This is a star hydrangea flower, handmade in pure silver. I purchased a small plant for my mother many years ago and it has become a rather glorious bush with beautiful white and pale blue flowers. I wrapped the flower with a lovely blue-purple faceted iolite stone, somewhat reminiscent of the flowers.

Today is National Hot Chocolate Day!

In the last two months, Fine Arts Library staff have braved the cold and made several outings to a local chocolatier.

As shown in this photo, our favorite spot to sit down with our hot beverages and enjoy conversation is the Sunken Garden in Radcliffe Yard. During the winter, the fountain is covered and there is not much vegetation to look at. But from early spring to late October, it is a fabulous oasis with blooming flowers and beautiful trees that provide nice shady seating areas.

There’s nothing like hot chocolate on a cold day to make people happy. Wherever you are, we hope you're enjoying a nice cup of hot chocolate today! And remember to visit the Sunken Garden if you’re in Harvard Square this coming spring or summer.

Final Major Project 2021, Theme: "tell us a story."

We had the option to retell a story through art or other means, a preexisting story or one we made up. So I went with the story of the secret garden(the Film version), it's a story that I've loved since I was really young and I loved the visuals!

We kinda had to make the story our own or put a little twist on to it-So i just slightly changed up the character designs (heavily based on the 1993 film version)and made Dickon a red head for no reason hah!

So This is the 4 painting series I did telling the story -Each is a season correlating main plots in the story.

Summer-Mary living in India before her parents died, Autumn-Mary coming to England to live with her uncle in his manor, Winter-Mary Befriending Dickon and planting bulbs for spring, Spring-Her Finally happy with her family/found family and enjoying life.

If i could go back i wouldnt change much- just do more research and gathering stuff.

A neighbor told me about a secret garden in our neighborhood.

I scoped it out Tuesday with a drive-by, went back yesterday with my trusty old Through the Viewfinder rig.

I wandered around for about 40 minutes, lots of cool garden art and plenty of color to shoot.

Pretty cool.
