@since-times-long-forgotten alright so basically, from my knowledge of cat genetics (im admittedly still a beginner when it comes to cat genetics), black is dominant to both browns, right?

theyll have to be light brown or some other kind of diluted brown, but they could be brown!

for silverstream, shes said to look very similar to her mother so i believe shes got her silver gene (inhibitor gene, i believe, which is dominant) from willow as well as the black gene

willow could get the inhibitor gene from fallow or reed, though thats probably affect going to affect how they look and one of them would have to turn black or gray in order for willow and graypool to be gray

from how i see it, the inhibitor gene also passed down onto feathertail and stormfur didnt get it bc silver would have one gene that makes her silver (dominant) and one gene that makes her not silver (recessive) and grays not silver so storms not!

i have put way too much thought into cat genetics

it was my first time playing through the game so i was picking choices that i would pick if i was actually in the game and not just playing and i didnt have it in me to cast crucio on someone else

it was the same reason why i didnt learn imperio or avada kedavra

i, personally, wouldnt be able to use those spells on another human being

robin is supposed to be the light to batmans darkness

robin reminds batman what hes fighting *for* when batman forgets and just focuses on the fight

dick was good at that, but that wasnt what his time as robin was about

his time as robin was about him joining the fight too

jason was there to remind batman to be bruce

tim was there to remind batman to be *human*

tim was batmans biggest support and he continued to be that, even after bruce ‘died’

i just love tim fitting with bruce in a way no other robin ever had or ever will, but bruce doesnt realize it

bruce was focused on his grief for jason for years and by the time he got it into his head to really appreciate tim, tim was already red robin

still there to support, but with his own life and fight now

bruce reminiscing on all the missed opportunities to tell time that he loved him because he was too caught up in the past

and that leads to bruce realizing that thats always what hes done

hes always bedn trapped in the past, unable to move on and appreciate the present

tim being imperative to bruce becoming a better father, batman, and just person in general but it comes at the cost of tim

tim will never be the same either

hes been irreparably changed by bruce in the way bruce had been irreparably changed by tim

tim has blood on his hands thatll never wash away

his brain will always jump to how he can defeat whoever is in the room with him

he cant sleep without worrying about the criminals of gotham and what theyre up to

i just love tim and bruce

What if people noticed when Jason Todd died?

What if the people of Gotham noticed when Bruce Wayne’s ward died?

What if it was reported on the news and people started sending home cooked meals to the mansion because maybe Bruce doesn’t cook for himself, but everyone knew Alfred was as much a father to Jason as he was and he shouldn’t have to cook either

Maybe people talked about it over the newspaper obit. column 

‘Poor Bruce, it’s difficult to lose a child.’ ‘What did it say he died from again?’ ‘Tuberculosis, I think. Probably had it since he was living on the streets.’ ‘I heard it was cancer.’ ‘No, it was a car crash in another country, damn drunk drivers.’

And then what if one bright-eyed new reporter started digging to get the first exclusive story on Bruce Wayne’s mourning

And instead stumbled across another autopsy report in some file that was supposed to be burned with the new year that said Jason didn’t die of natural causes

That Jason suffered from blunt force trauma, concussion, and evidence of being in an explosion. 

And that he also showed scaring of years worth of bruising and broken bones.

The real autopsy only stays online for two hours before it’s taken down

But everyone in Gotham knows about it

They brush it off as someone trying to defile the good Wayne name in a time of weakness. 

The reporter is blacklisted.

The real report is burned,

But it has planted a seed in the people’s mind

And they start to think about how Jason always had bruises and cuts on his arms

And how Jason sometimes showed up with two black eyes

And often he walked like he had a stick up his pant leg…maybe like a splint.

But Gotham’s elite argue with themselves that Jason Todd was a street kid.

Jason Todd got kicked out of Gotham Academy for fighting.

Jason Todd had a temper.

It wasn’t Bruce’s fault he couldn’t reign in that rebellious spirit

A Wayne couldn’t be blamed for the trouble his ward got into.

Gotham’s favorite son wouldn’t beat children.

But then they remember that one time when Dick Grayson showed up to a charity gala with a cast on his arm.

And he had laughed it off as a motorcycle accident and with his brilliant  smile people believed him.

But now, no one remembers anything about it in the papers.

