for the people who enjoy love and peace and sometimes a little joy (sorry guys)

CW: depressive episodes, seasonal affective disorder, suicide, not-laid-on-thick gore

(i am not in charge of your mental health. please do not read below the cut if you are SERIOUSLY triggered by any of these topics, as they may not be to your tolerance compared to mine. i build characters off of my own experiences, but their synthesis and interpretation may not reflect the severity of yours and may unsettle or make you uncomfortable.)

COLE HASAN (pre-demon ej)

appearance

human cole is around 6'2" or 189.5 cm. doesn't act like it and pretends to be a little shorter loser. sometimes forgets how tall he is until he actually meets someone WAY smaller than him

broader, lean form. kinda a combination of a sleeper build and a swimmer's physique because of his height (it is hard to bulk up somebody with that surface area, guys).

tries to work out as much as he can, but goes through phases where he doesn't and gets too unmotivated. STILL maintains the same build and weight somehow.

half-turkish, half-indian. his complexion is usually more on the olive end of his genetics rather than the darker tan/coppery skintone bc of how much time he spends indoors (nerd alert) and gets sun moles more often.

his hair is p close to a medium length. darker brunette and curled with brighter pieces in the front when he does get outdoors; short enough to appear styled naturally but long enough to layer out on the sides and just above the nape of his neck.

he allowed a girl to straighten his hair once, fully, and it was flat, insanely long, and damaged. it did not return to its natural shape for three days.

tired, brown to hazel eyes. like really fatigued that on bad days, he just starts smiling randomly if you hold a conversation with him, so that they aren't as noticeable.

he has a birthmark just above his left pectoral that looks like a half-assed flower. just in case u were wondering

will wear all black with jeans on accident most days unless he remembers to put on a jacket. then, he just wears a brown jacket and all black.

if he really wants to impress someone, he'll try to make actual outfits using undershirts and shirts. found out that he could use pinterest at some point and bought a few essentials to wear once every...once in a while.

personality

cold, reserved on the outside. soft on the inside. like duhhh

unless you catch him off guard with something that he's interested in. then he listens immediately and faces you, but he won't prod. YOU have to prod him.

classic medical nerd who knows, at least, how to socialize. holds a conversation well, but doesn't mean it unless he really cares. you could read him your entire life story, and it wouldn't even be stored in his brain for a good two seconds if he didn't care about it.

getting on his good side is easy, though. hard work and respecting him.

getting on his better side is hard. it's a game of nudging until you can push.

but once you're in, you're in.

becomes off-puttingly funny. like you don't understand how the guy becomes so hilarious in a snap once you get close.

that dry, deadpan humor that makes you want to play along for the joke until you literally can't bc you're laughing too hard and he's still doing it

starts just bringing you things if you need them. you said you liked dark chocolate once? you get upset, and he brings you all of it that he can buy

goes on tangents about medicine, anatomy, and medical history until you visibly zone out. then he realizes what he's doing and gets embarrassed for a bit until you reassure him that you just don't have the space for it mentally

appreciates receiving gifts and service, BUT loves physical attention

now we get into the weeds, sorry guys

his tougher exterior is really just a manifestation of trying not to appear sensitive and masking his depressive symptoms.

masking developed because of his family's assertion of traditional roles on him.

his depression is often a combination of genetic disposition and his workload. med school actually sucks balls.

becomes clear during winter that he struggles with it. you have to lure him out of bed to change when he's shivering or to eat something warm halfway into the day.

if he really loves you, he'll tell you it every time you visit him while he's down, even if you don't notice it when his face is pressed down into his pillow and muffling his speech.

has the mindset of wanting to improve for you rather than himself, which screws him over. like a lot.

general

actually eats like a racehorse. IT. IS. INSANE. you go out to eat and he's already done within two seconds of food arriving. but he'll feel bad and stay away from his meal if your food isn't ready yet.

crushes coffee. hates energy drinks and swears he can feel the chemicals searing the lining of his stomach

gets unnaturally cold in the winter and blames it on neither side of his family being built for "the arctic." it dips below 40°F and suddenly, he needs five layers

holds onto pillows and stuffed animals like a literal sloth

like leaving nail indents on plush stuff if you try to take it away while he's sleeping

smells sterile and he knows it. gets really uncomfortable sitting in it alone that he just starts buying air fresheners for every room

you point at one and go "what's this?" "lavender." and that's the end of the conversation abt it

swears he has no free time between class and finding internships when he really does.

