I had a lifer genus. Maratus. I dreamed of meeting some one day. Then back in 2017, many dreams came true and I got to travel to Australia for work. Once the job wrapped up, I spent a week with some spider photographer friends I’d known for years online… and the first time a Maratus volans danced on my hand? I cried.

Normalize having Lifer bugs. Just because they're often tiny and strange doesn't mean they can't spark joy.

This gorgeous nugget wasp (Perilampus hyalinus) isn't a rare sight necessarily, but, like, just look at her! 💙💜 I had not found one before, and she made my day.

Since Disneyland hasn’t made a Bad Batch Magic Band yet (tbh, Disneyland has a whole lot of nothing in regards to Bad Batch merch in general)… I customized my own! I’m still not sure what the point of Magic Bands are, but at looking at mind makes me happy! 😂

I don’t post work stuff awesome, but I had a really great time last night hanging out with coworkers to see our suits in action in Blue Beetle. The movie is fun, we actually got screen credit, and they even had one of the suits on display on the theatre lobby! I’m always proud of the work we do at Ironhead Studio. I love my job.

I don’t know if anyone here also follows my jennrosefx Instagram, but if so, it got hacked. Please please please ignore anything it sends you. I feel so unbelievably stupid. I’m so upset. I know better. I KNOW BETTER.

So, a little over a month ago, I got myself a new camera and lens. I’d been toying with switching to Mirrorless for awhile, and by selling a couple of lenses I’d been meaning to sell, I was finally able to make the switch. And I have to say… it’s the best thing I’ve ever bought. Sometimes I hug the camera when no one is looking. I love it so, so much and it brings me a whole lot of joy. And being the accident prone, ADHD hurricane that I am, I’m going out of my way to try to take better care of it than I have past equipment. In an attempt to protect it from scratches and dust when it’s laying around my house or being thrown in my car to go birding, I ordered a protective sleeve for it (I prefer to call it “Camera Pajamas” because protective sleeve just sounds…). Anyways, all this today I had an Aurebesh patch made that says “Firepuncher” because I love this camera as much as Crosshair loves his rifle and I’m a great big nerd. And I’m absolutely delighted by it. Delighted I tell you!! 😂
