okay SO series no one asked for, of TTPD as the exterior PopStar Facade and Anthology as Taylor’s inner life, and thus telling the same story from different perspectives/narrators: it all begins with fortnight and the black dog… fortnight being Taylor’s explanation of how she decided to publicly blow up her life because she convinced herself it was the only way to get out of the inevitable conclusion to a deteriorating relationship (cheating husband, wishing you’d married a neighbor instead, they seem happy and stable and have forgotten about your old fling)… the black dog taking us into just how much she was suffering internally watching joe live a life without her as their relationship falls apart and he becomes interested in someone else (he forgot to turn it off)…

the contrast between the internal daydream/metaphor taylor uses to explain the public fallout in her life that we all witnessed, and the private suffering that she was experiencing at the end and during the actual breakup itself, is very poignant. her A-side/exterior reality is matter-of-fact and decided about the relationship she’s in (Joe the cheating husband) and focuses on the hope of the new relationship (Matty) as being a better choice for her. she’s seen as heartless for moving on so fast, or celebrated for pursuing her freedom (finally, woohoo!!). her B-side/interior reality is acutely suffering with the demise of her relationship and left in a position of cyberstalking her current (or soon-to-be) ex as he meets with a new person. she seems to be beyond this entirely and moving on, per side A, yet she’s not at all. she’s still stuck longing for him and can’t understand why he doesn’t seem to miss her. A new relationship won’t fix either of them, because old habits die screaming…

Being suicidal but but not exactly depressed Is so wild cuz i literally did homework, cooked for tomorrow, AND took a bath in less than four hours all after a full day at uni, yes i cried on the bus this morning about how hopeless i feel, yes I contemplated killing myself through out the day, but also i have yummy food for tomorrow and feel satisfied with what I'm turning in for this project... Everything is getting worse and better and worse and better and i can't tell a single thing about my brain