"i don't have time to read" and finishes a book in two sittings. "i don't have time to cook" and makes you dinner. "i don't have time to shop" and goes grocery shopping.

sleeps in perfect posture and slowly slumps onto you. you wake up and he's suddenly in full lizard position

EYELESS JACK

appearance

stands at least a few inches taller than his human form and can get even taller if he straightens completely to appear even bigger, which rarely happens unless he's in a specific...season

again, similar physique to his human form but is a lot more muscular. training becomes more of an outlet bc he has more time.

his complexion really deadens. if he was lighter for his family before, he is a sick, grey-olive-tan color as jack. his hair also never gets even a bit lighter as a demon, and doesn't grow as fast as it once did.

has no eyes. yeah. empty sockets under his eyelids that leak the tar substance. you swear that sometimes you can see the gloss of the black liquid in the pits of his missing eyes if you stare hard enough while he's looking at a direct light.

has unnaturally long canines and sharper teeth. i will not stop the people from having their three tongues also. (audience cheers)

has the tail. :)

and we get sad again... sorry guys

the space just below his eyes and above his cheeks is deeply grooved and scarred, allowing the tar substance to drip into his face, from scavenger animals tearing up his body when he died

his neck has a large, stitched seam where his bone had to be repositioned and splinted after it broke for his head to stay on straight.

the rope burn entwining this scar also hasn't faded as well because of the operation.

personality

you thought he was reserved before? try now

and a lot snappier because he regrets dealing with slenderman to "restore" his life.

but also a lot more sarcastic, just because of his distaste for his new situation.

sometimes he doesn't even recognize what he's become and becomes even more distant from everyone else, thinking that cole is long gone and his new persona can't benefit anyone else.

the needing to fix himself thing is up 500%, but now he just believes that it's impossible to do it at this point

glimpses of cole return when he works on medical procedures or gets time alone to himself to research.

he still is dead-set on finishing his education (NERD ALERT) and studies alone. becomes more amiable if he's worked earlier in the day.

same with getting close. if you can "bear him," he'll respect you. but if you actually care and help him out, he'll open a bit more.

physical assurance stocks are up 130% tho if u were wondering

most of his human emotions are dulled from the afterlife still

including depressive episodes. which makes him feel a bit more whole again, to not feel as heavy in his body.

never really believes that he's the same person as before despite what you tell him. which is true: he's kinda a demon now!

general

jack is a pseudonym for him just because he couldn't use the name cole anymore. it didn't suit him since he became a different being.

and jack's one of the most common filler names ever. sightings were already identifying him as a sort of "john doe" or "tom dick or harry" figure. jack was just easy.

but if bodies are left over after missions, he'll try his best to autopsy them to study if he's allowed

results in random bags of fully intact torsos and organs in the mansion freezer

"this tissue actually has a rare genetic mutation in the bloodstream so i still need a good sample size" "can you just take it to your room" "no i dont have the time"

nesting...demon things...oh boy i'll do a separate post for this at some point >:)

only can tolerate raw meat as a demon but still feels an urge to cook it from his knowledge of salmonella and bacteria from med school

will sear flesh just to see the meat turn brown while he eats to distract himself from the fact that he's eating raw meat

but loves blood. very contradictory

bloodborne illnesses do not bother him because he can't get them. and if he doesn't touch anyone at risk, who cares?

oh boy. the last sad part. it's almost over guys

succumbed in the winter to suicidal thoughts as a human and immediately regretted it

seeing cole's capacity as a practiced, vulnerable weapon, slenderman dealed with him that he would restore his life if he would work for him

cole said yes, and was granted life in the form of taking his previous vessel as a demon.

but, he instantly realized that becoming a demon changed him beyond repair: his cravings, his behaviors, and his body. almost everything was different and wouldn't change back no matter how hard he tried.

but, he still clings to the hope that you will recognize him for the person he is behind his current form.

