Luminous and not-so-ephemeral-anymore work by @geraldclarkeart exhibited at @psartmuseum.⁣ ⁣ I was just reminded of the conservative argument against funding the arts in general and the NEA in particular, which often included a dismissive comment about “basket weaving.” ⁣ ⁣ I don’t know a lot about basket weaving as a craft or art form in history. Late on a chilly spring afternoon I made a pilgrimage toward MassArt’s Tree House Student Residence. It is a building whose candy-like color and LEGO-ish striations have intrigued me for a long time and were enhanced and saturated by golden hour. It is not for the “faint of art” and seems to rise up against the greys and browns of its urban setting in an independent yet playful stance.
