Gluten 1: Stop Picking on Gluten There is a giant elephant in the room and it isn’t gluten. Nobody wants to talk about it because gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, corn, and sugar make such wonderful scapegoats. I’m well aware that this stance will make me unpopular amongst nutrition “experts” and my integrative medicine colleagues, but it’s time we call a spade a spade.

Allopathic medicine can be a wonderful approach for dealing with acute medical conditions. But history (and common sense?) has shown us that an allopathic approach is a very poor strategy for improving and resolving chronic health conditions.
However, a functional approach that looks for underlying dysfunction and the contributing factors to that dysfunction has proven to be a much better approach. But here is the rub: this is a problem-solving technique…not a branch or modality of care. That means that the quality of care one receives is not dependent on the number of licenses, degrees, or certifications a practitioner has, or even on the specialization of the practitioner.