Surely someone would have covered the charming Richard Grayson’s accident

And come to think of it, no one remembered Dick even owning, let alone driving a motorcycle.

And Dick Grayson wasn’t a street kid.

Dick Grayson didn’t have a temper.

Dick Grayson was the perfect ward, the perfect student.

But Dick Grayson had bruises too.

And maybe when Tim shows up the people of Gotham pay a bit more attention

Maybe at galas, they check him for purple spots, slyly pushing up the sleeves on his suit in a flirtatious manner or spilling wine on his shirt and press a little harder than necessary to dab the drink away before it stains just to see if Tim winces.

But Tim Drake is smart.

Tim Drake wears make-up to cover his bruises and scars.

Tim Drake takes pain-killers to numb the sting.

And anything too hurtful to handle or cover, Tim Drake forges an accident report as an alibi.

And this puts the people at ease.

But maybe, once, when passing at the GCPD ball, Tim thinks he hears Commissioner Gordon whisper ‘Be careful, son’

And Tim immediately thinks Gordon’s found him out as Robin, but later decides it was just his nerves.

But Gordon watches him and routinely shows up at the manor unannounced to try and catch anything off

Because Bruce Wayne may be Gotham’s favorite son, but Gordon is still its commissioner.

Because he’s got a daughter and how can he look her in the face if he let another man hit his child.

Because he already has one kid running around at night with Batman, risking his life to do what the police can’t

Because maybe he can’t can’t save Robin, but he can save Tim

Because Gordon’s seen too much crime and too much death to ignore even the smallest suspicions. 

What if Jason Todd wasn’t the only one who blamed Bruce for his death?

What if people thought Bruce was violent with his wards?

What if Gotham looked at Bruce Wayne differently?

What if people noticed when Jason Todd died? part 2

People have been asking me after this, what about Damian and Tim so here it goes.

By the time Damian Wayne shows up most people have all but forgotten the foul rumor

‘Bruce Wayne beat ch…that’s ridiculous. Have you seen Tim. Yeah, he’s a little thin and pasty, but if he even got poked a little hard he’d welt up like an old banana.’

Those that remember are mostly the clean GCPD officers and the elite who aren’t constantly drunk enough to forget their own names.

They get suspicious every once and a while when Tim gets particularly injured and stays out of the public eye.

Because Tim is unnaturally pale and skinny and maybe he can hide the bags under his eyes, but he can’t stop the shaking in his hands when he comes to school downing two cups of coffee.

But he’s a smart kid and being smart sometimes means pulling all-nighters for exams and who can blame him for a couple of caffeine jitters.

‘There’s no way he got into a car accident. He was just in the hospital last week!’ ‘Kid’s got some rotten luck.’ ‘Or a rotten guardian.’

But Tim Drake is smart and has never used the same excuse twice.

And it’s hard to argue with a kid ‘barely escaped a stage light falling on him with nothing but a broken arm’, who seems to have the whole world against him.

So when Damian appears, ‘publicly’ at least, the discontent has died a little.

At least until Tim leaves the manor behind at the sudden arrival of a Wayne decedent riles them up again.

When Tim disappears from Gotham, the people start talking again.

‘So Bruce just tosses him out when he gets his own blood son?’ ‘Tim probably wanted to leave. ‘He’s, what, sixteen, seventeen? He doesn’t get to do what he wants! No matter how smart he is!’

And then another thought appears,

‘How old was Dick Grayson when he left?’

And with it comes a nasty idea.

‘Did Bruce Wayne have an age limit?’ ‘Do you think there’s an time where Dick, Jason, Tim start to fight back?’ ‘Did Jason fight back? Is that why…’ ‘Do you think we failed to protect another.’

And Gordon makes a trip to Metropolis to demand an exact explanation, to which Tim responds that ‘No, it wasn’t Bruce, it was just time. Time to move on.’

And Gordon feels a sick drop in his stomach because that sounds a lot like something Dick Grayson said once. Something similar to the reason Nightwing separated from Batman. Both which Gordon had no control over, but both which Gordon blamed himself for not stepping in when he saw a little darkness creep in.

And so Damian Wayne is going to be different.

They pinched his cheeks to look for punches. They cooed over his clothes to feel for bruising.

They approached Damian Wayne with a mission.

Protect at all costs.

They quickly realize Damian Wayne doesn’t need protecting.

