Starting off, i want to say i LOVE the animation, for both the movie and the series. The art was easily my favorite takeaway from the movie, by far. Though the movie plotline seemed rushed, my main grift is that I really wish they gave a better backstory as to why they became ninjas,(I mean, cmon, youtube vids?? 😭). And man, if Splinter isn't Japanese, then why the hell does he have this heavy ass Japanese accent ? ? ? 🥹 Them being ninjas is a huge piece of their identities, and the story behind it was just this dusty fart of an explanation lol

So like going into the series following the movie, my expectations were definitely lowered - but damn it's really entertaining! The undertone gives a mix of 2012 and Rise to give you an understanding -> 12 being angst based, and Rise being comedy based- it's a nice center point, and I've really enjoyed it so far ( ´∀｀ )b I'm only 6 episodes in, but I'm already looking forward to how the next season goes.

Thanks for letting me rant 🙂 I've only been able to discuss this with my partner, and I don't want his ears to give up and evacuate heheh
