end up dead

The Morning
Waiting for the light outside to turn blue
Waiting for sleep to come
Thinking of how to slip out from you
While my hand goes numb
From you sleeping on it too
In the morning
I’ll leave this bed
But you’ll linger
On in my head
Even as I leave this town
Waiting for your breathing to slow
Waiting for a cue
So I’ll know when it’s time to go
I still smell your perfume on you
Still taste your skin smooth and mellow
In the morning
I’ll let you sleep
As I drive away
But I know you’ll keep
Staying with me for awhile