KAT SOROKA HEADCANNONS

-Really good night vision, similar to a cats but her color vision has gone down a bit her peripheral vision is great though but her vision in the daylight isn't the greatest, in the same vein a lot of her senses are enhanced in comparison to what they were pretransformation, but especially her proprioception (basically your ability to tell where your body and different parts of it are in relation to space without relying on your sight), she like a cat always lands on her feet.

-Hates people just randomly touching her ears and tails (I mean who wouldn't)

- Hates soda fountains avoids them like the plague (I mean shes gotten sick from them before, plus shes a medical student, and those things depending on the establishment don't get cleaned very often, meaning, that their a breeding ground for bacteria)

-Pretty much nocturnal, I think a lot of the pastas and proxies are pretty much so anyway (who's going out and killing in the broad daylight?) but Kat is in particular, she can see better that way and I think as time goes on her circadian rhythm becomes more and more like a cat.

-Very dexterous like a cat.

-Acts both as a scout and as a medic, but predominantly as a scout at the start. Due to both her enhanced senses and Dexterity she's the ideal scout (assuming nobody notices her cat like traits) and her knowledge of medicine make her great to have on missions with you, but she had a learning curve at first from book knowledge to shit Tim just got shot. She overcame that curve pretty fast.

-Stage Managed in high-school for a show or two before quitting due to disrespectful actors.

-Has a stuffed bunny that Cole gave her and shes named after him.

-Hates milk out of spite, someone *cough cough* Jeff *cough cough* has made a targeted remark about offering her milk one too many times and now she refuses to drink it on principle.

-Likes to paint her claws, in medical settings there's not a lot of ways you can safety express yourself outside of scrub color or something or what way you've pulled your hair back (she already dies it of course) and she took up the habit of painting her nails to show off some of her personality

-I think shes kind, but don't mistake her for being a pushover. She can be no-nonsense when it matters. And being kind doesn't make her any less snarky. Even with her loved ones. Especially with her loved ones.

Relationships

Obviously her and Cole -Eyeless Jack as he is known as he is known as now were dating before the incident.

But for now? They're so so close but so far still. When they finally reunite? The cutest couple you've ever seen. I can see E.J just casually headbutting her (he loves it when she runs her fingers through his hair) for attention. I think they'd be very cuddly. Their relationship might not be exactly the same as it was before (they've been too transformed and seen too much for that)

I don't see her and Nurse Ann getting along at all, to be fair Ann hates all living things, but I think Kat would see her as a perversion of what a medical professional should be. Even if any possibilities of her being a doctor are now dead, she mourns what could have been if things hadn't been wrong. I can see her being a little scared, not of Ann but of one day becoming like her.

I think she'd be friends with Brian, a more casual coworkers like friendship for sure, light hearted conversations while on and on their way back from missions and a shared joke kind of thing, and following this she and Tim would have a mutual respect type of friendship.

Likewise I don't think shed get along well with Jeff or X- Virus. I think she and Jeff would butt heads a lot, and I think Liam's more sadistic aspects of his personality would turn her away from him even if they otherwise got along.

I think, she and Nina would actually be really good friends. I think at the start it might be a bit bumpy, with Nina being obsessed with her ears "they're soooo cute!" type of thing which could make Kat a tad uncomfortable. But as they spent more time together? Nina starts to chill out a bit, and she's actually pretty sweet? They watch and tear apart RomComs together (neither of them are invested or anything totally/s), Nina helps her out when picking out outfits to make sure colors aren't clashing, Kat helps Nina dye her hair.

