Inspired by the 1960’s Reggae Dub, I created a live recording complete with drum and bass riddim’ which I added the classic DUB effects to… delays, reverbs, and flangers.

In 1990’s fashion I mangled and re-sampled the recording to create “Reggaie Dub” (spelling intended). The inspiration didn’t stop there as I used popular techniques of the 90’s such as scratching, vinyl stopping and beat-breaking to create a second dimension hip-hop. It still didn’t seem artistically complete to me. I decided to down grade the entire song to cassette quality. The imperfections and deterioration of sound makes this instrumental seamless in my mind.

In a time when “pristine” songs are pumped out on a mass level, this song is a complete middle figure to today’s standards. It stands unique, representing the primary message of the 90’s… “Stand up for your beliefs”. Even the spelling was changed from Reggae Dub to “Reggaie Dub.”

Artistically embracing 3 decades of urban music, this track was done out of respect and to celebrate the different sub-cultures as well as evoke nostalgia to those who lived through this amazing era.

Thanks to Think Militant Records, this song is released as a free instrumental for our fans and Kaizn TV viewers alike. I hope this track brings you as much pleasure as it brought me producing it.
