My first video has been scripted for MONTHS now, and I’ve just finished filming this weekend. Yet as I get into the home stretch of editing my computer is giving up on me and throwing a tantrum. Time to clear out all of my old video files that I haven’t touched in years to make space and pray that the chaos gods will let me finish One Thing

The irritating thing about Poison Ivy as a character is that:

1. Poison Ivy isn’t a villain because she kills billionaires, she’s a villain because she sincerely, unironically believes all that Perhaps Humanity Is The Real Virus claptrap, and she’s prepared to make that everybody’s problem. If she were a climate change activist, she’d be the kind who thinks the oil company CEO and the minimum-wage janitor who cleans the executive toilet that CEO shits in are equally culpable; her attitude embodies a very real failure in mainstream environmental activism to properly distinguish between individual and collective responsibility.

2. This is almost certainly completely accidental, and 90% of the people writing Poison Ivy in an official capacity probably aren’t thinking about it any more deeply than Scary Eco-Terrorist Woman Bad.