Bunching the quilts and blankets up around his torso to sit up straight when I opened the door, Cole was lying prone in his bed when I checked on him around noon. A dense, packing lake-effect snow sat on the Chicago area and stopped me from taking the subway to him a few hours earlier. He rolled onto his left shoulder, watching me quietly shimmy the front door fully closed behind me with my arms full. He hadn't bothered to change into a shirt, even though he hated the cold and couldn't sit still without extra layers in the winter. I stepped closer to the bed, steadily holding the food and coffee I brought him in my hands. "Colshenya, you haven't been up yet?" He dodged the question with a contemplative mumble before responding, "No. Not yet. Just tired." "...Are you feeling well?" Cole laughed lightly, but the sound sharpened like a roughened hiss from his lack of water. "'M not sick, no." "That's reassuring," I hummed softly as I stepped around the bedframe's edge, my tone pattering off sarcastically near the end when I realized he was in a better mood than I thought. I set down the thermal cup of coffee and the parchment-wrapped bacon egg and cheese that I had frozen my hands off waiting for in the street onto his bedside table. "Really, just tired? Like really, really?" "Just tired." Another pause. "Kat, I don't think I can get up today."

He stared up at me with wide, tired eyes from his pillow, a few wispy strands of his brown hair saturated against the pale, usually olive skin underneath. Pressing his cheek against the wrinkled material under his head, a gut-twisting whisper escaped his cracked lips. "I'm not getting better, and I don't know if I can this winter. I feel so gross and pathetic, but I just need to stay here today." Letting the silence following his words resound for a bit longer, I pulled myself up to sit on the side of his bed. "You're not gross or pathetic. You are just in a rough patch, and you will get better. I don't date people who are gross and pathetic, anyway."

His eyes evaded mine for a bit, refusing the assurance in my voice before his composure cracked at my joke. Cole let out a short, entertained sigh, facing me again. "Really? Because I just thought we were really close best friends." I smacked his arm lightly. "Did you just friendzone me?" "Yeah, because you're just my best female friend." I shoved him gently backward against the headboard, making him wince dramatically. "Let up! That hurt!" My arm fell back at my side reluctantly, huffing under my breath. He let out a faint sigh, getting comfortable again. Once he went quiet, I slid myself up a bit closer to his torso, leaning down to press a gentle kiss to his forehead.

You’ve been too reliant on [NOT-AVAILABLE] and the other douche, anyway.

MY TAKE ON CHAR KAT

She didn’t exactly expect for unicorns and ghouls to be attached to her, but here she is. The moment Kat stepped into this mess she opened her third (fourth?) eye. So fuck. Now she’s stuck with mythical creatures and horrors and cannibals and— Gods, why couldn’t she be one of the more normal pastas? The ones that just kinda existed?

Kat Soroka is a med student, the obvious- surrounding herself with sickness, health, all things physical. The unicorn is a being that symbolizes purity, and part of being pure is to feel the urge to help others. As well as symbolizing health, getting rid of pollution, healing, and curing diseases. Magical beings, for they restore hope into the world- although seen as a myth. Not appreciated as much as time goes by. Doctors are the same, in a way. Ghouls are associated with being monstrous humanoid beings, graveyards, and the consumption of human flesh. All things alike, that do connect to physical health, in a way. She’s teased for this unlikely pairing and for.. seemingly being connected to these two species, but Kat’s stopped caring about the jokes a long time ago. Ghouls and unicorns are just kinda annoying. Just a tad bit.

She’s resilient, energetic.. to an extent, cheerful(?), and kinda bad at taking things seriously deep down. No, seriously, what was she thinking with that dumb joke when asked for a weapon? (She still chuckles every now and then at the joke when she’s alone.) Kat knows her goals, what she’s fighting for, what she needs to do to survive. Survival is a key part in my take on her, whether it be someone else’s or her own. Deep down, Kat does feel sympathetic for all those she’s murdered. Really does! ..But it’s all surprised, hidden, buried underneath. She does this because she has to, not because she wants to. Remember that, Kat. Remember.

Kat drifts between living in that universe/mansion, and residing in the Appalachian mountains. (Here’s a quick thing: a common place for creepypastas that aren’t bound to the Slendermansion to reside in are the Appalachian Mountains because that’s where The Operator was first created.) Doesn’t find herself restricting herself to one place, one where she settles down. Kat can’t rest easy. Not completely, not yet. Not until she gets her boyfriend back.

speakingn of which someone PLEASE give her her big back Plelase she’s so angry when she’s rmeidnnded it’s scary plz.

