I was tagged by the very lovely @lumineve-isonline. Tagging in my darlings @halixius, @birdielouwho, @frootbelloop, @maylilithreign and anyone else who would like to play along.

The first five will be the first lines from my most recent fics, the next five will be the WIPs I am working on. All these works are from Stardew because I have no room in my brain for anything else.

Harvey settled into bed, leaning back into the mountain of pillows with a contented sigh. (Something for the Weekend - Harvey/ oc Lyra - M)

It began, as many stories do, hushed and quiet, with a prologue. (A Story in Every Spoonful - Penny/ Player for @itsmeglycine - G)

You sit in your office up on the fourth floor of the faculty building, the fluorescent strip burning brightly overhead. (Office Hours - Harvey/ Reader AU - E)

"Come here." (Praise You - Harvey/ oc Lyra - E)

and now for the WIPs

Lyra lay back on the couch, attempting to read her book but the words kept shifting. (The Promise in your Touch - Harvey/ oc Lyra - M)

It was another quiet Thursday morning. (The Words We Never Say ch40/40 - Harvey/ oc Lyra - E)

She drew in a deep breath, listening to the sound of the gently rolling waves as they lapped at her toes. (Saltwater Kiss - Sam/ oc Joleil for @soapy-soup - E)

Out of reach, fingers outstretched, slowly grasping, coming together and clenching to a fist, nothing there. (Out of Reach - Harvey/ oc Lyra - E)

Belle woke early that morning, a small twist of anxiety knotting in her stomach. (Steps Beneath the Sunset - Harvey/ oc Belle for @frootbelloop - M probably)

From the moment I open my eyes...

I was so excited to be able to commission the wonderful @shreddies-scribbles lately to draw Lyra and Harvey. I always say that their sleepy Harvey is one of my favourites among all of the many stunning pieces of Harvey art I have seen over the years. I truly adore it.

So when we were chatting about a scene to draw, they so generously offered to make a cosy, sleepy Lyra and Harvey moment and I squealed at the idea. This is just gorgeous. It is so soft and tender, the most beautiful moment of tranquility. The way Harvey has his arm draped around Lyra. The way they are looking at each other! I am completely in love with it! Thank you so much for working with me!

‘Harvey, I love you. In so many ways, all different. I feel it from the second my eyes open in the morning…’ I could feel my face heating, spreading down my throat to my chest where my pale skin was already pink and flushed. He searched my face, tenderness in his eyes. I swallowed, finding my voice again with a quiet giggle.

‘… to the warmth I feel when I lie next to you at night.’ I pressed a kiss to his lips, his breath catching in his throat. ‘I love you so completely, purposefully, with a need to keep doing so. I crave you. It consumes me and I didn’t tell you enough… so I need to tell you now… I just need to tell you now.’

The world is standing still...

... just for us.

i was so lucky to be able to commission @a-hemhem to draw this very sweet moment for Lyra and Harvey. The Moonlight Jellies is my favourite of the town festivals and I just know these two would love it too. To be in the peaceful, twilight summer air, to see something so beautiful in the natural world. The Moonlight Jellies always feels like a lovely moment of reflection for everyone and not least these two. I set this moment back in year one, when they are still friends but grappling with those developing feelings. I love how you can see Harvey's apprehension at putting his arm around Lyra, while she, already smitten, looks at him like he hung the stars themselves. The soft light here just makes this scene so perfectly romantic. I adore it! Thank you so much for working with me!

Here's a little snippet of that moment:

I stepped back from the edge, side by side with him, my arm brushing lightly against his. My heart fluttered in my chest. I focused on the glimmer of the moonlight on the water, smiling at the sense of calm that washed over me, taking in the hypnotic display. He was so close, his presence so soothing. I took a chance and leaned my head against his shoulder.

His body tensed, I heard a soft breath, tightness beginning to spiral in the pit of my stomach, questioning whether I had just made a huge mistake. And then, he was there with me, his arm wrapping around my shoulder, tentative, the lightest touch, barely there.

‘It’s as if the world is standing still, just for us.’ I spoke, little more than a whisper.

‘That’s a beautiful thought. It makes you really appreciate these peaceful moments.’ He looked down at me. ‘Sometimes, it’s in the quiet that things speak the loudest.’

I looked into his eyes. I hadn’t even realised that I was holding my breath. I let out a soft sigh.

Having more of that awful Life with an upper case L in The Real World at the moment, so I might try and put out another short fluffy fic of my lovely Lyra and Harvey this weekend. I need the dopamine, serotonin, and all those nice endorphins that writing something low stakes gives me. Just all the silly fluff please. I recently wrote two short fics and I would love for you to read them. Hopefully, they will make you as happy as they made me.

Right where I want to be

I was so very lucky to be able to commission @kaybzzart to draw Lyra and Harvey in a tender moment from one of my favourite stories of them, Steal Your Heart. This is such a beautiful scene between two friends who developed feelings for each other. The lingering glance, the soft touch, and so much yearning it makes my heart sing. And Harvey is just so handsome! I love this all so much! Thank you so much for working with me!

The fic features three moments of Lyra and Harvey's friends to lovers relationship, two very sweet and fluffy, and one very spicy. Here's a very tiny snippet.

‘Just coffee? You’re sure you don’t need anything else.’ He asked, a look of concern on his face.

She giggled, looking up at him. ‘Coffee is perfect, Harvey. Thank you.’

He was sure he should be doing more but there she sat, reading in his apartment, grey clouds crowding the horizon, the temperature dropping, following a warm and humid summer Sunday morning. A storm rolling in from the sea. She had come over late that morning, as soon as she’d finished necessary chores on her property, knowing the weather was due to change. She had suggested they spend the remainder of the day together. It was everything he wanted, to just be, finding some quiet intimacy with someone special. He wondered if that was her.

Something for the weekend

My absolutely beloved @halixius sent a kiss prompt request to my inbox for 35. a kiss in the space between the shoulder blades. I had a couple of ideas come to mind for this prompt and this was the first. It turned into a short Lyra and Harvey fic, in which our anxious doctor realises he has a very real case of very real feelings. Lyra helps him to feel better. Here's a little snippet:

A leisurely smile rose to his face, thankful that tomorrow was Sunday and he could spend another day with her.

Wait…

His eyes flicked open, and he groaned, lids fluttering shut once more as he swept a hand across his forehead at the realisation. Tomorrow was Monday.

But then that would mean…

A small pinch of anxiety gripped his stomach, worry sneaking in at the edges of his brain, slowly consuming the serenity he’d felt as he strolled through his memories of the week past and his plans for the days to come. Every thought sharpened, focusing on one single concern. He stared at the ceiling above, tucking an arm under his head as he tried to force himself back into the relaxed state of a few moments ago, huffing lightly as tension began to grasp his neck.

'Sweetheart, I feel a little guilty. I've stayed the last two nights… this makes three.' Harvey announced to the empty bedroom. 'Are you sure you don't want some time to yourself, or a break from me... not that I don't want to be here. Quite the opposite, in fact...' He sat up, looking in the direction of the bathroom.

'Harvey... who asked you if you'd like to stay?' Her calm voice carried from the next room.

A bashful smile tugged at his lips. 'Well, I think I asked you if I could stay on Friday night and just… never left. And now it's Sunday.' He looked down, fingertips fidgeting with the edge of the blanket.

Lyra appeared at the bathroom door, hand on her hip as she leaned against the doorframe. 'But I didn't ask you to leave, did I?' She smiled affectionately.