Damian Wayne isn’t like the others.

They saw Dick as always aiming to please, no matter the cost. Jason was trying to prove himself. Both left them vulnerable to an oppressive force.

Tim, while calculating, seemed fragile. It didn’t matter what Tim did in his ‘free time’, Gotham saw him as small and easily swayed to another’s will.

Damian, though, was stubborn and arrogant and didn’t seem to care what anyone thought.

And people thought he was safe.

They saw more Bruce in Damian than any other. They thought that would keep him safe.

And when Bruce left on his ‘trip’ and Dick came back to care for Damian, Gotham heaved a sigh of relief.

Because they saw Damian Wayne become less hostile.

He became less arrogant

He became less like Bruce

And people had to wonder if it was because Damian felt safer around Dick, or if he felt safer away from Bruce.

And when Bruce Wayne came back, and Dick left, and Gotham saw Damian turn back, turn hateful, they thought of an even more terrible idea.

Damian Wayne was different.

But Damian Wayne was ten.

And a ten year old faced with his abuser would be afraid. Would be hateful. Without a protector, without Dick Grayson, all the change, all the safety disappears.

And maybe before the people of Gotham can do anything, can confront anything, Damian Wayne, the son of Billionaire Bruce Wayne, Gotham’s favorite son, disappears.

Maybe there’s some explanation given or maybe there isn’t. Maybe they’re told he’s off with his mother, maybe they’re told he’s dead. It doesn’t matter because Damian is gone without a trace.

And the people of Gotham remember Jason.

And maybe they feel they failed.

Because some remember the times Bruce complained about Damian.

Him saying over and over again how he doesn’t listen to him. He’s disobedient. He needs to learn respect.

And Commissioner Gordon remembers how he always felt Bruce had some darkness in him.

And maybe Damian is the last straw.

There’s no proof of what Gotham thinks Bruce Wayne has done. Dick and Tim won’t admit to anything. Alfred probably wouldn’t know what happens in every hall of Wayne Manor. Jason’s dead. Damian’s missing.

But Gotham doesn’t need evidence to convict Bruce in the eye of the public.

Because Gotham is run by the law ‘guilty until proven innocent’.

Gotham turns on Bruce, maybe without him even knowing why.

Maybe Commissioner Gordon gets calls from Bruce Wayne asking for units to come patrol because someone is defacing his home.

And maybe Gordon forgets to actually send officers, or maybe he does and just no one shows up.

And maybe Dick and Tim get calls in the middle of the night begging them to come forward, to which they answer the rumors are just that, rumors.

And when Damian Wayne returns, the people of Gotham are relieved, but not trustful.

And when Bruce loses his memory, maybe the people of Gotham don’t think that’s such a bad thing.

Do you ever wonder just how much Clark needs to take care of Bruce since Bruce refuses sufficiently care for himself?? Like how much do you want to bet that Bruce gets so caught up in his busy schedule that he consistently forgets to eat, so Clark comes around every day with his nutrition shake and lbh ‘world’s greatest detective’ my ass is completely oblivious and thinks Clark’s just being sweet, thoughtful Clark and not literally KEEPING THE MAN ALIVE.

Like I bet you anything when Clark goes out of town on reporter business he finds someone to take over Bruce duty and it’s usually Diana but in the rare occasions she’s not available he has to get someone like Ollie to do it and he’s all

“And he doesn’t get any sleep at night so you have to make sure to put him down for a nap around noon.”

And Ollie’s just “??? I’m sorry, how exactly am I supposed to put a full grown man who beats the shit out of people dressed like a bat down for a nap??? You want me to tuck him in and read him a story??”

And Clark’s completely straight faced and just “No. I want you to crush two pills of Ambien and put it in his protein shake.”

took me roughly 3 days before i was satisfied

i found reference art for lightningfur and a head pic for nightshine, but i mostly just winged it for feathertail, claw, and tadpole

does claw have a collar? no clue, so i gave her a yellow one. because.

i made feathertail a mist marble tabby because i wanted to make her a sokoke tabby but i didnt have the motivation to do so. i didnt want to make her a boring classic tabby because silverstream is described as a very pretty cat (which to me means she doesnt have normal stripes) and feathertail is like.. silverstream with long fur. i made the stripes on her tail vaguely feather-shaped but i cant draw feathers for the life of me, so...
