Opinion:

Howdy is so undervalued and unappreciated in Welcome Home.

That man is the source of a lot of the physical chaos in the neighborhood by supplying what everybody needs.

Julie and Barnaby have to get their toys and stuff from somewhere. Frank has to get books and supplies. Poppy needs baking equipment and ingredients. Wally needs paint and art tools. Sally needs materials for props.

Eddie has to need something.

Where does everyone get their stuff? The Bodega.

Howdy does everything he can to ensure people are happy. For example, that hotdog he makes on a regular basis for Barnaby must take skill for everything to not come crashing down. He takes Poppy’s groceries to her barn because she gets anxious going out.

Poor guy barely has a life outside of his work, and even then, it’s always squeezed in somewhere. Why is that?

Well…

If he only sees people regularly in the Bodega, it makes sense he would want it to appeal so that they would come by more often.

Howdy needs company, and the only company he has is in his company, because the neighbors usually only interact with him while he’s working.

Maybe that’s just me, but Howdy deserves better from everyone. He’s just trying to get company but it comes off as advertising.

Yes, it is advertising but I don’t think it’s fully led by greed.

Maybe he just wants people to spend a little time with him, and a neighbor coming by the bodega to check something out is the only way that happens.

She's a teacher, and my biggest obsession lately! I promise you there's more to her, but I can't think of any witty way of introducing her here, so i'll let you read a little bit of her description!

"Prepare yourself to learn about everything, we mean it! Miss Magnificent is one of the most patient and intelligent neighbors in Welcome home. Among the books, chalks and apples of her school, she'll always do her best to make herself understood. Such kindness makes it a tough job to not consider Miss as the greatest teacher around. When she isn't working, it isn't uncommon to see her around neighbors that need a helping hand."