Killings an outlet for her. When she’s really worked up, feeling a strong emotion- she grabs a weapon (or uses her bare claws. that’s fine too.) and heads out. Jeff occasionally joins her, and they’ve got a frenemies thing going on, but it all seems to vanish when they’re on a self-assigned mission. They do make a great team if you just.. got rid of their personalities and the way it kinda clashes. LOL.

On the topic of relationships, she has her enemies and friends. Nina’s a forced proximity relationship- Kat can find her a bit too much sometimes?.. but overall, they’re friends, and that’s the end of that. Kat’s acquaintances with Ben, and they find each other funny and fun to be around. Frenemies with Jeff, as previously stated.. and I do think she’d get along with Tobias. Toby’s a douchebag, an asshole, a whatever-you-wanna-call-him.. and despite it all the friendship just. Works. They set up animal traps together lol. Oh- friends with Jane too, the silent approval they gave each other is hard to miss. B.E.N is new. Kat’s one of the many people that B.E.N takes interest in- small fascination. Just for her personality. Kat, for some reason, doesn’t seem too phased by BEN- unlike the others, who usually have at least a small dislike heading towards them. At first she was like “yeah they’re a weirdo and an asshole and they should die” until overtime they’ve spent more time together and now there’s this. Weird friendship that neither of them will acknowledge.

Oh, but out of everyone, she works best with Kate… and Toby, but whatever. Kate and Toby were already a duo, and then Kat joined. I think they’d slowly rank up. They all have that small little pride in being respected by the pastas, whether it’s forced (because they’re proxies) or not. Whatever the case is, they’re better than others. Whether they’ll admit that thought out loud or not. Kate’s always on their asses for the dumb stuff they do, but it takes one little “please” before she’s smirking and joining in. Proxy trio title belongs to THEM, not Tim, Brian and Toby. They dye their hair together. Well, once. Kate and Toby are usually there for emotional support when Kat’s dying her hair, and one time they joined in- just a streak, but it’s matching and there. Faded away, but you know.. whatever.

Mother Nature has her eye on her. Mother has her eye on everything, especially that boyfriend of hers. ..I was planning on not elaborating on this but then again I feel like I owe u that if this is gonna be my last post about Kat… maybe it won’t . Nature is an entity just like Zalgo and Slenderman and whoever the fuck. Mother was the entity before everything else- Slenderman came from her flesh. She oversees everything, no matter what universe it is. She’s not inherently malicious, just kinda creepy. Anyway, said boyfriend had done something in his absence to catch Nature’s attention- and now she has a keen eye on him. (OC mention! QUICKb IGNORE IF U DONT LIKE NICOLE!) Nicole keeps an eye on him for Mother, actually. Watching from afar. ..Not that Nicole knows that that’s Kat’s boyfriend, trust, if she did she’d absolutely tell her. But uh.. Kat and Nicole don’t really have any relation at all, so why would Nicole know that Kat was dating anyone in the first place???

yeah, 4 sure the crp fandom will die if we don't accept new ocs. but that's like the umbrella problem to an infuriating bunch of unacknowledged branching issues most of the main creepypastas are literally mary sues and self insert ocs that appealed to the edgy early internet era. literally the reason we have more fan art creations and spinoffs of jeff the killer and laughing jack than candle cove and motherhorseeyes is bc they could be rebranded into hot, misunderstood emo guys. why the actual shitty butt do we expect current oc stories to match the quality of the best works of the 2010s fandom when the most popular creeps definitely don't????

same with the dissolution of cringe culture from the fandom (i actually laffed out loud writing that. acting like the loss of cringe culture from creepypastas parallels the dissolving of the soviet union HOLY). yes, it's great that we're mainly adults with folded brains now who also like hardcore stuff. but, cringe is an integral part of this community and what makes the early creeps so nostalgic.
