Just finished my second birdhouse project! This one holds similarities to my previous birdhouse, only abstracted. I largely based my abstract design off of the architectural designs of Tim Burton in his stop motion films (Such as The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, and James and the Giant Peach). The inspiration can be seen in the bold shapes, exaggerated distortions, and chaotic detail. And here is my finished bird house!! Posting the picture I took in class a bit late, but it's finally done! As you may be able to see, my main inspiration for this was Japanese architecture (especially seen in Japanese gardens). This was a ton of fun to make. The process took some time, but was very interesting between designing the pieces using Inkscape for the first time, and using a laser cutter for the first time! Overslept this morning and litterally got straight out of bed and drove to school for my morning class.. 😌 Ironically, I ended up getting to class earlier than I usually do! So, it's been a little while since I last posted due to school starting again.. But, on a more interesting note, I'm currently using a laser cutter to cut out the pieces to a bird house I designed! I love tea so much! 💃 Back to watercolors and pen with these geometric Pattern pieces!! It was difficult to repeat the pattern consistently without too many flaws when drawing it by hand. Just recently finished watching Mob Psycho 100!! I love these brothers so much!!! ❤ @_@ I couldn't help but draw a rendition of their spinning scene from the anime opening. It was just so cute! I've had a bit of another delay in posting with the holidays and all, but here is another paper cutout and quilling piece to welcome the New Year! Here is a little fox burrow for the winter season! 😊 For this, I tried out some paper cutting and quilling techniques! I used a variety of colored paper for the cut-outs, then glued it all down on Bristol Board. I also cut cenemeter thick strips of paper for the quilling part. The detail took a lot of time to cut out and glue, but I'm happy with the results! I'm finally getting around to posting the fourth picture I did for my houseplants project! I just finished finals, so this has been a bit slow to come..🙃 I did this piece using grey tone Copic markers on Bristol board. I had a bit of trouble with shading, but the detail was fun to work on! The third piece in my houseplant series! For this piece, I took different, patterned papers and cut out the parts to the plant using an x-acto knife. All of the paper pieces were glued onto bristol board. This piece took me a while to make due to all of the detail in the leaves! My hand definitely hurt from all of the paper cutting, but it was still a fun project! #art #papercutout #xactoknife #bristolboard #houseplants #blackandwhite

Piece 2 of 4 on houseplants done! I used an India Ink, ink wash on bristol board for this one. This was actually my first time trying ink wash, so I'm happy with how it went!
